Hmmmmm, i'm definatly a little jealous!! Just fitted My Polyglass 165 V2's And they are great!!!! Got the crossover set a little high i think, but ill change that at the weekend, I also Have MB Quart DKD146 at the rear, Good sound quality but not that bassy. a bit too high maybe. but should work fine when i get a Diamond 12" sub and the Rocky amp i'm after! 8) I always thought that it was better to run the mid from 3 ways, halfway up the door rather than the tweeter under the mid. that would just sound odd to me. I used to have an idea a while ago of running a 6" woofer in the door, with a crossover feeding that and instead of a tweeter in the dash, run a 3.5/4" 2 way speaker. Ithought this would be a good way of making the sound more complete. I was told id be wrong and was turned of the idea by a couple of people. I then read somewhere that the installer for Infinity used to do EXACTLY the same thing for EXACTLY the same reason! Ahh, Gutted :( Oh well, Still fancy trying it but i think i'll just play around with the Focal's settings at the mo. (Mainly because Focal dont do 4" 2 ways from the same range!) But Hey. CD Player next !!!

thats what i reckon too

They definatly look very smart! Saw them on Nik patel's C whilst it was gettin the dents removed. Wouldn't say they look better than the inpro classics (NO, I'm not biased ) I just think they have many factors to consider. ie, The FK versions wouldn't suit my car. The in pro's IMO Do. It depends on you r wheels, body colour etc... Just my 2p

dubster82 replied to brookescourt's topic in Engine Bay
ahhh  I have heard of some people spraying a silicone based spray into the charger for protection. I didn't see this as a good idea! Am i wrong?... Again  -
Tyres? 205/40 Without a doubt!!!!! No real bodymods should be needed, might rub a lil on your inner wing, nuthin major

REMOVING BOOST RETURN PIPES AND FITTING CONE FILTER IN WING?
dubster82 replied to brookescourt's topic in Engine Bay
Well you've just made alot of sense but the pics would help me understand too. Looking at a diagram i understandablerather than looking at a mass of black, pipes, black wires and black pipes!!!! LOL As for the twin intake, it makes sense, but wats the point? surely you're loosing out on boost by doing that? Doesnt it also help oil the inside of the charger? -

hmmm, Does it dilute it enought o make a difference?, the same goes for the heat thing? Whats the deal with the second intake then? Could someone make a quick sketch off all the plumbing with the IC, charger, intakes, manifold, boost pipees etc..? Would help alot in explaining it to people that dont get it!!! -
Who's going from aberdeen? Roddy? Paul? Ross? Any definates? I quite fancy it. Never been. Went to inters, might as well give this a look

REMOVING BOOST RETURN PIPES AND FITTING CONE FILTER IN WING?
dubster82 replied to brookescourt's topic in Engine Bay
Right, im confused by some of the G60 tuning to be perfectly honest. Surely its better to re route the boost return pipe right back into the inlet manifold to run on basically constant boost, then Run an actual dump valve to stop the pipes popping off. As far as im aware, thats how Pau1 did it, and that thing was a bullit!!!! And how exactly do you run a second intake? And why would you want too? I dont understand where it would go. Very Confused! -
How different, and hom much?.......

Right, for starters, it's Br-I-A-n, Brian. Not Brain. thats whats in your head. Second, the Brakes. I got them from my local accessory shop. Try http://www.tarox.com for more info. They cost me about £250 for the front, they'll be about £150 for the rear if you get the cheaper 'Monza' Discs
-
Cheers They are 280mm Tar-Ox 'Japan sport' discs and fast road pads. They are excellent. look smart, i love them! Upgrade to brembo 4 pots soon enough i hope though! 8)

Once you undo the screws, pull it towards you and awy from the number plate, there is a litlr plastic 'pin' that fits into the bumper. HTH

Well, to finish up the thread. My C is now running 205/40 Pirelli P7000's Due to the holidays, i couldn't see me getting the P-Zero Nero's on time so got the P7000's for £105 fitted per tyre. A bit expensive. it was from budget, but i was in a hurry. For anyone interested, these are VERY good tyres IMO. Im well impressed with turn in now, the car runs quieter, handles better, better in the wet, and the tread pattern looks cool too! I will buy another set of pirelli's after this and may even put them on my golf when it's finished! Highly recommended. http://www.pirelli.co.uk/en_GB/tyres/ca ... uctid=2113

though the strange thing is that you have to remove one of the towing hook hook covers for one of them to work!!! :? so they werent that good at designing them either!
-
EXACTLY!! TWITS!!
-
Easy, they're twits! probably saved them money.

G60, No, I'm not saying that at all. Im saying the fixings for the lights are the same. I know the bumpers are different, hence my mentions of the late and ealy style bumpers I know that the swage line curls up on the early bumpers and carry's on on the late spec versions. However, did you know that the G60 bumper is unique in the sense that it has vents for the brakes to be ducted. apparently all the other bumpers are closed vents. of course there is also meant to be a vent for the intercooler that probably 99% of G60 owners dont have! bazgreener, No probs mate!! if you di it, i doubt youll have any problems, though my VR grille DID go staight in....

Chris VR6nos, Your right there!!!!!!! Went out for a drive last night and WHOAAAA!!!!! I CAN SEE!!!!!!!!!! :D :) 8)    :evilbat:  :turn-l:  :thumbleft: I think the fogs are the same as your. Probably should be anyway. If its late spec. i think all '93 cars were weren't they? bazgreener, Yes they do sit more flush, giving a more modern appearence whilst looking very clean and neat inthe bumper. What i used to notice was that when people got they're RS (or similar) bumpers they used they're old lights. And then i started to see some late spec cars using the bumpers, i noticed that they just did the same knowing fine and well that there wasnt late and old bumpers in different styles. The last straw was seeing Late bumpers with Early Fogs and indicators (John Kerr's nugget yellow C _ due to crash damage). What i had realised was that the late spec stuff used a spacer to achieve the look. After Buddha put up a post about custom lights i noticed that the spacer is in fact attatched to the late spec fog!!!!! :!: and when i saw them on show on the GPC stand at inters, well that was it!, i though sod it, and did it. Looks cool. Car looks like a late spec car now (i already had a VR bonnet) and my olds ones were shagged anyway... I'll get some photos up asap. When fitting, there is a small panel behind the fog that has to be knocked/cut out to make way for the new larger unit, but thats all. Piece o pi$$.

Well, Since i really hate Pagid, id say go for the black diamond stuff, they also seem t get good write ups too. Seems like a good price too. My TarOx stuff works out at around the £250 mark. Though the Brembo 4 pot Cupra R setup ill be getting next looks like it will be well ove £800!!!!! And the PD Motorsport rear 280mm setup i want! 8) Still, better to stop than not!
