Time for an update!!! Changed the starter motor and the bloody thing still wouldn't start, just got a click. Took the starter motor out and tested it on the bench. Worked fine. put the starter motor back on and it worked :D for about six starts and then clicked again :( . Tried to turn the engine by bypassing the starter motor, this still didn't work but removed the ignition from the equation. I then disconnected all the wires that connect to the starter and the main earth to the body and cleaned all the connections, put a little copper grease on them and reconnected them. The car started first time :D and has started ever since (touch wood).

Joe M, Did the starter motor click when you turned the key? funky, The second hand starter came with the solenoid so it would be really bad luck if that was faulty as well. Scott, No i haven't unfortunatly. Anyone local to Shirley in Brum???

PLEASE SOMEBODY HELP :cry: Sunday night my C failed to start. I turn the key and the result was nothing. My first thought was the battery was flat. I tried jump starting it but the effect was the same, not a sound. (I must add at this point that it was dark and the jump leads may not have been attached correctly). My next thought was to bump start the car so i could at least get home, this worked first time and i got home ok. After parking on my drive i thought i would give the ignition another try. This time there was a click from the starter motor but the car did not start. Right, i thought its the starter motor. I bought a second hand starter motor and fitted it last night. Turned the key and the car started. Excellent i thought i've fixed it! This morning the car started ok (might of turned over a bit slower but this could be my imagination). This afternoon i get into my car turn the key and get a click from the starter motor and nothing else :( Has anybody got ideas please :puppydogeyes: i'm stranded at work!!

You can't get the badges from VW as i tried a couple of weeks back. The badges were never VW listed parts. VW gave the badges to the dealerships who if they could be bothered stuck them on. You can get the badges from trimsport in three different sizes. http://www.trimsport.co.uk/index.html I bought the biggest one which is a direct replacement for the one on the rear.

Have you tried PD Motorsort. They did mine to stage 4 (rebuild and ported) and made an excellent job of it. They also offer a 5% discount for forum members. Call Darren on 07899940473 he will sort you out.

I haven't got spacers but have Borbet C alloys. Where the bolt goes through is quite deep.

No probs I was only mess'in :) What kind of clearance do you have on your front spoiler? I'd like to work out what kind of drop my C has.

GazzaG60: The car has been lowered by a previous owner. I've got about 9cm clearance between the front spoiler and the ground :shock: The only time i have grounded it is when i hit a sleeping policeman at about 40mph :shock: I took all the wheels off this weekend and their were no spacers, the offset must cover it.

GazzaG60: Yeah, i have 7.5 rims. The arch lips have been removed slightly from the front arches for clearance. The tyres do tend to rub very slightly on the inner rear of the front arch but only on full lock. They do look the part though but still don't provide much protection for the rims :shock:

Not sure if this is the right place to post but there doesn't seem to be a place for recommendations. I just wanted to make a public thank you to Darren and John at PD Motorsport. They have just rebuilt my charger to stage 4 :D . Not only did they work until after 10pm last night to finish it but they were willing to do it over the weekend (if my courier had turned up Friday :x ) and i got the forum discount :D I cannot recommend these guys enough :D Its not often you get a service like that these days (starting to sound like my Gran :shock: ) so cheers guys.

Got any idea what the pressure should be on a 215 40 17 tyre?. One of my front tyres is looking a little low.

Have you changed the panel filter yet? and run some ducting to feed the airbox? If i were you i would sort out the breathing ready for when you get the charger rebuilt.

The C i just bought was already lowered. There is only 9cm clearance between the chin spoiler and the ground :shock: Strangly enough i'v only caught it once. That was when i hit a speed bump i missed in the dark. I took of Dukes of Hazard stylee!!!

I replaced the cable last night. What a difference!!! There is no resistance on the accelerator pedal now. I know its a pychological thing but the car feel quicker. You only have to touch the pedal and the engive revs! I really recommend doing this if your pedal is slightly stiff. Easy to change too.

Driving around this weekend I found that my temperature light came on. It did this in stand still traffic and then when I started moving it went off. The oil temp got up to about 108 degrees. Is this right? I should add that the temp gauge didn't work when I got the car and after advice on here I bought and fitted a new temp sender from a local motor factor. It fixed the temp gauge but would this make any difference? I don't think i have heard the fan come on. What temp should the fan come on?
