I'm not to far from you either, i have a mechanic friend that knows the vr engine like the back of his hand ( well pretty much lol) he has been in the vdub seen for years and has done some pretty nice golfs in his time, and i expect if i ask him nicely and he's avaliable he would come along and have a look, but i'm can't make promises on his behalf but it is always worth a try lol

spotted 2 today the first was on a drive along oxshott rd at about 11.30am was a dark colour thats all i saw as i went flying past!

The second was on the M25 going clockwise near clackett lane at about 12.20pm i think the reg was G333 VRT or something like that as it wasn't hanging around and i was going the other way, oh and that one was a dark colour too.

spotted this in eastbourne yesterday

spotted a dark coloured rado on the bagshot rd in bracknel at 6.50am not sure what breed but the plate was K** DJR looked liked it had angle eye head light or something simular

i may well have some carpet that might help you, i will have to dig it out and have a look at it,

very good idea and alot cheaper than replacing the column, the only thing that i might suggest is that you use a locknut as the last thing you would want is it to loosen off whilst you was driving!!

The first one is taken from my golf which is slightly lower than standard, the second is from my works transit and is slightly brighter! which is the effect i wanted to give vans, lorries and 4X4's a heads up that i was breaking! as my car is lowered and i was concerned that the standard brake lights would not show up to them properly.
