  1. Hi, I understand JUSTMATZ can locate and refurb BBS RS's and the like. Wondering if anyone on the forum had used this service. Was the work of a satisfactory standard etc?? Any good/bad experiences? Ta!
  2. Supercharged, yeah replaced mine last year. Wolsey provided the bits with quite a health discount. MJS in Ipswich did the work. Happy with the result. I have a ETKA printout of all the parts involved if needed? Starky
  3. Sane, great pics!! Inspiring stuff. I'm visiting a friend in Toulouse in August for 4 days. Sadly i have to fly to fit the trip in. Wish i could road trip it instead now!!! Starky.
  4. VR6, yeah Carpoid's right. A new crossmember panel from VW (535199171G) is £175 ish The lifespan of this part on peoples cars seems to vary in a huge way. Some cars dont have a problem at all, however mine was completely rusted through with large portions coming away in my hand!!! I had mine replaced along with all the rubbers that go between it and the engine carrier beneath. The new item was given a coat of protective paint or primer and then covered in waxoil once fitted. You will also need to replace the PAS fluid as this line has a route through the crossmember panel. Starky
  5. Yeah Neil, looking at your snaps i'm glad i've gone for koni/h+r route. Just how i wanted it to look too. RX's are 7" wide so do i thought perhaps 205/45/16 would be appropriate. Do people agree?? Was thinking maybe avon zz3's

  7. Thanks Niel, looks great, and personally i like the way the 30mm drop looks. I never wanted to make a track car y'know, and i always wanted the car to be totally useable and enjoyable to use on long journeys. To my mind, there's no point pretending we use our cars on perfectly flat quarter mile stretches every day when we clearly don't. The h+r's seem like a good compromise to me. My only dilemma was the new wheel size. So your photo's are cool coz 16's were my prefered option. What size are the tyres on those sweet BBS?
  8. Neil, thanks mate, will be nice to see coz mine will have a similar ride height to yours (30mm drop) next week.
  9. Neil L, do you have any photos with this koni/hr setup on 16". My choice of wheel comes down to either rx's or rc's. 16" seems the way to go and i'm not a fan of slammed cars.
  10. Storm Warning, Koni shocks £385, H+R Springs £175, top mounts about £30 i'm guessing. Plus about 3hrs labour i'm guessing
  11. Thanks Billinjahg60, Looks fully good. Especially on a black C huh? Haha! Having Koni TA's and H+R's fitted next week with a 30mm drop but can't decide between 16" and 17". Whatever happens, the wheels will be BBS. Really want the C to have an unmodified look. Kev, yeah i totally agree, trying to stay as close to OEM as possible. So it's either RX's or RC's for me. Been offered 16" RX's wheels only for £600 and £15 for shipping. Kev have you fitted your RX's yet?? If so, i'd like to see em in da flash so to speak! Some Back Hamlet burnouts perhaps!! Haha! Starko
  12. Hi I see they come with silver centre caps. Are black replacements available to fit??

    16" BBS RX's

Hi Thinking about getting a set of the above. Some pics may convince me!! Ta
  14. Yeah 17"'s are still around, but sadly 16"'s are no longer produced. 17"s are cool an dat but personally i prefer the understated look of the 16" Plus im a little concerned about ride comfort. Thanks Bally, will look into it.
  15. Hi chaps!! Desperately want to source some new BBS 16" RC's only to be told "na, they don't make any more son" by MSW/BBS Direct. Hoping there is still a way. Any ideas? Has anyone seen any remaining stock of these? Long shot i know. Cheers.
  16. Got a load of coloured scuffs (from fashionable feet no doubt!) on the door pockets. Soapy water and all the other stuff i've tried doesn't shift em. Any suggestions chaps?? Some kind of solvent perhaps?? Cheers!
  17. Get a second opinion mate. My ABS light started flashing. My local dealer offered me a free diagnostic test(only reason i'd go to them). They found a load of triggered fault codes so just told me it must be either the control unit or pump. Unconvinced, i went to an independant local garage and paid for the same test. They diagnosed a faulty sensor. I replaced it. Problem solved. I understand the control unit is usually pretty reliable.
  18. Good call kev. Would save all the poinless journeys to the dealers  .
  19. Does anyone out there know a good interior trim repair specialist in the Suffolk/Essex area??? You know, the kind of people who do invisible repairs on dashboards damaged by phone kits and the like. A guy from Sudbury area who trades under the name 'Trimline' is said to be very good. Any further suggestions?? Thanks.

    Boot lock

Tried to load the boot on my c today but cant. 'Blipped' it with the remote as usual, two doors unlock fine but boot lock still feels locked(although i could hear it click away as if it was working). Tried operating the central locking manually using the key(same result). Also tried unlocking the boot individualy using the key but no luck. Can i access the mechanism from the inside somehow?? Help!!

    spare wheel

Mine is a space saver(92 G60).Thought they all were perhaps with the exception of the earliest of models.Andrew
  22. Had this item replaced last year(after 62k). Same noise as you describe.Thought it was the alternator at first so went to a dealer for some advice and as i reversed in to a space, the power steering pump (real culprit) gave way and left a trail of fluid. Very lucky that it broke while i was stationary on a dealers forecourt.Think it could,ve been more serious had it broken on the road. Pump was £194 but make sure they flush out the whole system if you have this job done coz you may have some 'nastys' in there from the old one. Andrew
  23. Cheers!Pretty sure we're talking about the same part although obviously most of mine is lying on a b road somewhere! What purpose does it serve? Is it of structural importance to the front end?Do vw's figures add up?Thanks Henny.
  24. Need to replace the 'front bumper under valance' on my corrado G60. The currant one has rusted down to nothing and vw tell me the replacement part will cost £400 + spraying costs+fitting!!!!!!!!! Does anyone else know what this job involves?Help!
