Thank you for your reply about this matey, and the nice comments while i was doing the heater matrix.... It was your thread that i have been referring to actually. It is your experience that made me think that it could possibly be the oil cooler rather than the head gasket. It was the orange poo (mayo) that first started ringing alarm bells for me. I had just finished the matrix and was going to connect the hoses back in, but first i though i would check the water level in the header tank....then oh dear that doesn’t look good lol... Well i ran her up to my mates last night and when he gets a chance he'll have a look at it, although worryingly when he phoned VW for me for a price on an oil cooler they told him that the vr6 didn’t have one....great. GSF don’t even list one, they only have them for g60's and 16v.... So again I’m lost :( I really hope its the oil cooler, fingers crossed.. Thanks again

Help needed please, I have a late 1994 Corrado Vr6, she has been running sweet recently. However last week while driving in town something went pop and there was steam everywhere in the car... Lots of water in the passenger foot well so straight away I guessed it was the heater matrix. I connected the two hoses together and ran it to and from work for the rest of the week, all was fine...... So at the weekend I decided to take the dreaded dashboard out and replace the heater matrix which I did quite successfully (considering I have no mechanical knowledge lol ) All fine I thought, but I went to check the water and I have lovely mayo in there.......great!! At first I though it was the head gasket, but since doing lots of reading on here I am hoping it may be the oil cooler?? So basically I’m after some advice. I’m taking it over to my friend/mechanics tonight so he can have a look at it.... It’s been running lovely though, hasn’t missed a beat. Still ran sweet after the heater matrix went and I bypassed it. Am I right it thinking that if it were the heat gasket it wouldn’t have driven very well?? So why have I got oil in my water?? Any ideas???

Well the new one is in :), what a long old job though getting all the dash out. Probably very stupid of me but i spent all of yesterday getting the old matrix out, the new now is now in. I did however get very carried away with cleaning every part i took out and though i had better get in all back in while i still remember. So my new problem is that i havent get connected the hoses in the engine bay, so fingers crossed the new unit is okay, i did stick a hose in it and there werent any leaks. But im not 100% on which way to connect the two hoses in the engine bay. When it went pop i was about 10 miles away from home so i phoned the RAC and that just connected the two hoses together to get me home, i didnt however watch this so im not sure which was around to connect. Im guessing it probably doesnt really mater as long as the hoses do not kink.....??? My mechanical knowledge is zero lol so the fact that i have attempted this by myself was probably very stupid lol... but i think im nearly there.... Would someone please post a picture of their engine bay with the hoses so i know how to connect mine..... :)

This reason why i love this forum.....i might not put maybe posts on this forum but im always on here finding answers to all the little problems the corrado throws at me :) My heater matrix went yesterday,.....my car didnt show any signs of it happening though :( just went pop, steam everywhere and a passenger footwell full of water :( So i shall be attempting this at the weekend...i was going to get it to a garage but as im skint and this seems like such a detailed guide im going to give it a go..... Wish me luck, Thanks again Kris :)

Ive been on the site a little while now, thought i would post the lastest picture of my old girl. This is how it looks currently, lots of plans for it next year, fingerscrossed it will be going in for a full re-spray! Havent had it long, just lowered on coilovers with a nice powdercoating on the speedlines, comments welcome :) -
I am definitely in if this goes ahead but as already mentioned it just needs someone to organise it all really... the only real problem i can see is that its stated that it shall be delivered to one address in the UK, which will still mean that have to be distriputed from whoever makes the order out to us guys. Either way, when this goes ahead im in.... :)

Im also definitely interested in these as both of mind have cracked and im not wanting to buy them brand new at those prices, so if this does go ahead i would like to be in on the bulk buy :)

Right just a quick one really, after reading lots into what coilovers would be the best bet for my vr, i feel that i would be so much better off in the long run paying that little bit more first time and buying the Kw varient 1's. I mean the corrado is my daily atm, and my rear shocks are indeed on their way out so i need to do this sooner rather than later, but where should i buy them from??? Ive used venom motorsports before when i bought my suspension for my mk2 golf and found them very good, and at the moment i havent found the kw v1 any cheaper else where, so i was just wondering where you guys bought them from??? Any information on prices and places would be great, thanks
