After buying a new Scirocco last year and only putting 500 miles on the Corrado in a year, I’m sorry to say it’s definitely time for her to go. I also feel sad that she lives in the garage most of the time. Someone will love doing the little jobs I keep putting off as the car could easily be brought back to show standard with mimimal effort. She has never let me down and starts/runs like a dream. If I could afford to run both cars I would but I can't justify it any more. Summary: * 24V conversion done by PSI in 2005 -http://www.psituning.com/page.php?xPage=corrado24v.html * Engine 76k miles * Car 141k miles * Tax Oct 2013 * MOT May 2014 * Owned since Oct 2007 - done about 23k miles * Full VW/VW specialist service history * Original manual/service book and two sets of keys * Over £9k spent under my ownership with all receipts (see list below) Good Points: - Just been MOT'd with no advisory notes and it didn't need much to pass, also just been serviced; - Always garaged; - Car has been maintained regardless of cost and is in superb mechanical order; - Leather interior is in great condition; - KW V1 Suspension; - Recently fitted new heater matrix and radiator; - Engine work done in diagnosing slight misfire; - Spare rear lights (red tinted), de-badged grill and various spare badges. Bad Points: - Sunroof only tilts; - No door lock pins (never replaced them when I changed from de-locked to normal handles); - Blowers work on all speeds but not every direction (new bowden cables needed); - Alloys could do with a good clean up after being used the past few winters; - Paintwork needs touched up in places (typical for age of car). I've tried to be as realistic as possible with the price of £2600 and think it's a steal at this given how good this car is. All the car needs is a little work done on the exterior and it would be close to perfect again. I'm open to any sensible offers. Any questions just shout on 07447 600 398 or email me at [email protected]. VR6 | Dark Burgundy Pearl - 24V | Edinburgh Price: £3300 Description: It's a sad day but after buying a Scirocco (2010 DSG 170 tdi) I need to sell my lovely Corrado as I can't afford to run both. Did think about taking her off the road for a while but she wouldn't like that! Summary: * 24V conversion done by PSI in 2005 - http://www.psituning.com/page.php?xPage=corrado24v.html * Engine 75k miles * Car 140k miles * Tax Oct 2012 * MOT May 2013 * Owned since Oct 2007 - done about 22k miles Good Points: - Just been MOT'd with no advisory notes and it didn't need much to pass, also just been serviced; - Car has been well maintained regardless of cost and in the last year has had new radiator, heater matrex; - Leather interior is in great condition as I really look after it; - KW Suspension. Bad Points: - Sunroof only tilts; - No door lock pins (never replaced them when I changed from de-locked to normal handles); - Blowers work on all speeds but not every direction (new bowden cables needed); - Alloys could do with a refurb; - Paintwork needs touched up in places (pretty typical for age of car). This is the main reason for the drop in price as I reckon the drivers door will need resprayed. I am genuinely gutted to let her go but after 5 years of ownership and the fact I now have a Scirocco it's time to let someone else enjoy her. Generally I've had no trouble with her at all. She did develop a bit of a flat spot at the end of last year and after changing various things (fuel pump, maf, injector) it turned out to be the valve stem oil seals. Well that's what the garage who charged me over £3k to fix the flat spot told me! I fell out with them over it because they told me it was one thing, changed it, made no difference and kept adding it to the bill...... Anyway, the upshot is that the flat spot is gone and she now runs sweet as a nut again :-) I have a spreadsheet of all the work I've had done and by the previous owner so can email this on if need be but I've added it as pictures anyway. There are also some pics of the car from last summer but will try and get some more recent ones posted once the weather improves. Probably not this weekend as taking the Scirocco down to Custom Code for a Phase 1 remap and DSG remap :-) I've tried to be as realistic as possible with the price of £3300 and think this is pretty good considering the work done recently. I'm open to any sensible offers! Any questions just shout on 07748530972. Cheers, James

Cheers man. How much you looking for the set?

Hi, I've been having a few problems with my rado (has the 24v 2.8 conversion from a 4mo) recently and after several visits to my VW specialist they've finally decided that one of the injectors needs to be replaced. It's been down on power for a while with a bit of a flat spot. They changed the fuel filter, pump and relay and tried a new MAF etc but nothing has worked. The fault on the diagnositics is the solenoid valve and there are no faults with the relays for this. Anyway, the guy I deal with is struggling to source an injector. Part number is 022906031. Can anyone help? Cheers, James
-
Yeah the 24v pulls much better, especially low down in the revs. I had two 12v VR's before this one and the 24v is so much better. If you're ever in Edinburgh I'll take you for a spin and you can see for yourself.
-
Hi, Has anyone on here put a supercharger on the 2.8 24v engine? Just toying with the idea and looking for some input, especially on the costs involved! Cheers, James
-
Good point. Will have a look to see how much I can get one for.
-
Hi, A lorry kicked up a stone which smashed the passenger headlight on my rado (94 VR) so looking for a replacement. Anyone have one going? Cheers, James
-
My thoughts exactly!!
-
Well I've finally got the rado sorted! I ended up taking it to PSI in the end as my garage up here couldn't even source a replacement ecu and I'm so glad I did. It turns out that the rad switch had gone which caused the overheating in the first place and the overheating blew an ecu relay. PSI found the problem straight away and was such an easy (and cheap) fix. Think Andy enjoyed seeing her again! Was a bit of hassle getting it down there but I really enjoyed driving her back up. Forgot how good a car it is :D Anyway, I did have her for sale before I had the problems and I reckon I'll advertise her again, maybe!
-
Yeah I'd get another ME7 ecu from somewhere and just swap them over. You say you've got a custom code running on it so they should install it on the new ecu for you for free? (i'm fairly sure Revo do) edit - ecu can't be more than £200 secondhand surely? Only thing I would ask is what made the ecu go pop? Best of luck mate, I'm loving my 24v at the moment so much so I'm amazed so many end up selling them! Cheers for that. Will wander up to the garage just now and see what they say re sourcing an ECU. The reason for it going pop is what is concerning me most!! I reckon if I'm forking out to get it fixed I'd rather just keep her but we'll see. Not sure if I'd get any interest in a car needing an ECU :-(
-
I dunno, just thought that PSI would be the best folk to sort it out. You any ideas how much a 24v ecu costs? It's not that big a deal getting it down there if I can do it through my AA cover.
-
Right, my local VW specialists have confirmed that the ECU has gone, bummer!! So now I have a dilemma given the fact I had her up for sale - do I get her fixed (anyone have an idea of costs for a new 24v ECU?) or do I try and sell her as is, for someone else to fix? I was originally after £4k but I don't know how much it's likely to cost to fix so not sure what a reasonable reduced price would be or if anyone would actually be interested? Any advice/opinions appreciated. I've been in touch with PSI and just waiting to hear back. Ideally I'd like to take the car down there but not sure of towing costs from Edinburgh to Stoke. It's making me so sad having a broken Corrado :-(
-
Cheers for the replies peeps. Just waiting to see what the garage come back with and take it from there. If I do have to pay £££ then I'll probably just keep her......which I guess isn't that bad! Maybe it's a sign

Hi all, Having a bit of a problem with my rado just now (24v conversion). She cut out in traffic the other day and wouldn't start again (and still won't). I did noticed the oil temp going up and wondered why the fans weren't coming on. Just as I was thinking that she cut out and wouldn't start again. Anyway, ended up getting the AA out who had no joy and they put it down to an ecu fault as they couldn't read anything from it. The car turns over but there is no spark going to the plugs. It's now in at my usual VW garage and they also think it might be the ecu as they can't read it either (never had any issues with it before). Just looking for any ideas really?? Any questions just ask as I may not have described it very well! PS How much is an ecu these days?
-
I've got Stan's old one. Had it for a couple of years now and still loving it. Wish I had the cash for a turbo but will keep saving and trying to persuade the missus it's a good idea
-
Cheers Matt. I just ordered the V1's as couldn't justify the extra £300 for the V2's. Should be here in about a week I hope :-). Bushes and ball joints are on my list of other parts to replace. Can't wait to see what she drives like with the new set-up!
-
Does anyone know the cheapest place to buy the KW V2's from? Have looked around plenty and all just over a grand. Definitely going to order some........hope they're worth it! Also, if I'm revamping my suspension what other components should I think about replacing at the same time?
-
ALSO 10% OFF WITH THIS CODE ( KAFFE1746 JUST ORDERED MINE) JUST ORDERED PHILLIPS FROM THERE Just done the same as HID kits are rather pricey. Hopefully these will do the trick
-
Seems a bit extreme! What's your reasoning bud?
-
My brain is sore from reading all the posts I can find on HID conversions so just a quick one........has anyone bought the kit from here? http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/VOLKSWAGEN-CORRADO-89-95-HID-Xenon-Conversion-KIT_W0QQitemZ120305436354QQcmdZViewItemQQptZUK_CarsParts_Vehicles_CarParts_SM?hash=item1c02c346c2?. Or rather can anyone recommend a good kit? I have an uprated loom but the lights are still p*sh and can't take much more of the scary night time driving!

Cheers for all the help. It was actually the guy at Veedubs who told me the Mk3 tank would fit the rado. Anyway, looks like I've found one now anyway. KADVR6 - I'll post a reply on your for sale post to keep us right.
-
So you do mate. Only problem is getting it from you as I live in Edinburgh and I reckon postage would be on the expensive side. I've heard that the fuel tank is the same as that from a MK3 Golf, can anyone confirm?
-
Had a look through the suppliers forum (where I should have started!) so I'll be trying Veedubs in Gateshead which is closest to me.
-
Well I've FINALLY got round to saving up some cash to spend on the rado :) and the first I need to do is replace the fuel tank. I've asked my local garage about sourcing a new tank but they weren't very helpful. I've done the usual search on the forum but can't find much. Does anyone know where I can source a fuel tank for a VR6? Somebody mentioned a VW place in Newcastle before but I can't remember who etc! Also, if I'm changing the fuel tank should I change the fuel lines, pump etc at the same time? Cheers, James
