sexybourbon replied to Hofmiester's topic in Event Announcements & Discussion
Lists looking good mate i was only joking about the bbq lol but it would be good in summer if another meet happens although your car would stink of sausage's -
What i dont get is when they come round every quarter on the news and say blahh blahh blahh bo or who ever have made profits of billions yet they rape us at the pumps The fact wer in recession and it keeps rising baffles me as food prices rise along with everthing else that gets delivered by haulage firms , even if its only costing a few more quid a tank people see it by the litre and when it comes to days out and what not where normally people would be spending at food outlets and small shops and putting money in to the economy they dont bother as most will say agh we cant afford the stupid petrol prices No matter who it is thats raping us doesent matter , it will never change because no one will stand up and do anything about it nor will the government think about helping us out , theres a word that needs knocking off this country and thats "great " , i know theres alot worse places but still this countrys going down the ****ter

Is anyone bringing cake , id bring one but it would be a bit worse for wear by the time i got there i rekon lol -
I got back in touch with my mate to confirm purchase and for some reason they have worked it out from 54 pounds to a final bill with vat to 74 pounds so something dodgy has happend there , bloody typical
-
No you can re use all your parts but i think thats just whats advised unless you have already changed them or they have been do e in the recent past , i think once the corrado is lowered it puts quite a lot more stress on the top mounts thats all
-
Iv ordered the top mounts for the fronts and rear , the bolts are for the actual fitting of the coilovers im just renewing them for piece of mind , they are nothing to do with the top mounts , and the coilovers them selfs should have a new top nut on them
-
Spoke to vw heritage today and they can supply origional top mounts , iv ordered both sides and it came to 20 quid so its pennys for origional parts Iv also ordered front too mounts now and all the bolts from tps who supply origional parts and that all came to 53 pounds but thats with my mate ordering them through his work place at discounted rates Hope you get sorted what kind of miles has your car done ? Have you any service history with the car or reciepts to show they have been done in the past
-
Well iv just come of the phone with vw heritage and got the rear top mounts for 20 quid wich is good and my mates ordering all the front top mounts and front and back bolts from tps for me for 53.94 wich i thought was good , I rang vw this morning and they wanted over 20 pounds just for the nuts and bolts
-
Cheers bud i dont know why because iv never ordered from vw heritage but i assumed it would be hard work lol , ill give them a call and see if i can get them ordered
-
Looks really clean mate i bet your chuffed to bits with it
-
Cheers guys its annoying that the rears are not available , allthough ecp do have them they are a special order part and take up to five days to come an there made by skf , does anyone have any exparience with with this make as i was hoping they was going to be lemforder I think ill order the front top mounts from the etka and the rears from ecp Cheers for the info and ill change the bolts while im at it
-
Good stuff , me on the other hand will !! Im struggling to get the top mounts for the rear and there now a special order part from ecp Hooe you get on well with yours anyway mate

Iv just done mine so ill pass on the i fo i was given as i was a bit stuck when it came to doing it Do these in order and you should be fine Jack the car up and remove the lower rad hose Let it drain out in to a bucket Set the hose pipe up and stick it in the expansion tank and run for ten minuits until its all out and only clean is flowing like said above I then ran about ten litres of pure bottle water through the system as its de ironised water to flush out the hose pipe water and left that to drain for half an hour Re fit the bottom rad hose I then filled up my vr with 4.5 litres of g13 coolant , thats the new g12 from vw by the way , your g60 may be different levels of coolant and check as it might not be the same as a vr Let it fill until you can fit any more in then once thats full put your heaters and blowers on full blast and start the car and let it tick over with the cap of up until about 70c and then check all the levels and top up with your bottle water if needed Put your cap on before it gets to hot and by now you should have no air in the system and go for a quick drive and get it up to temp so that the thermostat opens Once home again let it cool down and then check all you fluid and top up again if needed with your bottled water I thinks thats about it mate im sure thats all correct , i did a rad change last weekend and thats the process i did and iv had no problems Hope that helps

Hi guys iv got my weitecs to fit this weekend if possible but i need to order some top mounts first , my friend is going to order them from his works account and save me some cash but because the diagrams split everything it to complete different pieces i need to know what to order , can someone help me out and list the bits i need to get so i can do the lot in one hit as i dont want to get the old ones of and realise that i cant fit the new ones This is the front diagram This is the back If anyone can tell me how many of the oarts down from tje top i need that would be great and a big help as i want to get the coilovers done before the north east meet in two weeks and the car need to go in for a four wheel align Cheers chaps

Help - my key doesn't turn the car on!! Ignition barrel issue??
sexybourbon replied to FenderSi's topic in Engine Bay
Have you tried putting the key in some sexy linergie ? Could be a dead romance !! Seriously tho it sounds like egnition switch , have you tried goving the key a wobble while trying to start it , sometimes my old one used to do it and if you wobbled it it made a connection -
Yea thats what they supply , i know that andrew pages supply febi parts aswell Tbh id like a hand with mine lol but it cant be anything other than working back until the old suspension is off and then putting the new on in exactly the same process , im going to do the backs first as mine are shagged and making some strange moaning and creaking noises , id definatly get it four wheel alignes aswell otherwise you will end up with ****ed tyres and bad handling , a dicky bird told me that people have been claiming of the council for alignments as the roads are that **** they have been knocking cars geomitry all over the place ,tbh i dont see why they shouldnt you pay the road tax and get jack **** back for it

Yep iv just checked on venom and there 616 now wich is a fair bit more , too mounts are a must id say going on what iv read , and im fitting it all my self then getting a good four wheel alignment on it when its done , iv never fitted coilover on a corrado before but it cant be that hard a job im just gonna get stuck in As jim says aswell the other bits arent to do with the coilovers i just mentioned them as thats what im doing i just didnt make my self clear Oh i rang ecp aswell and front top mounts are 20 odd and the rears are a special order part so ill rimg them back after dinner to find out prices and makes , there not available in lemforder tho and are a make called skf wich iv never heard of but was assured by him that they made good parts , weather you believe it or not is another thing
-
So iv been told mate , i did a little research and found thise to be best for my budget , i was going to go for kw but kw weitec and ap coilovers are all made by the same company , there just branded for different price markets and obviously they will have better components the more you oay for a kit , i chose the middle one really and paid 400 i think it was from venom , im sure i heard the prices have changed bow tho as they are stopping making the kw v1 basic coilovers and in place are re vamping the hicon gt to take its place with updated parts Lemforder are a reputable make and iv also heard febi bilstein are good but not quite as good as lemforder , dealer parts for topmounts will be expensive compared to ecp im sure i asked a while back and a new top mount was around 40 each , at those prices id be black listed very quik so i suppose its all down to budget , im in the proces of renewing all the suspension components so going with lemforder as much as possible with exeption to some power flex steering rack mounts and power flex anti roll bushes to hopefully stiffen it up in the right places , id be carefull with how much you power flex the car though as doing the full lot will provide a harsh ride with all that stiffness if you was planning anything like that

Buce collection of cars there mate id love the bug id have to lower it a bit though but its still nice , corrado looks lovely and clean , theres something about a nice clean standard corrado on its origional speedlines that always makes me wish i could leave mine alone for two seconds lol -
Weitec hicon gt mate , iv been told good things about them so hopefully they will be a nice ride. Ill be replacing the top mounts with lemforder parts as after a bit of research have been told are pretty good and can be had from ecp retailers, Im more more interested to know if i need to replace any nuts and bolts while im at it tjat might of perished , or if they are all re usable
