  1. you got your work cut out there, looks like a scary mess of wireing! this might help if you print this off, http://www.a2resource.com/electrical/CE2.html
  2. not sure if theres an easier way but my headliner was removed because i welded up the aerial once thats out the way you just unplug the switch at the front and then remove the bolts holding the whole sunroof assembley to the roof and pull off the drain pipes in each corner, its easy and one person can do it, once the headliners out your see exaclty what needs to be done, first before all that i would open the sunroof all the way and have a look at the gutters from the outside in, you can see the front 2 pipes aswell from here, infact i should probably do that myself lol
  3. not sure about the drains as when i removed my sun roof for respraying i cleaned everything out and re fitted the drain pipes and then a few months ago when my corrado was sat out in the rain for the first time since its respray the sunroof was leaking , the sunroof headliner was damp around the rear and was dripping onto the drivers seat , prior to that i didnt have sunroof leak problems so i need to remove it and have a looksy, i dont think my problems the drains, yours could be P.S where these new wheels? ;)
  4. yea just thought i should warn others reading it, which air fed mask system you got? thought about it the otherday as i might be doing alot more painting next year and wouldnt mind cutting out the risk altogether.
  5. my test wheel arrived today, need to get a spigot ring for it to take it to vw size then going to just sit it in place with my 15 or 20mm spacer and see how it looks and then decide if i want to commit to sourcing another 3 and then the pcd adaptors, im going to refurb it all gloss black and clean the bolts up , as i dont realy like the look of polished lips with a black centers, if i dont like the look of it im going to get a clock mechansim and turn it into a rather nice clock for the workshop wall :) is it a 40 profile tyre i need with 17's?
  6. theres like a button underneith the cann when you hit it it breaks open the hardner, never used it before as iv allways used the stuff in tins for the gun but just know about it, http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Mipa-2K-2PACK-Clear-Lacquer-400-ml-Spray-Aerosol-/261100134335?pt=UK_Body_Shop_Supplies_Paint&hash=item3ccac7dfbf please do your research about isocyanates before useing 2k paints though, it is very harmful, so your gona want to use an organic vapour filterd mask atleast and good ventilation is a must!
  7. good work dude , if your gona use spray canns idd recommend you finish it off with 2k clear in aerosol, atleast then aslong as you put it down wet enough you will have decent gloss and durability especialy for the visible areas in the engine bay.
  8. good job! all red rears lights would finish that backend off nicely..
  9. he might not be bothered by haven to redrill one hole on the wheels hes got on..personaly idd buy a new hub
  10. just looked into redrilling my pcd, seems like theres two different size vw wheel bolts, older mk1-mk2 wheel bolts is M12 and the newer ones are M14 so just re tapp your buggerd hole to m14 and run the newer wheel bolt
  11. long shot but maybe theres wheel bolts for other makes of vehicles with slightly larger diameter wheel bolts so you could re tapp that hole to suit, obviously replaceing the hub is the best option here but i think if you could get an m12 steel stud say 70mm long and skrew that into the hub and weld it in then finish it off with a wheel nut like this would be the next best option http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/16-x-ALLOY-WHEEL-NUTS-LOCKS-FOR-FORD-KA-1996-2008-LOCKING-BOLTS-LUG-P8-/221054484516?pt=UK_CarsParts_Vehicles_CarParts_SM&hash=item3377dfc024
  12. m8 in all honesty your best off leaving it by the sounds of it, think your money would be better off spent else where especialy seeing as you havent had the corrado long problems will soon show themselfs, maybe do the brake pads and discs? oil and filter? wheel bearings? vr6's are strong motors! and will have a slight tic tac noise compared to other engines, unless its sounding like a tractor or somethings seriously wrong idd leave well alone otherwsie your be regretting spending money on something which you might not ever reap the benefits from unless its a keeper, but if you do want to go down that road get the clutch done at the same time ,
  13. obviously i dont know your circumstances but tbh most vr6's have a little noise, is this your first vr6?
  14. arch work for sure on the rear atleast, with 9 et15 you got half an inch gap to the strut so your be fouling the strut big time with them , and with camber would make it even worse
  15. good job dude!!!!! thought about building a little wooden shed?
  16. looks good! is that a vr6? they got wider track so might stick out abit more on mine , iv just brought one rc041 for now off ebay at a good price posted, so ill use that and see what needs to be done, you have 40 profile tyres?
  17. looking at my options for wheels, seen quite a few of these available at very good prices, obviously the fittment is an issue but theres ways around it, shame there 17 and not 16 :( though anyone had them fitted? or seen them fitted to a corrado? http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/BMW-E36-M3-SPLIT-RIM-STYLE-BBS-ALLOY-WHEELS-4-OFF-17-INCH-1998-RC041-AUDI-VW-/170946664674?pt=UK_CarParts_Acc_Wheels_tyres_Rims_Car_Wheels_ET&fits=Car+Make%3ABMW&hash=item27cd3718e2

    RPM Problem

otherwise does the car run smooth when you put your foot down? if so i would look at the throttle cable mechanism on the throttle body, rev it by hand and make sure its returning properly , iv had air leaks before and that makes the car run like crap, i guess it depends on how much its leaking though , worth a looksy edit: also make sure the throttle bodys clean on the inside, just remove the rubber intake boot and look at the flap and clean the sealing surfaces if covered in oil ,
  19. thats a good shout on the colour! could well be , its not that noticable realy , just the scuttle looks a little darker then the rest , i had a vr6 swap in mind for the mk2 as iv got my old vr engine just sat there and its something i wanted to do for awhile but adding the money up for other bits n pieces im looking atleast another £500+ that im never going to get back on it, im thinking from the sale i could get myself a nice black leather interior and the wheels iv allways wanted with a little extra to play with :) oh yea found out why the golf had a running problem, think the abf motor was sat outside prior to the previous owner installing it , moisture had built up inside the spark plug tube and corroded that crap out of it,
  20. thought idd post a pic or two , still aint got banded steels :( my temp insurance has run out on the corrado and driveing over here right now is absolutley horrid! so no point insureing it again until the weather cheers up , only one thing to sort out from the conversion which i found out from driveing these past few months and thats the vss signal to ecu , it still drives amazing and i could leave it as it is tbh but the rev limiter kicks in at 5.5k revs because it doesnt see a signal from vss, iv been informed on what to do so its no big deal, would like to sort out the interior soon aswell, sorted a few things out on the mk2 but i want to sell it as these cars are just money pits! better i focus my attention on haveing one good car then going bankrupt on two half assed projects
  21. tbh im just happy everything else works as it should, think with every conversion your going to loose something and gain something else in the process, mpg on mfa is a small price to pay imo, so it is related to the mk4 clocks then?
  22. dont get me wrong , nothing wrong with roof racks they do have a purpose but looking at some pics iv seen on the net seems like some people buy them as a fashion accessory just like the bra rather then what they were designed for ,
  23. disgusting i hate seeing these! especialy on a parked car, and people think there cool? i can see the point of one but the type of person that thinks about buying a bra for there car is usualy thinking about buying a roof rack aswell, both of which have no place on a corrado or a golf unless you realy need that roof space in which case invest in a different vehicle, rant over lol
  24. well three conversions are reading 99.9 so it must be a true reading then, worth while conversion just for that idd say, realy not sure if theres a simple solution to get it working as it should, might have something to do with needing to use mk4 clocks>?
