  1. Cheers riley its good to hear some positives, I cant tell you the size of the clamp but it fit very snug on to a standard 2 1/4 inch if that helps and yea it does creat some space lol As far as noise goes driver its loud but if driven nicely its still quiet just trundling along until you open it up and at motorway speeds its just the same again until you put your foot down Not sure how you do videos but ill try get some fly by vids wen i get some nice weather and roads , i do t think the gf would be happy left out in the cold while i drive past her as fast as i can haha
  2. Check my build thread out for my vr its in the new posts at the min so easy to find I carbon wrapped the 3 piece scuttle panel so you should be able to see what it looks like , i could even do it for you if you wanted to post it
  3. Cheers mcdaddy cant wait to get them on . On other things iv got a few more bits done yesterday to the car I finally got the straight through exhaust made up and fitted so im pleased with that and id just like to say a massive thanks to jamiehamy for sending me the exhaust for free wich i never expected but was a very nice thing to do so thanks for that mate your a star We took the magnex of because i really didnt want to chop this up as its a great system Then cut up the other back silencer and ended up a few hours later with this We used a nice big clamp to stop any blowing and it fit perfect , and its now a very loud vr , that can be put back to standard in about half an hour Iv fitted a new eariel gasket aswell wich tidies it up great as i blew the other one off with the jet wash The seal was only about 2.50 so happy with that little refreshment These turned up the other day aswell so ill try fit these when the weather gets better Powerflex steering rack mounts , i think this will be the only thing i power flex unless i decide i can do the antiroll bar bushes with them without making the ride to hard wich i dont think it should , does anyone know if it will or not ??

  10. Ordered these last week from venom after trying to decide for ages what setup to get Finally decided on weitec as there made by kw and after reading some reviews was happy to go with them They turned up today so im a happy bunny today , just need to get all the other front end parts fitted and then i can fit these And im also waiting on a powerflex steering mount kit to come from venom aswell and im poping to my mechanics in morning to start sorting a straight through exhaust out and i might also see if he can weld me up a shorter back box and a twin pipe a bit like one side of an m3 but my only worry with doing that is will it effect any kind of performance doing so Going to be ordering all my other parts soon aswell for the front end Its just the stupid weather im really waiting on now
  11. Looks like they might have it back , im not a hater but the last season was a bit of a drama , more acting than a car program That trailor does look good tho clarkson always makes me laugh
  12. I think you have the right idea but when i did mine before i used sand paper all the way up to 2500 grit wet sanding And as far as im aware the metal will always be dirty even if you wipe it Try not putting as much polish on there and if it gets a bit sticky put a bit of brasso on there to wet it , after you have done it with the blue/brown polish use a polish past like the stuff in the tubes you can get from halfords , once you have got a finish your happy with use some lime powder ( i think thats the stuff ) as it will bring out more of the dirt ( again i think ) and then once the wheel is done wax the **** out of it with a really decent was like collonite to keep the **** out other wise they will dull off and pit very quik especially in this weather and the **** amount of salt they put on the roads
  13. Sorry forgot to get a pic up ill try today if it stops snowing
  14. I agree with the cold air , can definatly tell its winter especially on a really bitter cold night , cant wait for summer tho i cant remember the last time i went fully balls out in mine with the greasy roads
  15. 16. Well all i can say is that if your carpet is wet on top then it will be on the soundproofing underneath aswell What might make it easier is that until i took my carpets out i didnt realise whoever had the car last had cut them in to two seperate pieces alont the center consol so if you do that aswell it would mean only taking out the driver side interior wich would be easier
  17. You will have to take the carpets out smany way really if the sound deadning is wet then you will struggle to dry it as its so thick , plus it will start to stink , its the foliage seal that needs to be checked under the scuttle tray Iv just last week got my interior back in after a massive leak wich turned out to be my door seals that was letting water in but by the sounds of it its coming from the windscreen if your getting water near the pedals on the plastic Id say the best bet is to take every thing out thats wet , throw the wet sound deadning dry the carpets and then what i did was once everything was out i set a hose pipe up so it was pointing at the car and jumped in with my torch and waited until i could see where it started to apear from Its not the best but the interior comes out easy and it atleast gives you a chance to clean it all properly If your not sure on what to replace your sound deadning with check my build thread iv just done mine and its perfect
  18. Ah cheers mate i did ask vw but not for both sides so assumed they both must be obsolete Cheers dragon
  19. Love the jetta mate there old school and a nice set off wheels too , bet it shifts with the 20v in
  20. I know exactly what you mean mate tbh iv done my vr6 cover twice now as it does mark easy , the only other option is to powdercoat i think , its not going to be as shiney as laquer but it probably wont be as bad Have you ever seen chrome effect powder coat , iv seen with my own eyes (not off of a computer) screen the finish on some tvr wheels and it looks like hand polished parts but kinds better i thing , like chrome but more subtle, plus powder coat is more durable and can be waxed to maybe keep some of the oil and grime from sticking to .
  21. No i never laquerd it as i didnt want it shiny so i have to be really carefull with toppin up the oil and that , but id do the same with the manni unless your gonna powder coat it as it will just look to shiney , saying that iv never seen a laquerd one so i am just assuming Ill take a pik tomorrow mate so you can see
  22. Damn it im might just sack it of then and go to scrappy and trt and source two of another car that are a similar match
