Jay, You already know what I think about the car... I love the dustbin lid wheels.. no no I meant the vette rims... no seriously, a truly stunning car. I know how much hard work has gone into this car over the last few years and I'm glad you're getting such good feedback - you deserve it! I'm sorry I missed the show at the weekend, I wanted to go but you know I have lots to do. Anyway.. well done! Btw a turbo conversion would just be the icing on the cake imo ! :D -
Wow Wow Wow Wow.. That subframe will look sweet when chromed! Keep the pics rolling..

Wicked mate.. wish mine looked that shiny! What are you doing to the arches then ?

I would have to disagree. Surely if you increase traction, then handling would improve also? Because more traction = more grip. For example; why is it when ever they test an M3 against an Audi S4 and they seem to do it a lot, the Audi looses the straight line race by a fraction but kicks the BMW around the track? Obviously there are many issues involved but the main basic principle is that the Audi is 4wd and the BMW isn’t. With regards to whether a corrado is any good in a 4wd format then PhatVR6 has been lucky enough to drive a 4wd corrado and he swears by it. Not saying he is right but I certainly think that if he thought it was not as good as the normal then he would be the first one to hold up his hand and admit that. Don’t get me wrong, I have been in a few FWD 300bhp+ golfs and they are very capable indeed. I can’t however really comment properly until I have actually driven mine hard. Then I will be able to offer feedback. Ben

Whats a major service then? Cambelt, tensioner, waterpump, aux belt, oil, all filters and a check over the rest of the car?? Shouldn't be too pricey..? ? I need to do my cambelt on my tdi, its on 42k miles but its aproaching 6 years old so i need to do it before the worthersee trip. Will do all the filters, oil, brake fluid, front brake disc + pads. So I'm hoping it won't cost me much more than 100 quid in parts. I suppose you have to pay labour on top which is the expensive factor.. :(

Bally, Yeah from June onwards hopefully! 16v, I know.. I know.. but I need to do it in order to achieve a good strong 340-360bhp.. Just need to get the engine bay finished off now as its starting to drag on. Would like to get it back to Jabba next month for the top end fueling to be sorted. Not long now. -
wow.. and I complain about working on the c in the cold.. lol !! Good effort!

Bally, cheers dude.. NR next week, you going to be there? CoxyLaad, Its the only way mate on a RHD synchro.. There is no way you can get a downpipe down the other side as there is no room... I've seen a few 4wd IHI cars that have similar downpipes. vr6banana, It is very very close, but nothing can be done as there is no room at all.. The clutch master cyl is about 10-15mm away, so I plan to put a heat shield over it. The PAS lines under the car are very very close, I'm thinking of maybe fitting a NON power steering rack.. I'll see how I get on, I might be able to bend the PAS pipes further over out the way.. -

Finished the downpipe today.. its ready to be welded up now.. only the engine bay and gearbox now then it will be on the road! So money pending, maybe April/May! I'm really pleased with the outcome of the downpipe, so much better than the snake like thing from before hand.. and a much larger bore now! A true 3" outlet into a 2.5" exhaust!! Ben -

ummm.. how longs a piece of string?.. lol on a serious note.. probably end of next month/May... Once the enginebay and dowpipe are done I just have the gearbox rebuild to do then I'm done! -

Small update.. Got bored of sanding the engine bay today so decided to make a start on the new 3" downpipe.. Got the day off work tomorrow so might have a go at finishing it. Do you think its big enough? -
congrats dude

Lee that pic is well funny.. gotta love the americans! Ben

I would say the IHI setup is a bit more powerful. Its a totally different power delivery as well, but I'll let you know when its fully up and running. Now then ben i thought you were all mapped up a couple of months ago??? yeah it didn't go to plan.. yes it was mapped but only made 300bhp.. which I'm not happy about so re-doing a couple of things to improve on that as I wanted more 340-360bhp tbh.. will be done soon.. hows yours?
