  1. Yup! Still waiting for the G.Friend to get organsied and chose a weekend then I'll confirm everything.
  2. Update: Part number 1H0 412 359 is correct. They fit a little off centre but otherwise are a nice tight fit.
  3. £20 the pair? Are your locks dead or what? I can show you how to strip the locks and retain your original key too. ---------- Post added at 4:39 PM ---------- Previous post was at 3:52 PM ---------- Samco Hoses provisionally sold (to a Golf owner thankfully) Rich
  4. G60 front subframe, complete with wishbones, ARB and steering rack. Perfect to powdercoat and rebuilt or even as a working spare for your damaged one. £100
  5. Pair of G60 Driveshafts. In a great working condition. A little rough around the edges but nice and smoth operation with no suspect noises. No split CV boots and has had a recent CV joint on one of them. £50 the pair plus postage.
  6. Firstly apologies for the pap iPhone photo's, I forgot to take the DSLR to the lock up. I can get some DSLR ones upon request. Left over from my old G60 are it's boot and slam panel. The boot is in good condition with no detrimental damage or dents, a few marks here and there as expected. Working spoiler mech, blanked off window wiper and a good plastic number plate recess. £30 Next up a early style slam panel, once again good condition with no damage or dents, a few chips here and there but it's straight and true, especially a perfectly straight bottom section which goes above the bumper but below the headlights. £20 These will have to be scrapped in the next few weeks as they are taking up valuable space. Rich
  7. I believe it's a larg-ish relay (a black box) behind the clocks. I have read somewhere that the speed sensor on back of the clocks can also fail. Also, have you fitted a aftermarket stereo by any chance? The most common issue is that there is a wire which goes into the original stereo which give a speed signal. This needs to be unplugged into anything otherwise it disrupts the speed signal and stops the spoiler working.
  8. Balls.. Oh well.. MK3 Golf only then.. Front wings have rusted in the normal MK3 Places, unsure in how bad though, i'll rip them off and have a poke about. Both door handles are fully working as are the locks. Same key for both. Had a quick look and it's in a ok condition. Usable but a bit shabby in places. Pics shortly.
  9. Do these actuallyake a difference? Like a noticable one?
  10. If he doesn't have any spare, I will.
  11. Noooo! IS this first hand experience? No worries man.
  12. You're probably right, I've just been doing loads of research for the final drives so got too many numbers in my head. As far as I'm aware there were 3 codes for VR6 Gearboxes: CDM and CCM/CHN. Difference being the final drive ratio for one was 3.65 and the other 3.39. Unsure which came in which and what years. I think all Corrado's have the 3.39 though? But this would mean some VR6 boxes have faster acceleration? Edit: Ignore me, the US Corrado's had the short ratio VR6 boxes (CDM?) so their 2.8 engines matched the continental 2.9's in acceleration. So all VR6 UK spec boxes were the same: Source: http://www.turbo-conversion.com/16v-turbo-conversion/16v-turbo-conversion/54
  13. No worries. The Corrado kits come with two air pipes for the TB/ISV area which OBD2 Golfs don't require. As far as I'm aware. Major differences or subtle? Are they fit-able?
  14. Golf/Corrado Vr6 box with a G60 final drive is what you ideally want.. Belts, as in axillary? Yeah, just simply put them on, no aligning needed on that part.
  15. I use Chemical guys glossworxz for shampoo. It's PH neutral so doesn't strip wax off. I've used dodo juice born to be mild and supernatural, chemical guys maxi suds, megs gold, auto glym shampoo, turtle wax etc. And the glossworxz is the best all rounder. I use a lambs wool wash mitt and finish off with a huge fluffy microfiber drying towl. Polish wise I use farecla G3 or a combination of menzerma grades. Auto glym SRP is a filler polish which means it fills scratches rather than removing them, eventually the scratches will reappear using that. Wax I use Collinite 467s because for the price and durability it's unrivalled. Interior and exterior trim and tyres I use chemical guys VRP dressall. Wheel cleaner i use either autoglym customer wheelckeaner or dodo juice supernatural. Wheel wax I use Poorboys wheel sealant.
  16. 95 will be coilpack. It's got a plastic rocker which is desirable for a quieter top end, lighter too. I believe the 2.9 cams are higher lift so better top end. I believe the only difference between the 2.8 ad 2.9 is cams, inlet manifold, throttle body, ecu and bottom end bore. The Golf VR6 gearbox will fit but I believe the final drive is longer on the Golf box compared to the Corrado VR box, so slower acceleration. The Corrado box is more desirable as a result.
  17. Coilpack and dizzy engines are effectively the same. If the golf turns out to be dizzy, you only need to change the metal plate covering the cam chain on the head from the coilpack engine to the dizzy one for a coilpack to mount. Make sure you change the AAA cams to the ABV ones as they are higher lift iirc. As for maintenance when the engines out. I'd say clutch, cam chains inspected at the least or changed if you have the spare money, crank oil seal (behind the clutch) and any other seal where oil is leaking from (rocker cover or sump probably).
  18. It will, aslong as you have an OE size battery. I'll take it off today and have a quick look and post up some photo's. £12.50 posted sound ok? £22.50 posted, looks like its got a little fixing bracket included too. Part numbers are different and this engine is OBD2 where as all Corrado VR6's are OBD1 unless they have been converted. I have a OBD1 VR6 in my Corrado so I can match them up and take a look, but from what I've seen the top radiator hose is slightly different as the Radiator outlet in the Golf sits lower, I can't see this posing a major issue. Once the hoses are off I can put them side by side with my original Corrado hoses and see what's what. Price wise I'll be thinking around the £100-150 mark depending on their condition. When you say lights are we talking headlights? Foglights or both? If its just the headlights call it £100 the lot, plus postage.. But, I have had experience with posting panels and they arrived dropped and bent (mainly a bonnet was dropped so hard the very back corners near the windscreen bent 90degrees!) - I normally pack them in massive mountain bike boxes from halfords, 5-6 layers of bubblewrap or foam, secure each corner with more cardboard and then pack the box out with more cardboard or packing foam. Other than putting it on a pallet and wrapping it in a hard box I don't know what else I can do for packing them. Either way panels are not usually covered under insurance due to thier delicate nature with couriers. I would be more than happy to post them and pack them to the best of my ability, but I don't recommend it and wont accept responsibilty. It's your call though. Alternatively whatever the courier cost would be, I could make a trip to Newcastle at some point in the next few weeks as my girlfriends parents are from there, so it would be a little more worth while on my part. This way you'll get un damaged goods and I get browniew points :)
  19. It is. Fully working but needs new glass on both. Not sure what they are worth. Make me an offer for these. Rich
  20. How far do you want to go and what's your budget?
  21. They are Hicon GT, unsure of the age as they came on my old G60 from bristolbaron, maybe a year or two? Condition wise they are fresh and fully adjustable. ---------- Post added at 6:37 PM ---------- Previous post was at 6:33 PM ---------- Will do. You have first refusal.
  22. Depending on the make/condition I'd say around £30 posted for a generic one. If it's a brand name like milltek it'll be a little more. I probably wont be getting under the car until I have access to some ramps which could be early next week. Maybe Sunday/Monday if I can blag it. Rich ---------- Post added at 6:22 PM ---------- Previous post was at 6:19 PM ---------- Yep, will fit a Rado.. Any MK3 Suspicion kit will as far as I'm aware Around £250-300 depending on the full condition when I remove them. I may end up fitting them to mine as the ride/handling was exceptional. If so I'll have some Weitecs up fro grabs for about the £200 mark.
  23. Unsure at the moment as prices and condition for these vary a lot. They look worse than they actually are, no major dents or anything it's just healthy curb rash from slow speed careless parking,.. A few hours, some wet&dry and some elbow grease and they'll be mint again. I need a good £500 back from these to recoup my costs on the car so I'm trying my luck at that price. If I don't get that I'll spend some time and refurbish/powdercoat them and put them up at £600-£700 which seems to be the asking rate for a mint set. The sticker says these were made in April 2011 and the retard has managed to curb each one. Shame really but that's pretty much the story with the entire car :brickwall:
