  1. detail to come on the 19 / 20 march. unfortunately the 993 gt2 has been sold... but the 996 gt3 is still to come along with an e30 m3, 3.0CSL, merc E190 evo etc etc
  2. Arrived at 8:30 this morning to find a relatively clean Boxter. In the early morning sun you could see the swirls and lack of any depth though. Wheels cleaned with AG wheel cleaner and Tar & Adhesive remover. Car pre sprayed with AG PM3 TFR and pressure rinsed. Then shampooed with AG shampoo and conditioner. Then clayed with sonus green mild clay and taped up and moved into the garage. Then a few tests with the rotary using a megs polishing pad. The car had received paint down both side and the paint was showing approx 300um and 120um on the boot and bonet. The 106FF did well but i stepped up to ip3.01 and this removed 99% of the marks after 8 passes at 1700rpm (slowing down to finish of course) Borrowed a friends tripod so took som action shots as i worked around the car. Didnt get round to taking many detailed shots but this was the boot which was one of the worst areas. before after Then i took it back outside to wash again to remove all the polish dust and residue... and another action shot with my new favorite toy... at AB foam lance Then i used HD cleanse on every surface which left a lovely glossy finish. Took a long time though as it was quite sticky today. The out with the wax which was concours. Applied by hand and allowed to stand for 60 seconds before removing. Some action shots.. (notice the LONG fingers.. it was a slowish shutter and my hands were moving fast so they looked stretched.. there not really THAT long ;) ) Anyway did all the finishing dressings, glass cleaned with HDC and then also waxed. Interior cleaned and leather fed with gliptone liquid leather. Wiped down the car about 90 mins later with optimum car wax (instead of field glaze) and these are the finished pics... 11hrs later i got home. Thanks for looking. Nathan
  3. thanks for the compliment. I do consider myself to be in the higher end of the detailing sector but there are loads of others doing a job just as good as myself... they dont enjoy the photography or showing it off on forums as much as i do though so you rarely get to see their work. I COULD come to KLynn but i'd charge a bit extra for travel. Maybe PM me an address and postcode and we can work something out
  4. yeah it looked fantastic. i saw a white S3 the other day aswell and was chatting to a guy with a white lamo gallado aswell.
  5. Much the same as Saturdays detail. Pre wash with AG TFR, Shampoo, Clay with Sonus Green Clay, Inspect paintwork and correct the odd patch of swirls and some odd random scratches (audi making a hash up of removing the transport film??) then SRP, EGP, Collinite 915, Glass, Leather, tyres. Really enjoyed the past 3 days working with brand new cars. All 3 customer could see the benefit (and im not blowing my trumpet here)... but the benefit of having a pro detailer do the work compared to the dealer. The dealer wanted to charge the customers £300+ to apply 1 layer of paint sealant... and im sure we can all imagine how much care they might put into that job. I certainly dont see them spending 7hrs plus on one car. Anyway.. im waffling...here are the photos.. not brilliant ones as it was low light and bad weather today im afraid. sorry the write up and photos arent quite as good. thanks Nathan
  6. This TT had been collected on the 1st and had been driven around a little bit prior to my arrival. After having a good look around the car (which is really really nice) it was on with the job. Car soaked with TFR using the AB foam gun. Then clayed (even new cars can be dirty), SRP and then out with the EGP. I have used EGP a bit in the past but having moved on to other products it has been put to the back of the shelf. Great product though. A little bit hard to remove (especially on a white car... really hard to see where it is!) but well worth it. and its very durable. Some arty-ish pics during the EGP stage Then i applied some collinite 915, cleaned windows in and out, conditioned leather, dressed the tyres and took some photos :) The white looked stunning once it was finished and came alive when it was in the sun. The owner was very pleasant and watched the WHOLE 7 hr process. I got quite alot of interest in the carpark (which was full of nice cars... something called a dino... ??? ;) ) One young guy asked for a quote so i washed it and checked over the paint. Will be returning for this car in April but for now just a Regular Valet. Cheers Nathan
  7. Hi just back from a long weekend... write-ups to come... I clay first as the car had been driven about for a day before i arrived to do my job. Although most panels came up clean it did pull some dirt off and just ensures the whole car is as clean as possible. As for the charge... when you consider a dealer charges £300+ to apply 1 layer of a paint sealant.. My charge for the whole day and taking much more care in making sure the paint is clean before applying anything is more than worth the cost.
  8. actually 2 coats in the same day is bad. because the 1st coat wont have cured long enough the solvents in the wax used to soften it will take off some of the 1st coat when you apply the 2nd coat so basically your doing 2x the effort and product for the samed end effect as 1 - 1.25 coats. Best is to apply coats 24 hrs apart
  9. have to wait and see wont you ;) i can say its having some zymol applied to it though.
  10. of course... there will also be lot of pics of the other car that im excited about ;) Its a Porsche.... :D and its pretty special!!
  11. Todays detail was on a Porsche Cayman. It was delivered to the customer yesterday at 8am and has done 173 miles. The brief was to give it as much protection as possible. The Porsche dealer quoted about £400 to apply the lifeshine! Bit of a rip off seeing as they would literally wash the car > dry the car > apply lifeshine product with little paint prep or finishing wax etc. So... my day was as follows 6:30am alarm goes off and im in the van leaving by 7:10am. Arrived at the customers at 8:50 and was greated by this.. Obviously having only done 170 miles it wasnt dirty really. But the paint wasnt really shining. ANyway... pre washed with PM3 TFR though the AB Foam Lance. Shampoo'd with AG Shampoo and Conditioner. Clayed with Sonus Green clay... Then i applied a layer of Super Resin to give the paint a further clean and to give a prefect base for the following layers. It also did a great job of giving a good shine. Then out with the Lifeshine.. Bottle A was the paint protection and was applied just like AG Extra Gloss Protection. Left for 15-20 mins and then removed with an MF cloth. This gave a really good finish.. alot like EGP actually. Bottle B was the interior protection which was sprayed onto all interior carpets and wiped onto the seats via spraying directly onto an MF and wiping onto seats. Bottle C was the glass protection. Applied and left for 15 mins and removed with a damp cloth. Bottle D was a screen wash addative. Anyway.... on with the job.. Next up was some good old Collinite 915 wax. The owner at this point was really appreciating the difference between a clean car and a shiny car. All dressings applied and ready for some photos... my favorite part :D Owner was very very pleased with the results. Finished by 4:00pm and then helped him clean his other car. Arrived home at 7:00pm Got a busy March. got the following cars booked in for full day details. New Audi TT Another New Audi TT Porsche 996 GT3 Porsche 993 GT2 Porsche Boxter Aston Martin Vanquish Vauxhall Monaro Nissan Skyline GTR34 plus a couple of other special ones ;) thanks Nathan
  12. Good Evening. Arrived at a new customers at 8:30 this morning to give his 4 cars my Regular Valet and to assess what work they may need in the future. The S4 also had the leather cleaned and fed. The process for all the cars was as follows. -Pre wash with AG PM3 applied via my new foam gun (which allows the TFR to dwell for much longer which means more cleaning power).. and rinsed -Wheels cleaned where needed with AG Wheel Cleaner -Shampoo with AG Shampoo and Conditioner and rinsed -Apply AG Autorinse Gloss and rinse -Clean glass in and out with AG Glass polish -Dress arches and tyres -Vac interior and wipe surfaces and apply air freshener. For the S4... -Leather cleaned with AG Leather Cleaner -Fed with Gliptone Liquid Leather Finished the day at 5pm. Customer very pleased and i'll be returning monthly. The pics... 2006 Range Rover 2007 Aston Martin Vanquish (300 miles on the clock) 2004 Audi S4 cab (pics dont really show up just how dirty the leather was! Kids + muddy shoes = very dirty silver leather) 2006 Land Rover Defender Final shot... Thanks for looking. (sorry its a bit long but no doubt most will enjoy the pics.) Nathan
  13. well i feel the condition in and out of my car and all the extras and colour combo is worth the price im asking. Yes prices have dropped due to the new S3 but i cant stand the new one and im sure there are others out there feeling the same. I'm also not in a desperate hurry to sell at present so the price wont budge very much from that. cheers for other comments
  14. cant say at the moment but if it goes through.. all will be announced soon enough. id just rather use money i already have than take out extra finance to pay for the investment so the car must go... i think.. it DID take ages to find but i can always get another one or better in a few years once things take off.

  16. marcus, the collinite 476s i have had on my S3 is still beading up and sheeting water off after a quick shampoo wash after about 4 months and shows no signs of wearing off. Washing and drying is a joy as its so easy. The 476s i used on my friends 911 has been on for 5 months now and is also going strong. Both are daily drive cars and live outside. The 915 i have only been using for about a month so durability hasnt been tested by myself although from all the recommendations i had... its just as good and looks slightly better on the dark colours. I conditioned the sides and backs of the seats inc the little pockets in the back of the front seats. The sides and back are different to the base and back though. I dont think the sides and back are real leather and feel alot tougher and look more wrinkled. the conditioner can still go on them fine.. but they just look different... I buy my collinite from Tim at http://www.cleanyourcar.co.uk Always had next day deleiver from him when i order before about 5:30pm. hope that helps
  17. Hello. Been a while since ive done a big full detail but have done this 406 over the past 2 days. Ok so its not the most exotic or luxurious car but the owner still wanted it looking top notch. Started with the usual thorough pre wash including all the shuts and arches etc. Then Shampoo'd and Clayed. The swirls werent actually too deep but there were lots of them. Polished with a Megs polishing pad and Menzerna 106FF. 1 pass at 900 rpm to spread, 8 passes at 1500-1800rpm to remove defects, 2 passes at 900rpm to refine the finish. After some advice from a fellow detailer i worked on smaller sections at a time and found this alot more effective. Still took over 4 hrs to complete the polishing though. Before > After pics Then applied Autoglym Super Resin followed by Collinite 915. This is the 3rd time ive used 915 now and compared to 476s id say its definately easier to remove and does give a slightly better finish on dark colours. Interior was vacuumed and all surfaces wiped. Leather was cleaned with AG Leather Cleaner and then fed with Gliptone Liquid Leather. Glass cleaned with AG glass polish and trims and tyres dressed with AG products. Finished Pics (shame it was low light as the 2 brief times the sun shone it really sparkled!) Got a busy few weeks coming up with the new 07 reg coming out. Got 2 brand new Audi TT's and a Porsche Cayman to prep. Also got a AM Vanquish, Ranger Rover, Land Rover Defender and an Audi A4 Cab to do this weekend... and a couple of Mini's in the pipeline. Watch this space...
  18. good work there Rob.. see how much hard work it is getting a car nice after its been neglected... and people get funny at my charges sometimes  dont worry ive not forgotten your PM about your corrado. Just got a couple of busy weekends coming up but i'll come and sort it for you soon i promise!
  19. ahh EGP is a great product. Its actually an acrylic sealant techinally but its a damn good product and ive used it on my S3 in the pase with very very good results.
  20. yeah just wait. took me a year to find another s3 i wanted to own. also i would say .. can you not get a short term loan so you can have the money sitting there waiting if the perfect one comes available. Sometimes you have to move fast to snap them up and being stuck having to sell your car could loose you the deal on the PERFECT car.
  21. get a private one from an enthusiast. will be better condition 9 times outta 10 and will prob also be cheaper.
  22. hi joby good work there. looking lovely now. What polisher did you use? Also you say about AG wax?? which product was this then as AG dont actually produce a wax. The super resin polish is a fantastic product though. massively underrated
  23. :turn-l: Fly out tonight to Treviso in Northern Italy and will be on the slopes of the alta badia region of the dolomites by tomorrow morning. Not been much snow since new years but all slopes are open thanks to many snow blowers! Look forward to catching up on events on the forum when i return. Be Good... Nathan
  24. herisites, Collinite 476s and 915 are 2 different types of wax. Both are non abrassive, non cleaning waxes and both last a long time vwdeviant, I wouldnt have said it was any easier or harder to use to be honest. Aparently it has a higher carnauba content than 476s and looks better on darker colours... that said the 476s didnt look bad and without doing a direct comparison it would be impossible to tell which was better. If only from a cost per gram issue though it works out the same as 476s so i'll continue to test and use on darker cars. Whats the postcode your moving to? I'll travel anywhere but travel cost might make it cheaper for you to use someone closer?
