I removed the handle and trim around it and used some pliers to pull the cable as far as I could but the bonnet still won’t pop Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk

Dear Collective I have a MKII Octavia estate as a daily. The bonnet release handle feels like its operating normally and when I pull it I can hear movement near the grill but the bonnet won’t pop! My local independent garage says they would need to break in via the grill to open it. I’m worried about going ahead without knowing for sure if there is a smarter solution. I am in your hands Andrew Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Hi all 1992 Corrado G60 Luckily I was only travelling at walking pace when it snapped instead of during an ambitious overtake! Can't remember exactly what was holding the cable on but assume it's plastic because of the broken shards on top of the throttle body. Want to avoid buying a complete throttle body if possible. If you can help, please let me know Andrew

Hi all Corrado G60 A couple of times recently when turning on the ignition, ive noticed a tiny puff of smoke coming from where the steering wheel meets the ignition cowling. It hasn't stopped the car or any of its electricals from working Any ideas re cause please? Cheers guys, Andrew

Hi all Just putting out feelers for this at the moment I've been spending a bit of time at DLF Classics near Woodbridge They have agreed to host a rolling road day in their very cool converted barn. Places would be limited to 8 cars only (mine would be one of them) £50 a head Includes 3 runs Would take place on a Saturday morning Afterwards I suggest we drive down to The White Lion in Ufford for lunch (well that's what I'll be doing) I haven't been to many of these events so not sure how it compares on price Let me know what you think Andrew

Hello For the past 10 years the water temperature of my G60 at a steady cruise has always been approximately 92C. But recently, i paid for the charger to be rebuilt and the waterpump to be replaced. The thermostat housing was also replaced but the thermostat itself was not. Ever since then the cruising temperature (water) is now about 102C. The oil temperature appears to be unaffected. Can anyone suggest a reason for this sudden change? Many thanks Andrew
