i quite like the wheels actually. especially in anthracite... supra.... too big and expensive to run. skyline... to jap... rx7... have you been inside one... worst designed interior in the world! they should have made it a 2 seater! not aimed at you ;) well the cup version is only 50kg lighter and 0.2 secs quicker to 60 but alot rarer. the normal 182 is easier to find and 90% of them have the cup suspension upgrade and cup spoiler upgrade so apart from 50kg.... an upgraded 182 is the same as a 182 cup! -

it'll brake down. end of story ;) thought about an integra type r..... maybe next year though as i would want the DC5 version and there still a bit pricey i'm 6'4" and although i would love an elise there just too bloody difficult to get in and out of. Maybe as a second car in a few years when i have a house and a garage.. so i can keep the roof off it and just jump in the top -

hmm. i knew i would get this sort of response... one thing this forum is very bad for is being very narrow minded when it comes to other cars. Where is the fun in owning the same car your whole life. Look back to the stick i got when i was gonna buy the s3... 'dont do it, its all soft and rolls around to much'... and it ended up being the best car i have owned.... miles better than the corrado could have ever been. The fun part of life is trying new things!!! after all.. i'm only planning on keeping it for a year and then swapping and trying something else... maybe an elise or a tvr... i want to have a new car every year! im a car enthusiast... not just a VAG enthusiast. H8RRA, i hear what your saying about the nugget... i wouldnt touch one with a barge pole.... but the blue is just to boring for my liking and the orange isnt that 'burn your eyes' in the flesh. Auto trader is already over run by blue ones. -

rs4 and rs6 while a nice thought are a bit out of my league at the moment.... well the rs6 especially. i want something for under £10k now that will still give me loads of fun. I dont mind so much if it doesnt do 160mph and 0-60 in 6 like the S3.. just want something that is pretty nippy and bags of fun. i think the clio.. although it is french... might provide that. I dont really care what badge is on the front either... im no snob.. i like any car that car provide the fun and satisfaction you should feel at the end of each journey. -

true.... but then variety is the spice of life.... i have been driving 6 years and this will be my 6th car! I'm going to test drive one on saturday so i will know more then if it is a car i could really own. -
OK.. since loosing the s3 to the scrap yard in the sky i have changed my mind daily about the next car to have. some days i think i'll stick with the pug and save some money... other days i am getting loan and insurance quotes for the e46 m3 i promised myself. this week though... i am mainly wanting a clio 182. So firstly.. im sure you all gonna give me a hundred reasons why i should by one... made from recycled bog roll i think is mr haywire favorite expression when talking about a non VAG car.... but if anyone shas actually been in / driven / or owned i would be interested to hear some well rounded advice. secondly.. which colour.?? girl in the office thinks the blue is girly and my girlfriend thinks the orange is girly personally i like the orange best as it seems to be the less common. Inferno orange (what a cool name  ) Arctic Blue (imangine it with the anthrcite wheels as thats what i would be getting) DISCUSS :!:

i havent read the whole thread but insurace wasnt all that high for me... maybe its my postcode... you can see my list of cars from my signature. crx - grp 12 - £1200 TPFT - CIS vr6 - grp 18 - £1200 FC - Adrian Flux S3 - grp 17 - £740 FC - Direct Line you just have to shop around and price match different companies (even if you never got that cheaper quote in the first place)

thought the article was piss poor actually.... yeah great car but this was 90% clarkson going oooohhh and aaaahhhhhh. not one of the greatest. Top Gear need to stick with the amazing photography and film work but put some of the info and actualy reviewing a car back into the show! -
haha yeah it would be funny if it was just some random guy called stig.

.Rich., on a pda you need the tomtom 5 software and then the tomtom car kit to match your particular pda.
-
tomtom gets my thumbs up. i use an ipaq 2210 and tomtom 5 car kit but its exactly the same as the all in one tomtom go systems. Never had any problems with acuracy and the 5 digit postcode lookup is a great improvement over tomtom 3. tomtom 5 also has a POI warner built in.... then download the GATSO database from pocketgps.co.uk and you also have a very competant speed camera warning system all built in.

if it is the D8 you want to make sure the cambelt has been done (if it needs it) because its an expensive job compared to the D9 which is alot easier and cheaper to do due to the redesigned inlet manifold. you know the v6 has brembo calipers aswell. quite expensive replacement discs though if your looking for a cheap run around.
-
well my dad has the 210bhp v6 406 saloon (same engine, gearbox etc) and he gets between 25-30mpg with mixed driving.
-
the D8 model has the 190bhp engine and the D9 has the 210bhp engine. only difference apart from the engine was a very slight cabin redesign. only real way to tell is if the hazzard light button is just above the heater vents (like in that pic) then it is D9 and if it is lower than than on the dash then it is D8. The D9 engine had variable valve timing although it wasnt publisised much by peuget for some reason. Its a nice engine and a nice drive but the interior is a bit plasticy (coming from the audi) i have a 406 saloon HDI at the moment as a tempory car but am looking out for a coupe HDI as a more perminant 2nd car

interesting review. MK4 R32 is actually one of the cars on my hit list to buy now the S3 has gone. Seeing that the new MK5 sounds a bit naff though ... maybe it wont affect the 2nd hand price of the MK4 like i was hoping it too.

Crash Bang Wallop... What an accident
jedi-knight83 replied to jedi-knight83's topic in General Car Chat
thanks for all comments guys. yes it was for sale for a while... partly because i wasnt that fussed about selling it and i turned down quite a few offers around £12500-£13000 and partly because i was asking above the average because i felt it was in above average condition. anyway i have just accepted £13250 from the insurance company so its all done now. not too sure what im gonna do about a car now. I just bought a 406 hdi as a temp car. good MPG and its comfy (if not slow and boring!) I still have plans to move abroad so now the car is gone i may just bring those forwards a bit. other wise i'll probably get an M3 next year....the E46 one of course! -
*cough* S3!!!!

nice pics. what camera are you using? i just bought the fuji s9500 and the pics are amazing.... put them through level adjustment and sharpening in photoshop and you have yourself some pretty pro looking pics!. ...shame i havent got a decent car to photograph at the moment though :( -
haha too true! i drifted away to some other forums recently and carried on with the same humor and behavior that i use on here and a few of them banned me and most of the others PM'd me to tell me to behave!! lol any chance of a hi-res version andi.. i want a life size model that i can sit in!
