Not sure kev. Can anyone else on here help with that one??

Just thought i'd make everyone aware that RE720's are still available in 195/50/15 fit. Only mentioning it as i know they stopped making them in certain larger sizes (or so i'm told) Just dressed my standard alloys with the above and they are a really great tyre. A marked improvement over my previous Bridgestone Turanza's.

Just realised that the spare wheel (space saver type) in my C is probably the same age as the car. It's never been used but i guess after all this time, the rubber would have perished a little. A good idea to change it?? Are the tyres expensive or do you just buy them(tyre and wheel) as a whole unit?

Lowered 30mm (thought you'd like to compare)

Hi, Firstly i would advise that you report the incident with your insurance company. You are not obliged to make a claim but they do ask their policy holders to tell them of any changes in their driving history. This will also mean that they can advise you on what the likely outcome will be, should you wish to make a claim against this woman I work as a first response new claims advisor, and i can see from the unusual circumstances you've given, that liability could be disputed by yourself and the other driver. Am i right in saying that you were stationary at the time of the impact?? If that is the case, then she has reversed in to a vehicle without looking. If not, then a claim could result in split liability. Very difficult to discuss without full circumstances to hand. The police wont be interested at all. They normally will only attend the scene of an RTA if it resulted in serious injuries. One option you have, is to inform your insurance co, but tell them you wish to hold off repairs until third party liability is established. That way, if you get the outcome you hoped for, you can then make repairs knowing it wont affect your policy and that any XS will be returned to you. However, if you take this option and it (for example) results in split liability, you can either walk away with no cost to you or proceed with the claim.

Oh by the way!! Which bits should i be WD40ing??
-
Thanks dudes. Yeah it's stored outside but unfortunately there's nothing i can do about that at the mo. Seems like i'm doing everything that i should be. Just a little worried about the long periods between drives. It's been nearly 2 weeks since i took it for drive.

The G60 is my second car so it only gets used about twice a week. Last year i covered about 2750 miles in it. Whilst it is never used for short journeys (i live in the sticks so the shortist trip out would be 20miles), i'm worried that such low mileage may be bad for the car, especially during the winter. Will this kind of use keep the engine supple enough?

Not my cup of tea at all to be honest. Dont see the problem with it in its normal location.

HELP!! Suffolk Corrado needs temporary wheels loan!!
keystarG60 replied to keystarG60's topic in General Car Chat
Ace!! That would be great if thats cool with you. I was thinking of taking my RZ's to Pristine on tuesday as i'm going to visit a friend in on that day in MK anyway. Incidentally, buying a house in your neck of the woods this month. Corrado meet in Budgens car park anyone!!?? -
Ok, so Pristine are gonna refurbish my BBS RZ's. But sadly, due to some heavy kerbing on one wheel, they don't qualify for the exchange service. This will leave my car shoeless for a little less than a week. I don't have a spare set to use. Would anyone in the Suffolk area be willing to loan a set for this period? Of course, i wouldn't expect anyone to loan their most prized set of rims. All i need is a shabby set that will fit ( 4x100 ). Anything will do as long as they're round!! There's a pub lunch in it for the chap that saves my bacon.

Thanks dudes! RZ sounds right to me as that code has been mentioned previously. Thanks for confirming that Mr Judge. Yeah Kev saw the pics of your speedys and other glowing endorsements from others on the forum. Excited to see what they can do with them. Do the agents provide a set of loan wheels for the duration??? Is 'Sparkle Silver' a BBS paint code or just a universal one?? Is there any advantage in dealing direct with Pristine??
-
Embarressed to admit i dont know the name of my standard BBS wheels on my G60 even though i've owned the bloody thing for 3 years. Need to know for when i call Pristine (after all the great reviews) for a refurb. Incidentally, would the colour on these have faded since 1992? How closely will Pristine be able to match it?

Moving house soon but sadly i wont have a garage to protect the beloved G60. Considered buying one of the above to keep the weather at bay. Anybody on the forum used one before?? Ta!!

So what are we sayin? For a car of this age(8-10ish yrs),is petrol or diesel the way to go? Are there pros and cons to each type of engine at that age?
-
Must be some Jap cars that fall into this category? Saxo could be good'n tho.
-
Any thoughts? Need summat thats ultra cheap to run. Dont care what it looks like as long as it gives me ace mpg, low insurance group etc. Make and model suggestions please!! To Supercharged: "Before you say it, no a TDI transplant is not the answer"" :)
-
Yeah, to me it seems like the best 'no fuss' option. ARB's would be the icing on the cake i reckon.
-
Thanks Kev. Yeah the crossmember was replaced last summer. Took your advice on the Koni/H+R setup too. Thanks for the feedback dudes!!
-
Enjoy recent pics of my G60. Three years of Corrado ownership with no breakdowns or nasty surprises.......somebody pinch me!!

One of my towing eye covers is missing. I have a replacement but not sure how to fit it. I can see that the tab has to go under the little grill. Does this grill have to be removed first?? Cheers,Starky
