the fuel pump casing is leaking from the top, around the two hose connections, have renewed pipes but still leaking. could it be cracked? it looks like the plastic is bubbly and brittle
-
right then. I tightened the screw and it still leaked. Removed whole pump assembly and the leak seems to be coming from these two pipes. The in and out i gather. On closer inspection and after tightening the clips i noticed there is splits running thru the length of pipe :( is there any other way apart from replacing the whole pipes and how hard is it to do.
-
right then. Had a closer look and the screw is blocked by the pipe. Am i gonna have to remove it and am i gonna get covered in petrol .

the c failed today. Not too bad tho. Rear tyre has a lump. Rear bearing is rough. Number plate lights not working. :confused4: just took em out and they came on. :D Leak by petrol pump !!!!! Questions. How hard is it to do a wheel bearing what is likely cause of petrol leak. Had a look and the black box thing looks wet but all pipes seem fine. Is it hard to fix thanks in advance

hi all. My c is off the road :( awaiting a tyre for mot :pale: but anyway the other halfs vw sharan failed mot friday. Emissions and front upper strut mount. Simple i thought new top mount and bearing and a lamda . Went to do top mount today and found the whole top part of the strut rusted majorly . The nut has become one with the thread and is no way moving. I know its gonna need cutting or somethin any ideas ? Garage advised wife it was the lamda causing the emissions and she went and brought one. I havent picked it up yet. Could it be anything else :confused4: car has been a bit sluggish then quickly picking up latelty. Oh its a 2l 8v y reg

have read on a few sites that they do this on a g60 in usa. They put a jumper between the abs wire and earth and the abs light flashes the code. Anyone ever done it or know what the wire diagram for the fault reader is
-
hi car was due mot yesterday but abs light came on and stayed lit on thursday so had to cancel. Now off the road :( is there a way of flashing the error codes or do i need vagcom. I used to have a bmw e30 and you could join two of the pins together on the service plug and the codes would flash out on the light. Car is a 2l 16v

to check the drainage pipes you have to remove headlining and you will see a pipe at each corner. Remove the pipes and poke a wire down to make sure its not blocked.a old bike brake cable with a nobble on the end is great as it dont damage. Mine was cracked from where the pipes go on and i could see water stains on the roof side of the headling. Headling is easy enough to remove. Couple of screws at front on a pillars. Undo coat hangers and passenger pull handle. A pillar covers come off. Pop out the rears no real need to undo seat belts.prise off sunroof edgeing and the sunroof switch cover and light. Now with a bit of playin the head lining should pull forward and down towards footwell. The back pilar covers should act as runners. Refitting is a reversal as they say. One for drying out your carpets faster is try to find someone in the glass trade and ask them for some dessicant. Its whats stops your windows from misting up. Put it in a breathable container and leave. It abosorbs all the moisture out of the air so on a hot day your car is full of dry air and can dry out better. Rather than staying moist and muggy. Other than that try a vax or rug docter they are great for sucking out water. I dried mine out with dessicant and leather chamois put a couple under and over they hold a lot. This was a quick reply. Lol . :)

hi. My leak was caused by the sunroof drainage channels being broke. Water ran down around windscreen. Past fuse board and into footwell. Before i traced it back it looked like the door seal had gone and water was comin thru the door. Take the head lining off was the advice i got from here and i found the problem good luck
-
yep headling out. Drivers sunroof channel snapped off bodged repair. Same for pass rear. Actually had two leaks!!!!! Sealed up with silicone. Out breakers tomorrow sunroof is no good anyway
-
no car has not been apart. It has had a bit of water in drivers footwell now and again but after the downpour it was soaked. Seen water runnin down inside the a pillar and traced it as far as behind the drivers sun visor. Havent taken roof lining off yet to investigate further. Thinking about it car was parked on a drivers side camber when it peed down.
-
would putting some silicone around front screen rubber matter. Does not seem like a very tite fit

sounds like ive gotta take the linin off then eh. Been a bad week for the C. Heater controls broke but have been repaired. Abs light stays on. Thought it had two mths mot left its got two weeks. Now needs brakes all round and the leak sorted. Four wheel allignment needed and at least two tyres and a smell of fuel when i turn it off. I think it may come off the road soon or im selling my n97 for funds.
