What are the best spark leads and plugs for a VR6
ClassicStorm replied to BarneyVR6's topic in Engine Bay
I've got the triple platinum Bosch plug in mine with standard leads, not had any probs with either as far as I am aware!Should the platinum plugs be changed as frequently as the normal ones?Just going slightly away from the topic,I have used the Fully Synth oil from the stealership for the last two changes. Can anyone recommend that I change my ways and turn to Mobil1 or something different........ -
I ordered this piece of kit on 24th but still have not received anything in the post, should I be worried?I have emailed them to ask for details but I seem to remember someone referring to their after sales service being sh**!

Fair enough jims16v,my mistake.I hang my head in shame....

Campaign :- As I mentioned in a previous post, the only one I have ever seen had a personalised plate (J13VRG) and I spotted it at a show last year!I'm not sure who he was but he had a bonnet bra on it too.IMO the interior is a bit over the top but nevertheless one of these fantastic super coupes that are as common as hen's teeth.I'm sure that there are very few people who take care of their car as well as you......good luck with the task of tracking down the rest.

I think that 5 Campaigns is right and 1 was defo smashed up.They did 10 in each colour of the autos I believe.I have seen one of the Campaigns at a show and it had the exact personalised registration that I wanted for my motor (j13 vrg),btw. Not too sure about the interior but I would still love to own 1....

All the info posted by Roddy is immaculate as usual and my insurance company tell me it is group 19 too!You are paying that bit extra to know that you are the owner of 1 of 250 cars in that specific colour with that spec.Probably not worth it to a lot of people but I got lucky and paid VR moneu for a Storm, sorry not trying to rub it in!I want one of each....just to take the absolute p1ss.Sad individual that I am.If I'm not mistaken the Mystic Blue is a "Storm onlly" but the Claasic Green Pearl is not?
-
Total agreement Roddy, think I should have purchased one of those instead of the Classic Green. It almost looks like a flip paint.....black leather is quite a bit easier to keep clean too!
-
So how long will it take to arrive?Has anyone had any problems with loss of throttle response and or bhp?I think that this is the dadies piece of kit unless anyone can advise me otherwise...........what is the problem with the installation then Robch - charcoal canister orientated?!
-
All, I am thinking buying one of these induction kits and would like some feedback from anyone who already has one fitted and running, please?I would like to know how long they take to arrive and whether they are worth the cash? After sales service any good?Does anyone have other suggestions for good kits that come with a heat shield etc... Cheers John

we know what you drive and what you do!but how old are you??
ClassicStorm replied to vr6storm's topic in General Car Chat
I'm 23 and bought my Storm in August 2002,what a machine!Just a shame that its not just that bit faster...thinking about investing in a M3 Evo.I run a Fiesta SI 1.6 and drive the two on a one on and one off basis!Probably going to keep the C and start the modding,FKs Turn 2 Kit etc..... the Fiesta was my first motor.Seems that I am in the majority for the age bracket, which surprises me when you look at the price of insuring these beautiful machines?! -
I had my sunroof motor replaced by a Stealership in the North West all is ok and it works but I must also say that the standard of service from the stealership is complete sh**!They replace components that don't need to be replaced and take far too long,f**k you about coz they book too much work in without having the staff to cover it.Ahhh that's better, feel like I have got rid of some of my bitterness now.....What exactly is the problem you have?
-
Fair enough, got the black heated leather then - very nice!Unfortunately I have the Classic Green Storm, wish that I'd bought a Mystic Blue one now!Looking at possibly moving on in the world and maybe getting an M3 Evo II....still love the Corrado though.Smooth pull.....but just not quite fast enough.
-
It was a stealership that carried out all of the work that I have detailed in my posts,so good possibility that they have arsed it!I do have a specialist VW garage that I use so I will take it there.Just thought that it might be a common problem that you guys might have come across.I presume that you are still looking for a STORM?Thanks for all your help......
-
It is like a hiss, vacuum leak going to cost me much? Thanks for all your info, much appreciated.........
-
It is not with WOT,at low revs just easing in the throttle. It makes the noise when the steering wheel is not moving and when still on my path so I presumed that it couldn't be anything to do with the powered steering. It could be the Alternator but I had a voltmeter across it and it seems to be ok,interference with the amp is a possibility though. The powered steering pressure pipe and fluid was replaced about 3 months ago?!I would hope that the pump was ok coz no mention was made that the pump was on the way at the time?!How do I know if its water pump orientated?
-
All, I am having some problems with noise from my VR.It is making a whistling style noise when accelerating but it disappears when I put her into Neutral. It is nothing to do with the powered steering or brakes, any ideas? It had a oil coolant change a few thousand miles ago and a fully synthetic oil change then too.It is bugging me and I'm worried that it is something important/expensive!I am stumped.......it occurs at low revs but is quieter?
-
Thanks to all that have posted info, sounds like I'll go for the FK Konigsports. What is the timescale involved for fitment of these and does anyone think that it will decrease the values of my Storm because it is not original equipment? How long do they take to bed in.....sorry to be a pain!

I am thinking of uprating the suspension on my Corrado and am defintely going to buy a Coilover kit.Any recommendations/advice,probably going to be keeping it on the standard rims for now.Can anyone give me some help as to where to source the kit from etc???? Cheers John

I know that I am well late with this piece of info but, I'm running the Zimmerman Cross Drilled and vented discs at front and rear (280 and 226m respectively i think) with pagid fast road pads, standard calipers and goodrich braided hoses. When I had all of the above fitted I had a fluid and rear bearing change by my VW specialist.I get some shudder through the steering wheel when breaking but I think that it is wheel orientated-they need balancing.Which 4 pot calipers would any of you recommend to complete my setup?Should I just stay with the standard calipers as the horsepower of my corrado is not exactly immense?!!!All of the above came to about £450 fitted......

Cheers for all the replies guys.It wasn't working when the car was hot i.e. 100 or so degrees.I tried it this morning on the way to work and it works? However it is giving me a squealing type noise which is lessened by turning the heat dial to full heat??I think that it does blow on all speeds and harder as the dial moves to 2,3 etc.Well confused will have a proper look on my day off tomorrow. Thanks Again

Top post, thank you very much.I shall give that a try.

Ignore that last post as the Stealership have just phoned me to tell me that a carpet that I ordered in December has been made obsolete as of today. Not F***ing happy at all, they were quite happy to take the money off me last year though.....They have also informed me that there is no replacement part and no matter what colour you are want!!!
-
I have a new one on order at VW Dealership but have no ETA!It will cost me £405 but I am sourcing a Beige carpet, more difficult to get hold of!Hope this was of some help.....
-
I own a 95 Corrado and have therefore got the rotary style dash.My fan has just stopped working and I would like some advice as to possible causes.I am under the impression that this is a common problem with this style of dashboard as when turning the knobs there is likelihood of interference with the wiring behind the centre console.Any thoughts guys????I will check the fuses and look for any obvious answers but I am a bit stuck.....

sorry I haven't replied until now,the JR Kit doesn't come with a heat shield I'm afraid! VR6,which kit would you recommend to increase the power/performance?
