Cheapest option will be a 1996 onwards Golf VR6 2.8 with OBD2. The good news is that rot to pieces so they can easily be picked up with a good engine for £600

They already are, available via Classic Parts though :) Never liked debadged grilles, makes the car look 'wrong' IMHO. Mine came off within 48 hours of owning it :D

My Dad and I did it :) To be honest there are still a little few bits to finish off. He brought the shine back to the bonnet but it has been previously painted and the chips he touched up have been quickly replaced with others. He believes it's due to no hardener being used on the primer when it was last painted. Like everything else on a Corrado its ongoing process! TT bushes fitted today, along with balls joints, anti roll bar links (the originals have bent slightly after 100,000 miles!) and an oil change :) The original bushes were about 80% worn and wern't far off splitting. I couldn't believe the difference the TT ones made. Feels much more agile at speed now :)

Hi all, Still plenty available. But you need to call me on the number on the first post! First bought first served ;) Remaining quantities available are on the first post. They are introducing the red (pre-facelift) VR6 front grille bag within the next 6 months. Not the silver one though unfortunately. They've stopped producing the chromes for good now, black is all that's available. Please note, I have had to amend the postage offer as the bits being sold now are from the second additional order and because of the extra postage from Germany I am unable to do the extra quid off. It's now £1 discount for two lines and £2 discount for 3+ lines :)

If anyone is desperate happy to lend the two I bought as not planning on donig mine until I have a proper excuse to take the door card off.

Apologies for the mumsnet post :lol: But do you think people are ageist against our Corrado's? Driving to work this morning, came to a T-junction and see a 03 plate Clio about 400 yards down the road, no problem for the VR6 so I pull out and quickly get up to 55mph (it's a national limit and a blind bend is 400 yards further down the road). Said driver (20 something bird) decides this is not good enough and overtakes me at about 70mph as we are coming up to a blind bend another 400 yards down the road and bipping her horn as she does. She then has to anchor on for the corner as she doesn't have the confidence to take it :roll: Other examples have been people in new cars (repmobiles in particular) closing gaps on dual carriageways or sitting right on your bumper etc. It's almost like people treat you as a second class citizen because your car wasn't made in the 21st Century!? :? And it's all very well giving it beans to show their 320D's up, but why should I? Can't I just drive my car the way normal people do without having to prove a point? What the hell is going on! Has anyone else had similar experiences? Maybe it's because I'm currently on winter winter wheels and the car looks a little 'naff' at the moment?

I suppose it's hard for them to come up with new ideas now. The challenges need to focus more on the merits of the cars themselves again rather than the scripted smashing up and hooliganism. The early Top Gear challenges were brilliant for the reason the cars were interesting. i did enjoy this one though.
