kevhaywire has declined...anyone else??? These wheels are really light, anyone know the actual weight?
-
No worries mate. It give me something to do in the sunshine...ended up like a lobster  None of the scabs have actually broken through but if you are worried I can get the redone as I somebody that does it at cost.

I had a bit of a play with them the weekend. Split them and polished the outer rims, then laquered them again. The only probs with them now is that on or two of the spoked centres are blistering in a couple of places. You could get the centres shot blasted and coated for about £60. You would have a really clean set of wheel then!!! Here are a couple of close ups

These ones where an optional extra for a MK4 Golf Turbo but think they may be the same. I'll try and sort some piccies out.

Well sort of sold the golf...my Dad is going to have it. I'd just fitted TT brakes and Borbet alloys! I've got to get practical for a couple of years so i'm looking out for a Passat Estate Turbo Sport... Anyone know of one going??? Haven't got tyres on them but if some one was to offer me £400 I would proberbly let them go. Still enjoying the beast Jim?

I have a set of these in my garage (5X100 PCD). They need refurbing but I haven't got a clue how much they are worth. Since I sold my Golf I have no use for them. Does anybody know how much these go for?

I know for sure that I am going to miss that sound. I remember going to a exhaust centre once, you know the type, big metal shed. The sound echoing around the building was unbelievable!!! all the other customers just turned and looked and it wasn't the exhaust it was the charger...oh no i'm getting sentimental :(

VR6, I'm in the process of buying a Golf 1.8 turbo. I've heard alot about these engines so I thought I would try one

Sorry to here about the wing mirror, I only used it once to set it how I wanted it, maybe a wire is lose?. The suspension is both damper adjustable and ride height (don't you just love coil-overs!!!) The adjusting spanners are in the boot. Basically, jack the car up remove the wheels (one at a time) and wind up the collars that you will see on the threaded suspension strut. Make sure you measure them before and after. It is really easy to do.

Did you enjoy the drive home then mate :D ...i had to drive a rover 200 to work today :(

I had a FTO. There are 3 types main types: GS 1800cc not V6 GR 2000cc V6 (I had this one) GPX 2000cc V6 (variable valve timing) You can also get a GP (it might be GX, cannot remember) which is stripped out for weight saving. The tiptroic box is great for a month or so but then I craved for a manual box again. As for performance the V6 go pretty well but I don't think they would keep up a modded G60
-
I don't think my car could of gone to a more deserving chap :) I'm sure he will look after it as both myself and Brookescourt did. Congrats mate PS. Didn't take you long to get a posting up

Has one of your mates got one then FurkiG60

As I am now out of bed! (thanks Darren) and Darren is proberbly still in bed. I can answer this one. It cost 100 euros as Darren said to get the alloys shipped from Germany. That is to your door which means you can get alloys (especially phat ones, harder to find in the UK) from Germany for cheaper.. The only draw back, which isn't hugh is the payment. You normally have to carry out a bank transfer which can be a bit of a pain when you get sent the details in German.

Awe don't be like that mate    Us members should stick together
