I bought a secondhand starter by mistake...it turns out it was the ignition switch. The symptoms were different to yours, mine didn't even whirr. If you want the starter motor you can have it for what I paid. I've tested it on the bench and it works fine.

Dubcharged, SNS in the States checked an european chip and proved that it did indeed bleed boost at a predetermined level. Clip from VWVortex by Mkrad:- "UK folks proved that their chips indeed did bleed boost"

I've read loads of posts about which is best, G60 or VR6. The most common responce is - 'The G60 is raw' and 'The VR6 is much more refined' My question is this, what makes the VR6 more refined? The fact that it has round heater controls!!!

Hmmmm, thats what I was thinking but after speaking to my insurance company, they reckon that limited milage won't reduce my premium by much!!! Cannot really justify paying full premium only to use the C of a weekend/sunny days. I thought these cars were now classics :(

To honest mate I don't think you will get a decent '92 (facelift) G60 for anything less than £3k. For £2500 - £3000 you will get a '90/'91 with highish miles or a shabby '92. There are bargains still out there just take your time and see as many as you can. This will give you a feel for what your money will get you.

Yeah, it was me you were speaking to at Stonor :D I got it from Ridgeway Racings stall at the Malvern show. Nobody really mentions them much on this forum but the majority of the Golf Rallye's at Stonor had them fitted :scratch: I wonder why???

V nice. I'll got the 17" version of those wheels. Must admit I prefer the later bonnet...looks more purposeful and also allows you to fit a Golf mk2 front strut bar (more clearance) :D
