  1. hi there. you can get inline water filters that purify the water... or even the flash system if you just want it to drip dry? or Autoglym do a trade product called autogloss rinse that you spray onto a clean wet car, then rinse off with water.... i normally then dry by hand after that but i think you might be able to get away with letting it drip after that??
  2. let us know how it goes. I;ve used quite a few products but not used those before. Cheers
  3. Hi there. Nice white corrado. When you say faded?? obviously white doesnt fade .. like say a blue or red would. So im guessing it just looks dull? If i was going to do it personally i would use a machine polisher and a mild finishing polish to give it a real crystal finish. The i would wax it to maintain that finish. If your doing it by hand you could try Autoglyms super resin polish. Very under-rated. It contains cleaners and fillers and also a sealant. If that sorts it and makes it look better then you could use AG extra gloss protection on top of that to give it a longer lasting finish. For the best finish though i would go down the machine polising route. Also moved to car care
  4. at the end of the vid... did he loose to another car or something??

  6. ah, it wasnt just me being over sensitive then.. there really was no point to it. Closing comment... is there much difference between spending hours cleaning, valeting, detailing or even spending hundreds in it... compared to spending hundreds on various air filters, engine components, light clusters, alloys etc. Some people like spending time and money on other things. It doesnt make it wrong.
  7. why all the hate towards those who either enjoy detailing their cars, those who make a living from it, or those who just like hearing about it or learning new things. If you dont care about your car enough to keep it clean then fair enough but no need to getting at those who do.
  8. looks amazing... so was that £20 worth of cleaning ;) Nice work again mate.
  9. I use Autoglyms PM3 TFR. I mix it anything from 10:1 to 1:1 depending on how bad the car is and what other work im carrying out. Too strong and it will take off wax and if im not doing a big re wax job i dont want to take any previous protection off. Not much you can do wrong with the PC baring throwing it at the car. Its a pretty safe tool. Yeah i'll take a pic at some point. Its pretty full. 600L of water Honda Generator Vacuum Petrol Pressure washer Machine Polisher Freestanding spot lights Soon to have a full size wet weather canopy in there too Then all the chemicals, polishes, brushes, cloths etc. Its pretty full and drives more like a boat than a fire engine.
  10. Saw this on another forum and thought it was a good idea.. i got my prices from pistonheads.com in the clasified section not sure on the exact costings but i'd like New Audi S8 with all bells and indeed whistles £100k New Audi RS4 £55k Porsche 997 C2S £60k Porsche 996 Turbo £60k Porsche 993 Turbo4 £45k Porsche 964 RS £50k Porsche Early 80's 911sc £20k Porsche Carrera GT £325k Aston Martin DB9 £100k Range Rover 4.2 V8 Supercharged £60k Ferarri F430 £125k That comes to a cool £1millon Would probably drive the S8, RS4 and Range Rover on a regular basis, the rest would be show cars / private collection.
  11. if its hologramming and not swirling then you shouldnt use a hig abrasive. Use a finishing polish on a finishing pad with a rotary or PC and it'll remove the hologramming and leave a deep crystal finish. When i do defect removal i use a harsh compound on a cutting pad to get rid of the deep swirls but it tends to leave the paint finish dull (although it will not have any defects now) then finish with Menzerna 106FF for instance on a softer finishing pad. this will remove any holograms (also known as buffer trails) and bring the shine right back up then all is left to wax it to protect the new improved finish
  12. technically... this is swirling and this is hologramming swirling is due to a poor washing technique and hologramming is a poor polishing technique or where a high abbrasive is used by hand and isnt broken down properly. Which swissol cleaner was it you used exactly? Swissol do 3 different pre wax cleaners and the harsher ones should be done by machine to be effective. The hand one works similar to AG super resin polish and fills the swirls. A very effective tool but not to be confused with removing them.
  13. to effectively do it, you will need a machine polisher. You could try something like Autoglyms Super Resin Polish. This contains a low cutting agent and lots of fillers that will mask the swirls. It wont remove them but will do a very good job in hiding them. Then use a good wax or even AG Extra Gloss Protection to protect the fillers otherwise they will only last a week or so. Good luck... you can always give me a call like we discussed ;)
  14. hmm. on a different matter i have just seen these pics are a bit large on a normal 1024x768 setting. I haddnt noticed before as i use 1280x800 on my laptop and i think 1280x1024 on my desktop. I'll make them smaller tonight for everyone else though... sorry.
  15. you still say Radiant and SRP are different. I still dont agree... i was told and from what i remember of retail SRP they are the same. I will buy some SRP from a store to compare with my radiant though. BUt im 90% sure they are the same product
  16. SRP.. super resin polish.. in the red bottle. i wouldnt have described it like you did. and what is AGR? What i learnt from AG headoffice and what i believe to be true from using the products is.. Super resin polish = Radiant Wax (trade name) - An acrylic sealant with a mild cutting agent and high amounts of fillers. Low duability Extra Gloss Protection = Liquid Hard Wax (trade name) - no cutting or cleaning agents. Technically a sealant with some wax properties. Not a natural wax, although when layered leaves a very nice clear finish. Paint Renovator (violet colour retail green colour trade) - Medium cutting with machine or hand then the body shop range.. i use 03B - high cutting compound. The newest one is Ultra Deep Shine (black retail bottle) but i havent used it yet and dont know much about it apart from conrad at AG said it containes no cutting agents?!?! Im confussed by your description of SRP. i'll ask the AG rep when i see him next
  17. well either he is blowing smoke up your ass... or conrad, one of the co developers at autoglym is lying? I spent 2 days with him on the autoglym course. No one else was on the course that week, just me and him and i spent most of my time grilling him about all kinds of products. AG, swissol, zymol, megs etc etc. We even did car with some products from his private collection as there was no one else there and we seemed to get on well so he was showing me some other non AG good quality products. To be completely honest i havent used SRP in ages because i have radiant wax by the tin load. I will have to get a bottle and sample it again soon me thinks.
  18. Yeah the quick clay is good. The AG radiant wax is the same as super resin polish. IMO a brilliant product that is massively under-rated!
  19. 3corsameal, i use the Microfibre one. Its the square white one in halfords Dr Forinor, Some megs stuff is good. I use the #7 show car galze for instance and Last Touch detail spray and the Clay. But most of the other products... i prefer AG. The trade products come in better sizes aswell and are priced well.
  20. well for a start there is less chance you will drop it and gets grit all over it... and yes i do think it is better than a flat surfaced sponge where grit cant get trapped between the paint and the sponge and cause damage.
  21. dont say sponge! its a swear word ;) i use a megs wash mit.
  22. With my work, the big expensive jobs are one off or 6 monthly ones. I tend not to do many 'quick' wash's, rather i try to educate people on how to maintain the look and finish i give them with the big job.
  23. pimp mobile... Had some cool gadgets inside though. DVD player with screens in the rear and in the drivers rear view mirror!!! so you can watch DVDs while driving!!! the rear view mirror screen doubled as a reversing camera though.
