Probably paid more than I should have......but my heart ruled my head! It was the best on offer for reasonable money at the time, of course some very nice ones have come out of the woodwork since then..........and I get very tempted!!

Bought blind......brave man! I went to look at this as it was genuine 72000 miler. It was covered in moss and had been cleaned by the guys mum......WITH A PAN SCRUBBER!!! She was keeping it "nice" for him in the vain hope he would return! I checked it over and although it was neglected there was no rot or accident repair work ever done on it........unlike EVERY other Corrado I looked at! I reckon Stevie Wonder has been real busy in the last 10 years using an angle grinder and arc welder down at "Corrado repairs are us!" So I fell for it with 2 days left on the mot! Hired a transporter and dragged it back from Glasgow to the sunnier climes of Worcestershire!? Passed it's mot after getting rid of the chavvy number plates and putting new discs/pads on the front. Just collecting new parts at the minute, it will look like new and go faster!

No everything came off fine, new pump was £25 off ebay, genuine one with metal impeller. Prob a 2 hour job if its the first time, 1 hour max once you know how. I can give you a simple list of what to do if you need it. Probably already on here but I couldn't find it, if it is.

Finaly got time to work on my VR6 that I purchased a few months ago. The car had been stood for five years as the owner had emigrated to Canada and left the car with his parents. Just spent two days compounding, waxing and buffing the outside. Stripping out the interior, and scrubbing the inside to death. Starting to look presentable? Oh and if anyone's interested in the wheels and tyres, I will be selling them.

Sounds like the water pump, changed mine the other day it was making an awful scraping noise. Not difficult to do.

Nice work Matt :thumbleft: -
I think most people feel the same about mot time, I know people who sell there car before it gets to 3 years old to avoid it. I always found with proper maintenence a VW would pass at least the first 6 mot's with no probs. My 96 VR6 passed a couple of months ago only needed new front pads and discs. So grit yer teeth and let the buggers poke it's sills with a sharp screwdriver!!!!

The "what I did to my Corrado today" thread...
Toohottotrot replied to Jim's topic in General Car Chat
Just changed the main water pump on my VR6, thought it was gonna be a real b*ll ache of a job! As it was the job is quite easy. Reckon I could do it easy in an hour, now I've done one. Steep learning curve coming back to Corrado ownership after 9 years away, my previous ones never needed mending! -

Other end of the scale to wendy.....When I had my first G60, bought at 2 years old I went to the builders merchant, opened the boot folded down the seats and said, "put 60 bricks in there!" The yard lads nearly fainted and refused, I had to do it myself! -

I ran 16 valve clocks in a VR6 for a while, the only prob was the rev counter which didn't read correctly everything else was fine. -
Spoken like a true petrol head!:thumbleft:

Looking good, I love yellow cars and the Corrado looks great with the black leather. -

Rev counter won't work properly for one thing, impulses from a 6 cyl and a 4cyl are not the same. -
No worries, I've been going to do this for ages. Amazing no one else had put it on youtube.

Yep Pat down to common sense really, it's in short supply though I hear. If your car is so bad that the sills won't stand this then might be time to sorce another one.....before your driving position is suddenly facing f**kin vertical! Think about a 2 post lift, the front and your engine is hanging over just like on this, where is it lifting on the underside, is that rotten too?

Spoof ad on here? Paul Jowett......pcjowett
Toohottotrot replied to Toohottotrot's topic in General Car Chat
To be honest after looking at pics that someone kindly sent me, I wasn't interested anymore. It was nowhere near as nice as I hoped. The thing that gets me angry is ignorance.........and my anger has had me in lots of bother over the years! Bills car does look good, but leaning toward my original idea of sorting the one I have. Not actually that much to do to make it how I would like. And I love modified cars, my rocco is testament to that. -

Yep it's gone since yesterday........I don't like ignorance, he could have said, sorry it's sold, no longer for sale, caught fire, scrotes nicked it......or colorectal surgeon's trying to remove it! etc. -

I still reckon this guy is having people on, either that or he's just pig ignorant. I've messaged him several different ways and even left a visitor message on his page, still no communication. Anyway he can reverse it where the sun doesn't shine now......and I don't mean his garage! Manners cost nothing! And yes he was only on here 2 days ago. -
Yep......think he was wrong on all points! Hamster lives near me.....gonna send trousers on toast for his boss! I will sort the video clicking noise, its the widget not the original vid
