cheers Chris! you guys may be able to help me! my lad is going to uni in the states for a year and asked if he could have a car. we came across this! the body on this car is in great condition solid no rust to talk of at all! the trim inside is pretty beat up though facia split from heat! the engine was swapped out for a 1.9 diesel out of a VW passat. it has a pair of recaro that need re-trimming too, look like an old pair out of a golf. it has A/C which was only available in the US. its a 1981. its this or a Ford focus either way i lose money. Would be a great project back home!

OK after speaking with the strut dealer it would appear i may have an issue with SPAX. They want me to buy the replacement for the offside rear which has gone soft. If they deem it to be a manufacturers issue they will reimburse me! However they could decide not to! So today I decided to take a look at it and found the issue to be corrosion on the rod! So what’s the opinion on what SPAX will say? The strut has not been on the car a year yet!! Do I put the SPAX back on and pay the money or put the money into a different set?

the spoiler could be the least of your problems! it really depends what the rest of the car is like? if the body is in good sound condition and there is lots of sevice history and mileage not too high then as i say the spoiler is the least of the problems! the motors come up on the forum as do the switches so unless someone has cut the wires somewhere i would have thought you will get it going. only advise i can give sorry if it is not what you were after. by the way would be surprised if this came up just before viewing!!

I agree it needs to be lower but i have a problem damper at the moment, have a new one on order!

OK the answer to towing is covered the nearside hook is still there! the off side hook will be replaced by more modern nut thread for seperate towing hook! looking for a donar at the moment. fang covers still in trim just modified! i like the original but love the clean look better! not going to far from here as i love the corrado style and would not have bought it otherwise! i still want it to be a corrado! last nights meet i was parked next to another with original bumper and i liked mine better! at the end of the day it is down to the individual.. glad you all have an opinion on here! :D

I new it would not get everyone Jim.. and i respect your thoughts. The bumper is not a worlds first! but the indicators are a little unique, as is removing the fangs! :D

OK the car has been runninig great took it down to Basildon this week 256 miles just over half a tank of petrol until i opened her up down the M45! :D so next phase is underway been messing about tonight and will début it at the meet on wednesday night in coventry with jim and some others from the area! unless some of you can persuade me to post a picture tomorrow? :grin: this was how it looked tonight! playing.JPG[/attachment:p16xjtba]
