The expensive service is at 80K,about £200 I think mine was at a Smith Knight Fay Stealership?! Roddy, why change the serpentine belt - I've just done the tensioner on mine so should I have changed the belt at the same time?If so why?Another f*ck up....typically ill-informed! Cheers John

Guys, I have a similar problem as has been described in this thread but mine only seems to occur on light breaking from about 40/30 mph???I had this problem with the stock disks & pads to a much larger extent so replaced all with :- Zimmerman Crossed Drilled Discs - Front & Rear Pagid Fast Road Pads - Front & Rear Full Brake Fluid change Also Rear Wheel Bearing change Problem has now come back as described above, any other advice from anyone?Shudder is through the Steering Wheel I guess...wheels have been balanced, tyres changed and car tracked in the last 2 months all to no avail...ahhhhh! Cheers John

Ice Grey Violet,if it actually is that colour!Otherwise the N reg is the best option but it is not even broken in yet for a VR6...
-
biggrim The red "I" means that it is turbo charged - 150bhp unless it is the anniversary model which is 180bhp I think?!My mate has a 180bhp A3 Quattro and my standard VR6 is quicker to 100mph,his is quicker to 60 - damn 4WD. I think that Bananaman is the most knowledgable G60 owner on here, judging by what he has spent on his and its spec now - so good for well up to 165mph has to be what exturbo2003 has to aim at to blow that Flagship MarkIV Golf.... Corrado spotting (old one from 2003 - dont use!)
ClassicStorm replied to CazzaVR's topic in General Car Chat
kevhaywire I believe that there are only 20 of your specific colour available so Roddy(as usual) is right about it being less common than even Mystic Blue.I looked at buying one just before I came across the Storm I have now and I think that they are easily the best looking coloured Corrado.I am very jealous...Mystic Blue is beautiful too. There is a silver 16v round here, another great looker. There are very few Cs where I am,by the sounds of things you jocks have all bought them all!!! -
Cheers for the tip Kev,I think that mine should be quicker than it is but I guess that the only way of proving this is to square to another VR6 that is defo running well?! John
-
jims16v I weas just a bit dubious coz of the prices, worrying if they are indeed Storms that have been looked after.Might invest,as I mentioned earlier...
-
Thanks Roddy., Campaign, compared to your machine - it is indeed common (1 of 5).Jammy b*gger... Cheers Guys John P.S. Roddy would you say that the 2 Mystics on Autotrader at the mo are indeed Storms, very cheap and am tempted?!
-
I know,I can't wait for my Storm to continue it appreciation - sorry not wishing to sound arrogant.Bought mine for VR money too, running reasonably well at the moment too?!Too many things to go wrong but it has had a few new parts that I hope will not go again for a long while...

A couple of questions relating to this thread if I may? I thought that there was no service interval for the Fuel Filter,I've just changed mine though (bolts were rusty etc).I have heard differing opinions about Gearbox oil change as again I believe that it is meant to be kept from original.I think there is a bleed nipple or something similar to release the fluid but it does get too hot so should not lose its properties i.e. viscosity etc??? Just had a tensioner changed on mine as the old one was whining like a nagging wife, you certainly know when its on the way. That's the problem with spring loaded tensioners though, pressure placed on the component at all times and therefore subject to replacement... Just my 2p guys, very thorough intro though G60Jet John

jims16v, Hi mate,I thought so.As you have probably guessed,I have the Classic Green version. The reason that I posted this thread was that there is a "Storm" for sale on the trader for £5000ish and but I don' think that it is?!Green with wrong wheels 94,I thought it was suspicious. On the flip side there are 2 that seem to be a valid for around that price too,I hoped that they might be worth a bot more...owning 1 myself.Don't like people who try and prey on other people's lack of very specific knowledge. Thanks for the confirmation John
-
Guys, Can't find the thread about this one composed by Roddy, but am I right in assuming that a 94 Corrado cannot be a Storm?I thought that they were all registered in 95... This one is doing my head in.... John
-
Guys, Diesel in a Corrado, interesting concept and I can see the benefits...did you all know that the fastest FWD VW in the country is a Mark II Golf TDI - 5.1 0-60 and low 13 second 1/4 mile???Ahh yeah,no joke. This was settled about 2 weeks ago... Good luck with completing the conversion C4MBY,I'm sure that if you want some help with tuning that TDI engine of yours he might be able to help.

I know how all of you guys, had my second car broken in to 2 days before my bday! They robbed all 4 alloys (TSW EVO Rs) and wrecked the drivers door.Had no choice but to claim as the cost of repair was too much at the time - still a poor student! They had the cheek to use my own jack and leave the other side of path bricks...if I'd caught them f*ckers then they would not be able to do this to anyone else - hard work with no fingers or legs!Never caught the b*stards, but have an alarm now.I didn't think that anyone would both with a Fiesta SI-boy was I wrong. One of the more worrying things was that it was right outside my house nearly and they must have been watching me for a while to trace my mad weekly routines...only missed them by about 2 hours too... I feel better having typed all that anger out...Corrado has a Toad alarm - thank god.

Has anyone gto anymore opinions on HIC,they have given me a good quote but they do not protect NCB until 5 years!Anyone had any good/bad eperiences with the denial or acceptance of your own valuation for your car being accepted by them, recently?? Much Appreciated John
-
Guys, Who do we all have our modded and non-modded Cs insured with?I want to agree a value on mine but some of the companies have come back to me with "your car is not modified enough" blah blah.. Can people post some useful insurnace company numbers up for me to try please? Thanks in advance John

I've had my Storm now for nearly a year and think that it is a great machine.Had to spend a bit on it though, nothing too expensive! Most recent mod is the induction kit that I've just had fitted....mint!Hope u get ur C soon Bally...
-
I have got this kit on now and as well as looking mint the induction roar is very nice. Not a window rattler but nevertheless a nice note, only problem is the petrol consumption to here this sound!!! :(
-
Guys, Received my kit about a week or so ago, will be fitting it on Saturday I think. Will let you know how I get on...looking forward to the roar and throttle response that has been mentioned earlier!
-
So the coolant and the gear fluids are sealed for life hey?I had the coolant changed and think that I may well do the gearbox oil also....gearbox is very smooth though.I personally don't like knotchy gearboxes anyway, like the Hondas etc....
-
I'm pretty sure that its the Alternator and can hear the noise from that vicinty when the engine is on?The noise gets slightly louder under slight acceleration......thanks for the advice about the tensioner though guys.I suppose that this is a common VR6 problem then? What cost am I looking at if you are right and I need to replace the tensioner? Cheers for the help P.S. My VW specialist mechanic did recommend a bigger Alternator,ot sure what one though, and diagnosed the problem for me!
-
Guys, I own a VR6 and experience the whine of a wife everytime I get in my car, from the Alternator I think.Should I recon the current one or uprate to a bigger and better one?I'm not sure what is on the market,I do have a nearly brand new VW battery and an ICE system in the car too.Any suggestions as to best plan of attack..... Cheers

RAMS Cheers mate, will I need to change the plugs this year again?I will look into the Magnatec oil, fully synth tho I guess?I presume that you are going to go for standard VAG leads?I think I saw a post about the Nology Hot Wires,I thought that they were the daddy's....
