I don't think any of them give much in the way of power gains, but the BMC is less likely to lose power which some of the exposed cones will. It's the best way to get the noise without heat soak. If you wanted to be creative run a pipe from the intake down into the bumper and maybe lose the fog lights for a vent. If you wanted a serious solution I would make a pipe out of fibreglass (or be lucky with some Pre cut hoses) rather than ribbed flexi pipe for a nice smooth airflow and minimal heat soak. My 135i has no front fogs like the smaller engined cars have, it has vents to cool the brakes there instead.

I have a mint working 6pin maf for sale. My vx220 was down on power the air filter was clogged, pulling in crap and the throttle body got crusty. Take the TB off and blast it with carb cleaner, but that shouldn't ruin the air/fuel mix, it's the sensor that would be the issue making the car overfuel. VAGCOM will definitely help narrow it down.

Is it driving ok? Smoke or caked exhaust tip? Could be loads, lambda, throttle position sensor, plugs, dirty air filter. Also check the air box/maf jubilee clips aren't overnight and wrinkling.

No worries, glad your happy. Every little helps, the rear shocks are leaking on my VX220 so these bad boys are going to clean me out next week!

Right guys I have a load more bits and bobs I've found while tidying up the garage. I've put indicative prices up (all posted) but not really sure if I'm barking up right or wrong tree... 3. OEM wiper with aero foil. Blade looks ok bit dry. £12 4. VW Flash red touchup pencil with rust brush in cap. Only used once. £3 5. Genuine door sealers which stop the rubbers from sticking too hard to the doors. 2x5ft approx. Not sure how easy these are to get any more. £15 7. OEM brand new rubber 'gasket' which sits between the mirror stalk and the door. Not sure if these are universal but was bought for passenger side and never fitted. £7 Pics below 3. 4. 5. 7.
