Visible Differences between OE/SCHRICK/VW VSR manifolds
dubster82 replied to chargedupstorm's topic in Engine Bay
thought hte VGI aND the VSR both had un equal tract lengths, which is how the increase torque lower revs. if the were equal on the VGI swapping over at 4000 revs wouldnt make a blind bit of difference and would be some waste of 2 grand. you can see the VGI and the VSR both share th same one straigh one kinked for extra length of the same design, so i dont think Schrick could of done much more than figuring out how to cover the spark plugs to save cash!! -
is it the top 3 bulbs that have stopped working? and di you have them out at all?
-
youd get away with an 8 on ET25 i reckon but 9's wouldnt go on past the strut, apparently, 9" wide on et 15 is quite close to the strut at the moment anyway.
-
before the guy gets all confused here.... 9x16 with a ET15 offset, do not use spacers. will cause major hassles. Use 10mm spacers tho on the ET25 9x16's to make them the equivilant of ET15. You'll have to roll the rear arches either way or get funky with Mr. Hammer, tho it really depends on how you drive it. and get some coilovers, the struts are thinner, or your wheels will scrub against your suspension, you dont want that. HTH
-
awww.... thought this thread was gonna be about the biggest spekaers EVER!!! 9x 16's fit, as its been said a et15, whack ona ten mill spacer and your golden, tho i know they require coilovers im not sure if its the front or the back thats the issue

Changing 1st and second gears on my corrado g60
dubster82 replied to the_croft's topic in Drivetrain
didnt you get a shorter final drive too tho... ? -
the way VW did it is to use a different throttle body, as the Charger is always on positive boost, and the engine doesnt require it so therefore it bleeds off through the flap on the throttle body. as soon as you plantt he foot the flap on the throttle body closes and the boost is used straight away.

Buying a Focus tonight.... Advice?
dubster82 replied to Louie Lungbubble's topic in General Car Chat
Focus? burn it. hateful, hateful cars. felt like the most plasticy car id ever driven. utter rubbish. Buy a Leon. love em. -
i cant see the problem here. The G60 engine like its been said is the ol trusty 8v engine and there great wee things. ask the normal questions but as to see receipts on charger rebuilds, coulld of had a new one even,, it might of had a head rebuild it could have had a good few timing belts etc. make sure it aint smoking, everything has been changed whilst it should and the price reflects the age of the motor i can see ya having much problem to be honest.
-
mine did that. was only the water pump. 25 quid whilst the charger was out gettin rebuilt anyway.

how exactly do you make a 30v 6 cyl then.........
-
erm my spec was Stage 4 K&N panel modded airbox 68mm pully ported a flowed head ported and flowed inlet manifold Full zorst system with no cat Remap Schrick 268 cam 3.5 bar FPR which isnt a million miles from yours and it makes 200... at the fly!! mine made 150 at the wheels, so to me at least yours sounds about right... or is that just me ? STD 160 bip figure is an at the fly figure.

please tell me your kidding.......

it is the same old polo with a bum and nose job.... Its just a revised version to keep in the corporate face of the new passats and golfs etc before the all new polo comes out ina few years. and its not VW, its excat same thing every manufacturer has done for ever to keep there cars looking fresh and selling.
-
why tho? its one argument i cant understand. do you think your wheels are going to just move 1mm towards the caliper? ar they suddenyl going to melt some and touch it? .5mm is a gap and itll stay the same all day every day IMO As it is tho, i like your idea ont he speacers and i guess im in the same boat as my wheels aint standard either and too require spigot rimgs. do you think you could get a set made up for me too ? Cheers PM if more appropriate :)

and the people that say they know what they'd rather have... have they evr been on a bike? and i mean a proper sports bike be it a yama haha R 6/1 Honda's CBR's Suzuki's Gixxer's ? im guessing no. but a bike being driven properly is one of the biggest adrenaline rush's you'll ever experience and i for one love everything about bikes. im not sayin bikes are for everyone but no poin slating them til you've been on one cause it could completly change your mind. Like BC student says,t here not practical and the car is essential, thats why nikes have to be looked at the way there meant. sheer indulgence
