  1. Got a strange squeaking/creaking noise with my rado which seems to be worse when reversing on full lock. Had previously thought that it was an engine mount but this has been replaced and have still got the noise. Not sure what to check next but think it may be suspension or steering related, could it be the top mounts are goosed? Cheers, Peter
  2. Definitely interested, can you possibly send me a picture of the door if you have one? Thanks
  3. Hi, Looking for a driver's wing and door in flash red. Must be in excellent condition with no dents / rust (for a 95 vr6). Cheers, Peter
  4. Decided to change my sidelights on the Vr6 today and one of the sidelight bulbs was difficult to remove. Long story short, I now think I have broken the sidelight bulb holder so was wondering where I could get a new one? Have looked on ebay, Euro Car Parts and GSF but haven't been able to find one - not sure if the dealers is next place to check? Cheers, Peter
  5. Thought I would add my feedback as well, received my loom about 4 or 5 weeks ago but finally got round to fitting it today. It replaced an ebay loom that worked for approximately a day and then left me with with no dipped beam. First impressions were great, quality product and the fitting instructions were brilliant - for a non technical person like me it was simple to fit and worked first time so that I now have lights I can actually see with. Can't rate this highly enough - cheers Kur2y!
  6. Are there any of these switches left? if so id take one please Cheers, Peter
  7. Thanks monzablau16v. The loom only has 1 relay but did look as though it was wired up incorrectly so I decided to change it as you mentioned and it now seems to work as expected. Unfortunately after the lights were working the car wouldn't start which I thought was initially a flat battery (I had tested the lights without it running). I attempted to jump start the car but this didn't work (the rev counter shot up when I tried to start it) and now when you try to turn it over even the coolant and oil lights don't flash like they used to. I am wondering if the battery was borderline and me mucking about has made it give up the ghost or could I have blown some fuses somewhere (e.g in the immobiliser)? Am thinking that with my limited knowledge I probably should have left well alone and am now wondering if an auto electrician is my only hope (don't want to tinker anymore in case I really break it)?
  8. Ok, so got an hour to look at this today and discovered that full beam works fine, dipped beam still doesn't work. Checked the fuse in the loom, the fuses in the fusebox and everything looked good. Checked all the connections, replaced the relay with a new one and also replaced my head light bulbs and the end result is exactly the same .......no dipped beam. Am is missing something or could it be the connections are incorrect on the relay?
  9. Hi, Just got an uprated headlight loom fitted to my car while it was in getting a mot etc done. Picked it up today and tested the lights tonight and I only seem to have sidelights (no dipped beam) although the full beam does seem to work when you pull the stalk back (won't stay on though). Unfortunately I am useless with electrics but have done a few searches and it would seem like the most likely cause is either a failed relay or some fuses - does that seem right? I did have a quick look under the bonnet (it was raining heavily all day) and I could see what looked like some blue corrosion on the relay so not sure if this is likely the cause? Any help would be greatly as it would be nice to see in the dark for change!! Cheers, Peter
  10. Hi, As seems to be common with a lot of other corrados, I have an issue with the ABS light intermittently coming on on my VR6. Obviously with my MOT due in about 3months, I would like to get this fixed as soon as possible. The problem is fairly intermittent - 50% of the time the light will come on when I start up and then go out as normal, and the rest of the time it will stay on and occasionally even come on in the middle of a journey. I have had the fault codes read using VAGcom and the codes were as follows:- Address 03: ABS Brakes 9 Faults Found: 00285 - ABS Wheel Speed Sensor; Front Right (G45) 35-00 00290 - ABS Wheel Speed Sensor; Rear Left (G46) 35-00 00287 - ABS Wheel Speed Sensor; Rear Right (G44) 35-00 00290 - ABS Wheel Speed Sensor; Rear Left (G46) 16-00 - Signal Outside Specifications 00287 - ABS Wheel Speed Sensor; Rear Left (G44) 16-00 - Signal Outside Specifications 00283 - ABS Wheel Speed Sensor; Front Left (G47) 04-00 - Mechanical Malfunction 00290 - ABS Wheel Speed Sensor; Rear Left (G46) 04-00 - Mechanical Malfunction 00287 - ABS Wheel Speed Sensor; Rear Right (G44) 04-00 - Mechanical Malfunction 00793 - Brake Pedal Position Sensor (G100) 35-00 The previous owner already had the ABS light problem investigated by a VW specialist who discovered that the ABS ring was out of shape which they straightened out and thought had resolved the problem. Unfortunately it doesn't seem to have worked and I am just wondering where I go now? From the fault codes that have been generated, it looks like all the sensors have thrown up errors but surely if that was the case then the light would be on all the time. The last code is for the Brake Pedal Position Sensor so I am wondering if this may be the actual cause of the problem and I should try and get it refurbished by DG Autotech? Cheers, Peter
  11. Thanks Fishwick, will have a look at this. It has never jumped out of 5th gear so hopefully all it needs is a bit of adjustment.
  12. Hi, Have currently got an intermittent problem when selecting 5th gear on my VR6 (it sometimes crunches before fully selecting). It has been like this since I bought the car a few months ago and will sometimes select fine and other times crunch before eventually selecting. There is quite a long throw when I select 5th gear and was wondering if adjusting the gear linkage may be able to resolve this issue? Cheers, Peter

Hi, As per title, just seeing if anyone has a spare MAF for a late model VR6 (1995)? Must be in good working condition. Cheers, Peter
  18. Definitely interested, give me a shout when you have finished reconditioning it.
  19. Looks good, presume there is no damage/rips?
  20. Aah, tell me more. And based in Scotland too...........
  21. As per title, must be in excellent condition. Cheers, Peter
  22. Hi, As per the title, have been having idling issues with my VR6 when warm. Only had the car about a month and was originally having issues when it was cold and wet but a service and new leads/plugs seemed to sort that. Under normal driving it is fine but was city driving today and when I came to a stop at traffic lights, the car would occasionally rev up 1250rpm and then down to 500rpm. It would then idle normally but then drop revs again when I tried to pull off sometimes which made it a bit tricky. The engine was quite warm at the time (had been sat in traffic and was 19 degrees) so not sure if this a symptom of the ISV needing replaced or just cleaned? Cheers, Peter
  23. Cheers Knightrider/CazzaVR, will check em out
  24. Hi, Looking for advice on where to buy clear side repeaters that actually fit? Bought a couple of sets of ebay and they have either broken or are poor quality which won't fit. Cheers, Peter
