I would say the IHI setup is a bit more powerful. Its a totally different power delivery as well, but I'll let you know when its fully up and running.

I would say that the only thing that is the same between a normal G60 and a 16vG60 is the charger.. they are completly different engines.. the 16v setup can be really noisy because the charger is getting worked much more.. B

JMR rado is very cool. The engine looks so factory! It is nicks car yeah! he swapped it out of Pauls car into his mk2 over the weekend. Alex used to have a G6016v then he grew blonde hair and got into make up :D We will be coming in Nick's 16vG60 for no rice - for sure! Be cool if you can get that M3 along..

A mate took me for a blast around the crystal palace area in a Mk2 Golf G6016v (engine transplated at the weekend from another mates car), was really good fun.. The engine was awesome, quite quick and the noise! oh the noise!! just awesome! Everyone and I mean everyone was looking at the car as it went passed, I said to my mate, are you ever going to bore of the noise... small quiet pause... 'NO' ..lol Its very much work in progress at the mo as it really needs a new set of injectors, bigger fuel regulator and a re-map, but once that has happened engine will be sweet as! If you want to do something a little different to your 16v or G60 corrado's.. do a G6016v ! Anyone else experienced this setup..? if so what are your thoughts? thats why i dont like taking my cars to most bodyshops they hardly ever do exactly as you want unless your willing to pay mega bucks !! atleast if you do it yourself it will only cost you the paint etc and then theres all the prep work.... thinking about doing my bay next year maybe and will probably do that myself aswell i am starting to get a little handy with a spray gun now :) For sure.. its the gamble you take I suppose. I'm quite looking forward to doing it tbh. Will let you know how I get on.. Let us know if you decide to tackle your bay!

I hate it.. I don't mind working in london as the social life is good but I hate driving back and forth like a yoyo at weekends.. getting really sick of it. But it has to be done. Might be re-locating to Bournemouth sometime in the near future, which would possibly mean a garage.. Anyway I want it to be a daily car as soon as its finished. Re- welder.. thanks mate. You know what chap that is mighty kind of you, I might take you up on that! :wink: It'll be just for a weekend if I do.. I have gas and I'm sure I can get some wire. Which side of Norwich do you live? I'm Kings Lynn side. I work in London during the week then commute back as many weekends as I can to work on the car.

Yeeep.. I'm going to have a go, mainly to keep the cost down but also I fancy doing it myself.. If its any good I might re-do the front wings as the monkeys at the body shop didn't spray paint up into the underside of the arch, so where I've cut the innner lips off they've started to rust! grrrrr

so will it be an R32, 12v VR or 24v turbo ?

I enjoy the engineering and creative side of the project.. Although I'm sure I'll enjoy driving it also! :D I've wire brushed those ali engine parts. Not polishing them though, going to paint them. I've etched them all and given them about 4 coats of primer.. My hands are torn apart from sanding the bay down.. The electric sander can't get to most of it so its down to sanding by hand, think thats why its taking so damn long. I also need a welder at this point and I don't have one. B

hehehe I'm getting a bit bored of it all now tbh.. once this bay is sprayed, the engine is put back together and the downpipe is sorted that will be that for a while.. just want to drive it now.. !!

Quick update.. been busy sanding my hands away while prepping the engine bay and the ali bits on the engine... Will hopefully have the engine bay 70% complete tomorrow and then finish it off next weekend. Then on pay day I'll be able to buy some paint .. yepieee.. :D

Mine is either the 900 miles to worthersee non stop last year or norfolk to wales and back to pick my C up.. don't know which is further?? Ben

I'm pretty sure you can't get the old stuff any longer, its just water based paint now and then 2 pack laquer... its not bad stuff tbh and coming from someone who paints the odd car now and then you don't get as high when your spraying :lol:
