i am going to change my heater controls to late ones as i have fittede a late dash. Do i just need the heater control unit and dials. Do i just swap early cables onto late control unit or is it more involved than that? Any help would be greatly appreciated. Mark

hi all. this evening i put my late door cards on and my door still opened and closed fine. when i went to get in my car again i couldnt open door from outside so tried inside as i have already done the repair on this ext door handle a few months ago but still would not open. occasionly you could feel the interior one slightly catching but not opening. after trying for a few minutes locking and unlocking i was going to leave it for the nihgt and worry about it in daylight. i locked my car once more to reset immobiliser and thought i would try door one more time. to my relief it opened and hasnt failed once from inside again but only used a couple of times incase it happens again. it does open from outside but feels really stiff like it is going to break something. what could stop both exterior and interior handles from working. could i have caught the rod that goes to inside when putting door cards on? i wouldnt think that the rod could affect the ext handle though. any ideas as i want to repair this before it wont open again. also is there anyway to open it if both handles fail? any help would be greatly appreciated. mark

thanks. parts have worked great on my drivers door. was really easy to change and instructions were great. now just got to change passenger side as a precautuion when door card comes off. once again thankyou very much.

i am going to change my dash soon and have not decided yet whether to change heater controls or make old slide controls fit the hole. what parts do i need to change to the late style one and how easy is it to change. alot of people have different views on this so any advice would be great. :D

so switches on dash all fit and are a straight swap. Is it much work to change them to the modern looking switches with 2switches per hole? Thanks for advice mate. Now in process of buying grab handles with mirror switch and leather inserts.

i am going to change an early grey interior to a black leather interior. i have all seats with loom for front heated seats. what i need to know is i have a centre console and dash but with no switches. do i need late switches or will my early ones fit. e.g. headlight switch, rear screen, abs light, fog lights switch. i also dont have the late heater with the dials but i do want to change this aswell. i have read a few things on here about this swap but am unsure as people have different views on whether its possible. i also believe i need new window switches. is this correct. any help and advice wil be greatly appreciated as i have only had my car about 6months so i am a bit of an amateur when it comes to the differences between early and late. also if anyone has any of the switches i require please let me know. mark
