my bottom pulley bolt snapped few months ago and didnt do any damage. Does it still feel like it has compression when you push it with it in gear. Only thing to do as well is replace belt and tensioner and hope for best

Screwing or Bolting speakers to audioscape pods?
pummer67 replied to bristolbaron's topic in ICE 'n' Secure
i would always drill a pilot hole to avoid anything from spilitting wheter it be wood, plastic , fibreglass or anything. -
well could be but not sure why it is struggling to get above 80 degrees. mine was overfueling really bad and was running at over 6% at idle on a emmisions machine. it started as an intermittent fault but then one day just would not start as it was flooding the engine. you could start by changing it as it is the cheapest sensor to change. less than a fiver i think mine was. the blue temp sensor is a variable resistor which tells the car how much fuel it needs at the temperature it is running at. when the sensor breaks it reads infinity so the car has no reference point from it.

does anyone know if rado fuel tanks are the same as the mk2 golfs fuel tanks. are all tanks the same in the rados just different pumps? mark
-
my passenger side one is intermittent exactly the same as you described up until about month ago while i had door card off i was testing all the wiring and the control unit which is behind back door card drivers side and all wiring ok. in the end i hit the motor in the door with a hammer and that fixed it so i would guess that it is the same problem on yours. not that im suggesting hit it with a hammer but i now know mine needs new motor but not going to do it until it breaks again. been working fine for past month now. it looks like you have to drill out rivets to remove old motor and then replace with a new one. good luck and let me know how you get on if you do yours before me. mark

yea bts stands for blue temp sensor. Have you found problem yet?
-
idle problems could be many things. all the sensors affect the idle as they tell the car how much fuel to give the engine at any specific time. the most common one is the blue temp sensor. i think first of all you need to work out where you are losing water to though. mark

yea according to a website i read that is about the right mileage to get it serviced. I will try to remember site name and let u know as i think it talked about stage 5 conversion. Mark

i recently had similar symptoms and mine was the blue temp sensor. I put 1 resistor in the plug on startup and then a different one for when engine warmed up. I got the new sensor for less than 5quid from gfs. I think any of the other sensors can give similar symptoms though. Mine took a while to diagnose as it was intermittent to start with and then eventually really struggled starting it. Oh yea i the resistors i got from maplins for a few pence. Mark

what price is it worth? and a corrrado fuel tank? mark
-
so basically that is just a pump to pump it from the tank to another pump. is it worth anything? i dont need it as i bought another g60 fuel pump little while ago. mark
-
when i bought my g60 the guy gave me a new fuel tank with a fuel pump.. the seals on the bottom of my fuel pump are knackered so i went to change it when i was having trouble with the car running smoothly. when i took it out of the other fuel tank it was different to my g60 one so i am unsure what it is for. could anyone tell me which rado this pump is for? thanks mark :D
-
does it happen when you get lower on fuel. I had problems similar but only when i had less than third a tank. Mine was a fuel pump seal causing issues. I dont know where fuel pump is on 16v though but mine is in fuel tank. Only a suggestion though. Mark

i recently had mine to do. just make sure it is sealed at the bottom. drain holes in bottom of door unblocked. i put gaffer tape on the inside and outside of the membrane where i had a slight rip. also put a it of a bin liner to make the water track over the hole. i would also think about taking carpets out if you got that much water as the underlay/sound prrofing will not dry for ages even if carpet feels dry. mark

power steering belt is right at the bottom of all the pulleys on drivers side. Its under a plastic cover. I think there is 1bolt which you loosen which then allows you to pivot to either remove belt or pull tighter. You could change it in less than half hour. Mark

i got mine from jabba sport. was 29.50. well worth changing as you dont want to starve the charger of oil. mark
-
if its blue temp sensor normally the engine runs rich and revs can be very slow at returning and idle is faster when warm engine. You could get a couple of resistors from maplins which cost pence and plug them in to the blue plug. This proved my blue sensor was knackered. Or you could just change it. Mine was about 5pound from gsf. Mark

yea i changed mine a while back. Think it was about 30quid but let you know in morning if you want. And where from. Mark
