Which are the widest OE steel wheels we can use on the Corrado VR6 5x100 PCD. I read somewhere that the OE Bora 16" Steel wheels are the biggest in diameter but not sure on the width of these? Are there any other steel wheel with the same PCD & bore fitment? Lastly.........can one add spacers to stcok steel wheels. (Just to get them stick out a bid instead of banding steel route) Thanks in advance!

This is by far the best compilation on anything & everything related to the generic VR6 heating issue. Thanks to everyone who have contributed especially to the originators of this post! :clap: My issues.......but first the current specs. -1992 Corrado VR6 , Manual, Engine spec AAA US spec, With A/C,Milage 72K Miles.Stock car except for Samco hoses (installed by previous owner) -Recently changed the Radiator Fan control unit to the OE VW uprated part no. 3A0919506 (10 pin). -Now the radiator fan kicks in directly only at the 3 speed. The fan does seem to kick in at about 110 degree C water temp.for about 1 minute only.Not enough for the temp. to drop. -The 1st & 2nd speed dont work. To remedey this temp. i have fitted an manual indash switch for the 3rd speed. If i dont use the manul fan switch the water temp hits 110-115 C,oil 110-120 C. -Switch the fan & the water temp stays on or below 91 C & oil at 85 C. Which seems to be normal from all that i have read here. - The fan dosent seem to run or I cant hear the auxiliary coolant pump after i switch of the engine either. -My mechanic says that the radiator fan motor's speed controller thingy (apprently mounted on back of the motor itself ) is bust hence i dont get 1st & 2nd speed....? Any ideas...? Thanks in advance

Details as requested Make - VW Model - Corrado Year - 1992 Engine size/type - 2.8 V6 (Currently 75,000 miles on the clock) manual , with A/C Any mods - Stock (Well just installed the OE updated 10 pin Radiator fan control modeule) Type of use - Daily drive. 40% of that stuck in traffic or slow speeds. Additional info (max oil temps, current oil used) - Current oil used by previous owner is Castrol Full synthetic. Average ambient temp is 90-95 F. A recommendation for engine oil please?

I have similar oil temp on my 92 VR6 with 75K mles on it. Yesterday out side temp approx 84-87 F ambiant. My oil hit 116 F.(without AC) What oil temp. is when you really have to get worried...? The engine is stock. Just replaced the Fan Radiator switch. I guess my radiator fan motor speed unit is bust & works only in top speed. I have a manual switch to get the fan working sooner.

Thanks guys. The reason i asked is i have 18" almost new tires frm my Audi A6 (I got ABT 19" for A6) There was some one locally the 18x8.5" with the 5x100 fitment. I have coilover so the car can me lowered as much as i like. Its best i do a test fit & check for clearence. If not just go the treid & tested 17" way. Thanks

Can 18x18.5" wheels with -44 offset fit on 92 Corrado VR6? Or will they require arch rooling..? Thanks in advance

Interetsed in getting the 17" Rota slipstream wheels for my 92 VR6 manual with 5 studs. What are the recommended specs? What is the maximum widths u can go for front & back in stock fenders.? Dont mind a slight stretch on the tires. Offsets? etc
