Guys, I have a leak from my radiator and need to replace it...any suggestions? I have looked on GSF website and 17340 seems to be the right part number. Are there any specific radiators to avoid or use...your help is much appreciated. Many Thanks John

dazyvr6 - that same dealership wanted £20 a plug for mine - needless to say they will be bought elsewhere. From what I have heard/read about that place my car is NEVER goig there again!!! *Ben* WHere is John Roberts exactly please?
-
Henny - I do mean Dane in Chester yeah! The car was an MOT failure last year coz one of the exhaust mounts was broken the other ones were fine and it wasn't even remotely loose! :x Needless to say that its getting MOTed elsewhere this year and looking like the service will be done elsewhere too. I agree about the specialists too,got one but wanted to keep the stamp in the service book...that was all. Thanks for all the opinions lads, much appreciated but my feelings towards Stealerships are even worse than b4 right now... John

Phat VR6 - I wasn't asking them to change them, they informed me that they might need changing with this service and so I asked what the charge was...they don't need changing I agree and they certainly won't be!!! Thanks for the info brookesy,I think that I have plat Bosch plugs in at the mo..changed them about 2 years ago so need to check. Does anyone think that it is worth supplying them with the parts and getting the service done at Dane?

Guys, Just spoken to my Local Stealership and they want to charge me £20 a plug and 1/2hr labour at £75 per hour to change my plugs!!! I think that they need changing every 40K miles and mine have only done about 13K anyway but that is a ridiculous price...£160 for a plug change and no service? The service without oil or air filter as I already have them (100K Service) is £160?! Does anyone have an opinion - I think that the current FVWSH is going out of the window very soon :x John

I'm in this dilemna at the moment too,Teg Type R would be nice but I have been looking at the S2 and M3 Evo too!!!

Guys, Due to my lack of 1.8T 20v knowledge I am posting this with the hope of someone being able to help! One of my mates has bought a 5K miled S3 (225bhp) 03 plate and wants to play with it a bit modding wise without invalidating his Audi Warranty. He has a A3 1.8T Quattro at the moment which hegot super-chipped and he is thinking of doing the same to the S3 along with a few other bits.... Any advice would be much appreciated and rough prices,if there are any things that you would defo not do then that would be useful too! Cheers John

In the North West, this morning I have just paid 86.9 per litre for Shell Optimax...arrrrrrrrgh! Oh and 56 litres of the stuff too!!!

Bought in August 03 with 82,400 and now about 93,400 - maintained regardless of cost...don't want it to hit 100K though!!!

Have you guys tried checking the around the pollen filter,as this can apparently cause a leak into the Pasenger footwell? My leak came from a poorly fitted replacement windscreen,as has been mentioned before... John

Guys, Sad though it may sound,I was having a conversation with a few of the lads in work about the paint colour red on cars - well actually the fact that I would not have a car in that colour at all! We started chatting about the two common reds that VW have used over the years,i.e. Mars and Tornado. Can anyone tell me which was used first on production VWs,anything from a Scirocco to Mark I Golf and also which is the darker of the two. I thought that Mars was the more "orangey" of the two and that it was the first red used??? Help !!! Sorry I know that I am really sad but life is tough and I would appreciate any feedback... Many Thanks John

Guys, Am I not right in saying that 200bhp is about the maximum feasible for a FWD car?Anything more and wheel spin is more or less guarenteed... Just my 2p I want to see a 4wd C with the 3.2 out of RS32 etc...hmmm power!
-
Total agreement with Ice White Socks (great logon userid),good stuff the Autoglym...I use it on mine and it gives it a heathly look again-unfortunately you do have to put some work in but its worth it! John

Guys, Can anyone tell me what the affiliation is between Porsche and Audi is,with regards to the RS series i.e. Porsche brakes and wheels etc? Cheers John
-
Thanks for the replies guys,I have the rotary style dash as my C is a late spec one.Bit annoying that neither of these features are available,my other car (Fiesta SI) has both and is the same age?Why did the C not come with an Airbag too?? Cheers John
-
Guys, Left my side lights on inadvertantly in work the other day but there was no annoying tone from the car to advise me of this?Is that right? One further think,is it possible to only have recirculated air in the car, there are many country smells around here that I would rather not sample... Cheers Guys Apologies in advance for beign thinck/lazy etc...

You Mystic Blue or Claasic Green 95Storm?Turn 2 is a great piece of kit,got it on my Storm but not too loud!

Just an update on my probs, My shudder seems to be intermitant at only at certain speeds but not with heavy braking?!Really starting to p1ss me off now as I am not confident in the braking ability of the car even though it has a "good" setup in my opinion?!Ahhhhh... Help John P.S. I haven't tried swapping the wheels around yet,but will do.They are brand new tyres and reasonably new speedlines too as they have little to no curb marks on...
-
I think that Roddy would agree with me in saying that it may not well be worth the extra money/time needed to buy a "good" STORM but they are one of the rarer Cs.This is usually the reason that people pay the extra money for them, not just for the spec.We all know that a VR6 can out spec a STORM but you will not find a standard VR6 in Mystic Blue, repainted one maybe.I personally bought mine based on the fact that mine was VR6 price and I thought that I would be part of an elite owners club - as are all C owners in my opinion. Just my 2p's worth... John

Hey Brando, I've got my C with HIC on a limited mileage policy that replicates the benefits of a Classic Car policy without it actually being old enough to conform. My other car is with AXA,coz I'm only 23.Insurance is clearly the most annoying/expensive thing in the world.Mine also has a agreed valuation that is currently being sorted...hope this was of some help. John
