  1. Everything that has gone wrong on his car (not that much) was component parts... i.e. bought in parts, nothing to do with TVR.. apart from the fuel line One of the dials broke, aircon pump and I think thats it.. Its a 97 P and he has had it from new...
  2. Well I love them! So much so I put half a cerbera inside my corrado .. The old mans Chimera 4.0HC caught fire from having the 'rubber' fuel lines crack !! he caught it before it was too late, now sits a pair of SS braided hoses as replacments!! All I am going to say... noise, looks, 1000kg with plenty of opffff for the money!! Next car for me.. can you guess?? A 4.5L Cerbera... 200mph anyone?? B
  3. At least a 3.6 should be possible?????? The new wave of VR6's will be a 3.6... hummm ... 3.6 bi turbo.. now we are talking :)
  4. I think faulty sensors might be the problem... Its unlikely to be the ABS unit imo.. It will be electrical... useful to know the history nof the car though :)
  5. Cool.. I see you totally ignored what I said about not having to dismantle the entire dash! lol You need to plug vag-com in to see whats wrong with the ABS..
  6. Nice Neil! How did the weekends activities go? I.e what did you get done?
  7. Thanks Steve. Its actually a nicer sound if you hear it in the flesh. The video doesn't pick up the chatters of the wastgate very well.. B
  8. Nice new Corrado Jim.. you enjoying it? Bit quicker compared to the tdi I should imagine?
  9. Nice pics there OSV.. we (coupehaus) almost have our 1000+ pics ready...
  10. Hey guys.. the wheels are only 8.5 all round. As Paul quiet rightly pointed out the camber at the rear helps them tuck up nicely in the arch without any rubbing. Anyway I'm uploading some vids at the moment. So x2 vids of me messing around, p.s the car was only half warmed up thats why its miss firing etc before anyone asks. Once up to temp its fine! Download the vids from here.. go to 'Ben 20vt 4x4' and the 2 vids named " testing new rear diff etc" are the ones you want :) http://www.coupehaus.co.uk/download_page.html Enjoy.. let me know what you think about the new noise levels?? lol .. maybe a bit loud for everyday use but hey hoo..
  11. Evening all.. Just finished changing the rear diff for one that works. Took a couple of pics of the swap.. (see below). I took it for a quick drive as the sun was setting in my garden and I think its working as it should. Well put it this way when you launch the car @ 6k rpm on the grass its good fun ;-) I can get it to drift as well.. hehe.. Maybe if it rains a one off douhnut might be on the cards.. ;-) :) 8) Lots to do tomorrow. Will try and get my sis to hold the camera and I'll get some vid footage of the car going side ways.. Ben
  12. Its Roy Kenton's Mk4.. don't think its finished yet.. he is friends with JD Engineering.. should be good for 500+ bhp I would have thought. Ben
  13. Looking forward to having a productive weekend on the C. I haven't touched it for a month. I have the rear diff to swap over, prob easier said than done. Would like to tie back all the wiring in the engine bay and fuse all the custom loom I have, perhaps get the warning lights working for the MOT (indicator, hazards etc). And sort this damn voltage loss problem which I have a feeling is something to do with the alternator. I need to wire up one of the 2 small wires (blue wire??) to a switched 12v supply. I think this engages the clutch on the alternator to allow it to charge while the starter motor is turning the engine over. Hopefully this will solve the starting issue. Also I would like to get it into the sun, wash it and take some nice pics of it :) B
  14. nah rubbish, its all about 4wd! More control, much less battling with steering wheel required.. obviously under 300bhp this isn't really a big deal, but above.. I would only have 4wd!
  15. I'll join you on the FWD for the time being.. lol
  16. biggerbigbutthead, what's on the list to get sorted then apart from the heater matrix. B
  17. Me and Jay Renshaw at worthersee and then the other is a few of the coupehaus crew having a quiet drink at the show  Thought I would post a couple of pics while I get the 1038 pics from Worthersee 2006 sorted out for the site... Will have them up soon !!
  18. took it to Dubsport today for a once over and service. Turns out the ECU was seeing the dump valve as an air leak and switching to safe mode. Jeff binned the dump valve and the car is transformed. It's a serious flying machine, definately swaying my earlier opinion about the VR being the better engine. Sounds better but an on song 280bhp 20V is a seriously quick car. Also got a ride in the 4x4 478bhp Corrado VRT. Its been turned down to 360bhp but it's shockingly fast. A run around the block and you could smell the burning rubber and that was with no wheel spin!!! Pure torque and friction generating the heat. Lee, Lovely S3.. you're a lucky chap! 478bhp 4x4 corrado! Oh dear looks like the 20vt is going to be binned in favor of a vr6T ! lol... I bet it felt awesome even with 360bhp! I've driven mine with 300bhp and I'm blown away by the speed! For a car that weighs at least 300kg less than a mk4 based car the corrado just takes the power with such ease! Is it worth taking a trip to Dubsport for a ride? lol .. Anyway make sure you don't modify that S3 any further! Its a daily driver..lol !! Ben
  19. WOW looking sweet sam! Looking forward to seeing all these bits bolted up and in place:)
  20. Its a hoax, it never happened... some clever camera work is to blame  ;-)
  21. its ok guys, just had a mere with it this weekend.. I will get it finished.. just don't know when!
  22. I will get the damn thing running but as soon as cash allows I'm going ME7... can't be doing with removing the flipping spark plugs and drying/cleaning them everytime it doesn't start. Coxy, no my EMS doesn't have that function.. ME7 all the way, wouldn't use anything else for everyday use! might go out now and attempt to start the bloody thing! OK, just got it started. Although the EMS is crap the problem is a voltage loss somewhere. I have to jump the car to get a few more volts in order for the coils to work as they should. I need to just source this problem and fix it and then it might start better. But worthersee next 2 weekends, Stoner the weekend after then busy till end of June, so no time to do it :( .. oh well I'm sure it will be on the road sometime
