Thinking of buying an MG TF 160, anyone had one ?
P3rks replied to daleyboy's topic in General Car Chat
Interesting fact: The 3rd brake light and wiring is from a VW. Stamped VW on the Hella rear light and on the wiring loom plugs. -
Me too! I've had three of those styles!

Polo GT/G40 leather steering wheel? Edit - It could possibly be a G60 steering wheel. The G60's came with the black strip under the horn push and the Polo's with silver.. According to the Club Polo boys anyway.

Out of interest.. What colour green is that?
-
As long as your are the original purchaser of the exhaust and it's still on the original car, then yes!
-
Sorry for the late Pictures.. but see the original post.

It is. The pipe work is mint and all the other components are great and ready to roll. The inlet is the standard faded/dirty like they all get but otherwise its all ready to go. I'll get some pictures for you tomorrow.

New brake lines are needed really. Effectively it's two long brake lines from the ABS pump to the rear brakes. I wouldn't leave the bias valve in place and wedge it open. The beauty about this system is that it removes the crappy bias valve which is just another thing to go wrong or trap air etc. The Teeves 20 system controls the rear bias through it's pump and ECU unit. It's faster and more accurate.

Pretty sure the sensor looms are there. Hold on, I'll go check. Edit: I have all the looms up to the sensors - the picture is just crap and misleading! :bonk: To confirm; front sensors are not supplied as they were seized in. But this loom plugs directly into your original front sensors which are identical. I have the rear sensors included in the sale.

I have for sale my OBD2 conversion. I've had this sat since the summer and I'll not be getting around to this anytime soon so i might as well clear some space and get some cash. This was removed from a 1997 MK3 golf VR6 which I broke and I was told that the ECU was chipped (the MK3 certainly felt much more eager than my Corrado!). This is a full conversion and includes everything needed: ECU All looms needed Throttle Body Inlet Manifold Inlet pipework Injectors Lambda Sensor MAF Key/immobiliser ring and wiring This is all in Sheffield for collection and I can post if need be. £300 or offers - nothing sensible refused.

Teeves 20 ABS system from a 1997 MK3 Golf VR6 This is a modern style ABS system which was fitted to the late MK3 Golfs. It doesn't use a rear bias valve, the ECU is built into the pump, it doesn't need a pedal position sensor and the master cylinder is aluminium, self bleeding and hugely available (brilliant, especially since the corrado VR6 one is obsolete). As a result it's a much more compact system compared to the Corrado's and it's much more responsive and reliable. Corrado users who have fitted this have said it produces a much better feel to the brake pedal and eliminates that spongy feel! Also, the Teeves 20 system can be bled using VAGCOM.. If anyone who's bled a VR6 before will know how much of a god send this will be. The reason I bought this is because I renewed all of my original VR6 brake pipes, calipers, pads, discs etc and was massively disappointed in the result because it didn't feel any better and was still spongy. About a month later I bought a late Mk3 Golf VR6 to break and the brakes on it had such a nice pedal feel - the feel was like night and day compared to my Corrado. I then researched into the system and found it'll fit. I've had this sat for 6 months ready but in all honesty because my current system is brand new it's not a priority to fit it until next summer. So maybe someone can put it to better use rather than rotting away in my cellar. This is the correct kit needed to fit to a Corrado. The system was taken from a 1997 Golf VR6 and was tested fully working before removal. If you notice the Mk3 Golf Servo (RH servo in picture) has a different fitting compared to the Corrado's (different spacing for the servo bolts and ball type fitting to the pedal). After some research and a LOT of searching I have sourced a servo from a very late B4 Passat which has the same Teeves 20 ABS system but also has exactly the same servo fitting as a Corrado. Included in the sale is: ABS Pump/ECU Wiring Loom Master Cylinder/reservoir Mk3 Golf Servo Passat Servo The last Golf Mk3 ABS system sold on here for £60 but considering mine has the correct servo (try finding another!) I want £100 which is more than it owes me. Sorry for the pwarp iPhone photo: This is located in Sheffield for collection but I am willing to post. Thanks!:thumbleft:

I haver some JBL GTO 528's - had about 6 months use. I only removed them as they came in the car when I bought it but I had some sweet ass Alpine ones from my old Corrado ready to fit. Yours for a tenner + postage.

I have one. Came from my 1992 G60.. Its the same as my 1994 VR6 - it's my spare I was saving for a rainy day (couldn't resist!). I have no idea what's it's worth though.. Make me a sexy offer! :camp:

I have one. £25 posted.

I have a good healthy G60 Block. I also have a cam. But no head or alternator. £50 for both. Collection from Sheffield, delivery can be arranged.

Yep, had the same here. It seems to be a recurring problem when going through intermediaries like P2G and parcelmonkey. It's a pain in the arse as all they offer is a refund and then for you to re-book with them instead of them doing it for you. Unacceptable customer service really. Thing is, every one of them is as bad as each other. I just had a parcel returned from Royal Mail which I sent about 3 weeks ago. It's just had the address crossed out in red marker pen, with an arrow to my return address which has been circled. No explanation or anything. the address was correct, it was printed so it's legible. I've contacted Royal Fail who have no idea what's happened and are refusing to refund me as they don't accept responsibility as they have no record of the item being retuned on their system.

Just to bump this old thread. In having the same issue. Does anyone know the fuse box plug colour/location?
-
Yep, this is the issue and the downfall when it comes to group buys using carbon fibre. The problem is the prototype, sample or first one off the mould. You need to have a almost perfect original to use, that original has to be prepared, then a mould has to be made. This work alone can cost £100's and £100's, never mind getting the first product out of it. I was planning on fronting the costs and the reason I want to start with the smaller, easily made (read cheaper to produce) parts such as the spoiler. Noted I'm unsure, it all depends on what the majority wants. They will 100% be late wings and they will 100% not have a lip on the inside to maximise wheel clearance. But personally I would want to retain a standard shape wing. A slight pull or flare could be possible as long as the original shape is kept. But it's not for me to say, I will have made what the majority want. Before I start making them I will get a vote. Totally agree with you. I'm not one for cutting corners and if it wasn't right I would not be going forward with it. I'd rather pay a little more and have better quality. But if I can pay less and still have better quality its a win win.
