4. Fantastic.. Another DBP looks good with the early grill and small bonnet.
5. Wow that does sound hectic, don't panic to much yet. Anyone got a sunroof motor they have for sale and could bring along mines shot to many solder joints bad can't really repair/bodge. Just found out I've got to go out on Saturday night my mates moving to America and I can't really say no, wanted a straight head for Sunday oh well Ill still be there:gag:
6. Wow amazing car even with the speedlines on! Great cleaning work in the arches, im putting on my list of things to do, bet you got some real satisfaction out of doing that!
7. Over the last week ive refurbed my rear wheels DIY style, I did the front wheels in October before the new tyres went on the same way. There was quite a bit of corrosion under the paint which I ground out I then flatted it all back and painted and lacquered. Before After

9. Nice work going on here mate, just had a scan through the thread and am looking forward to seeing what it all looks like back from powder coating. Guy

11. A few people seem to be after doing this job so might aswell tell you the prices I got from VW and GSF VW GSF Full wishbone £117 £35 rear wishbone bush £17.50 £9 front wishbone bush £10 £3 ABR bush £3 £1.50 drop link £27 £11 ball joint £30 £11 Thats all each and not including VAT The only thing i got from GSF were the drop links and the ball joints, All bushes were from VW which I think was a wise choice. And obviously I wast going to pay that price for a full wishbone from VW and I bet the GSF ones were crap so that's why I just did the bushes. Then the 4 wheel alignment and camber set up was £80 which was a kick in the balls but that seems to be the rate everywhere. So your looking around £200 for the full job.
12. I used a anti rust primer made by a company called cromadex but I recon it wouldn't matter to much as long as all the rust was removed first. Macdaddy there is a difference as it goes in a perfectly straight line and steering feels perfect. That's only after I got the camber and tracking set up. Well worth it though for the piece of mind. Renshaw use my pics if you want haha just reverse them or something no one will know.
13. Im up for this. JJB soccerdome facing chill factor is where other clubs have been meeting theres alot of room there over to the right, they get off kicked of costco and krispy kreme gets quite busy also.
14. Thanks you should make time for it pal its quite satisfying when its all feeling straight and firm. Guy
15. looks fantastic, very clean. my favourite colour also
16. finished of the wishbones and got it all back together at weekend and got 4 wheel alignment and camber set up this morning, its running very straight and responsive now. I ground as much surface rust off as i could then treated it with jenolite it turns all the rust white after about 1 hour sand it back again, then anti-corrosion primer then gloss black spray. The front bushes are a bit of a nightmare to replace but got them in in the end with perseverance. re-greased the belt tensioner too and gave the engine panel a new lease of life, did this a few month ago but just found some pics. 17. Cheers guys, yeah a meet would be good. I know what you mean about less work and the powder coating but I don't mind a bit of paint work plus the bills already mounting up.
18. hi all ive recently been overhauling the front end of my corrado, wishbones, balljoints, droplinks and anti roll bar. brakes, top mounts, struts and springs were all done about 6 month ago. the first problem i came across was 1 wishbone bolt was badly seized the N/S rear I manged to remove it by heating all around the top over the subframe freezing it didnt work Once i got the wishbones of discovered bushes were split probably why it was pulling slighty to the left. ABR bushes and the bar were in a bad way also. Front bushes were also bad, well one of them but i'll change both. Sheared engine mount bolt to add to the fun, didnt even turn it hard. managed to remove it by welding a washer then a nut to wind out when red hot. Cleaned up the original wishbones and treated the rust ready for paint and am waiting for the parts from VW, will finish of this weekend hopefully. 19. Good news got the bolt out in one piece with the help from the gas bottles. I removed alot of underseal from chassis and warmed it all soon came loose. I don't really like using heat on cars incase they go up not this time though, they need front and back bushes I'll see how much a full wishbone is from Vw anyone know? Also need ball joints due to ripped boot, anti roll bar bushes and drop links all Vw stuff not the Cheap crap, when ive got gsf stuff in the past always end up replacing it again. I'll get some photos up in the members gallery of "the bolt". Thanks for the input.
20. I'm taking it in work tommorrow and getting over the pit and get some heat on the situation. I've tried freezing it with wurth's rost off ice it's great stuff it's the equivalent to plus gas but didn't budge it. I'll let you know how it goes.
