[ATTACH=CONFIG]94555[/ATTACH] Well turns out the car I was told the head gasket had just went two months ago was not true, the engine is goosed cylinder head no usable and engine needs a rebore. Reading about this some people say that the engines are noisey after rebore. Planning on getting Stealth to do any work as Vince seems a good guy and knows his way about the VR6. Bit gutting I will have to throw a fair but at this project as building something else (above) and planned to use a VR6 in that too Ross

Will there be much difference from a rebore to rebooting out to 3.1

Anyone know approx costs to bore out to 3.1?

I remember seeing in the past a 3.1 conversion on a VR6 but assume this would be big money? What do people expect a rebore to cost? If I could get a Cylinder Head? Ross If not the car has potential to end up in the scrap heap in the sky. If the car had corrados and aircon that would be different. Or any ideas what putting a 3.6 in it would cost Ross

Anyone have any advice, bought a Corrado VR6 from Jersey was told the head gasket had went in the last month, it handn’t. Appears it’s been sitting for some time with water in it and cylinder head goosed and not usable and one cylinder has been sitting with water in it too and has some corrosion. Car has done 79000 miles cloth interiour. Any suggestions from people car currently sitting at Stealth Racing.

Couple of questions I take it the engine number is on the block rather than the cylinder head! Also anyone have a 2.9 cylinder head Ross

Hi Certainly not in it to make money but don’t want to spend £10k on a car worth £5k. Saying that I bought an S1 Esprit which will be worth about £70k when done but have no plans to sell it and will no doubt be the same with the Corrado. I just have to get the wife on board that 5 car is not a lot compared to some other people as I still want to get an RS4 Cab at some point Ross

Yip think I will just let Stealth go to town on it at least then hopefully it will be right. Is it worth replacing any bushes that need done with power flex ones

Not sure I thought about keeping it for a while and maybe longer term but I don’t want to spend £3000 on mechanicals and £500 on tyres and possibly another £1500 on painting it when the car would only possibly be worth around £5000 at the end of the day.

Just looking for opinions what’s is a grey Corrado with no leather worth, car has 79k on the clock with 20 stamps in service book. One previous owner and one trader from jersey and now me. Car came from Jersey and the bill to get car U.K. road worth is really high. I am just looking to see if I go ahead and get it sorted what’s it worth. The car is solid with no rust other than needing some dents removed and I will probably get some paintwork done to make it mint. The slam panel has a small dent in it and the grill is also cracked. Just need to know if it’s worth giving the car a new life or not

Think I have decided to stay with black handles and black grill. Anyone got a good condition non rusty front slam panel they are crazy money from classic parts. Ross

So would it be a full new slam Panel I would need if I wanted to replace it?
