Ohhh go on...its just gett'in interesting :)

No WOT switch  Have you mapped the chip to run on the air flow sensor input alone?
-
I have found some lit that might explain the delay. Its quite interesting a brings the carbon canister into play :? At full load there is a pressure difference for the carbon canister between, ambient and the pressure in the hose before the supercharger. With this the canister is also scavenging at full load. In the transition from normal scavanging range into full load there' is a difference in the scavenging rate. To compensate, for this, the lambda closed-loop control is not instantly deactivated in the transition to full load (WOT), but instead control continues for a brief period dependant on engine speed. So would removing the carbon canister stop the pressure difference and thus allow the ECU to go into open loop instantly without the lag???
-
Don't chips just contain look-up tables for fueling under different conditions eg. idle, WOT, certain loads???
-
I thought WOT was activated by a switch on the throttle. Why would there be a delay. Isn't it just on or off?

Can anybody tell what digi-lag actually is. I've looked on the SNS web-site and it states - Whats new? Our stage 5 chip now has NO DIGIFANT LAG. Ever wonder why your air fuel stutters and so does your car for 0-3 seconds? Why???

I have one in the front right hand corner of the windscreen and one in the top center of the rear hatch window. both are clearly visible when walking up to the car so wannabe theives don't even need to bother crossing the road :)

G60 (removing carbon canister and pipework) advice needed
leew replied to brookescourt's topic in Engine Bay
I bought a straight washer jet connector and two rubber plugs from a local motor factors. I used the straight connector from where i removed pipe 3 and put a plug on the end. I did this so i can easily connect a boost gauge at a later date. I then used another of the rubber plugs to go on the back of the thottle body 'pipe 1'. Pipe three has a larger dia so i cut a section of the pipe inserted a bung and clampt it. I've inserted a couple of images to show. -
Mine is the same julesz, Darren from PDM noticed it at the VW show at Malven. It shouldn't do this so if i were you i would remove it and check. I think, according to Darren there are several allen key bolts that secure the smaller pulley (the one with the power steering belt on) to the bigger one (the one with the charger belt going round). After removing the small pulley there is a bolt in the center (not sure what size) remove this and slide the pulley off. I think there is a woodruff key locating the pulley. I might be wrong, if so can somebody correct me.

G60 (removing carbon canister and pipework) advice needed

Weird. I removed my CC yesterday but where '3' is marked on the pic above it wasn't a tee juction. I just had the pipe from the CC to the manifold no pipe coming out from it. Anyone else got this? -
:D :D Yeah i know £7.50!!! I tried to buy as many as i could but the only one was in Bristol. Thanks for the part no.
-
If you could mate that would be sound.
-
I thought US had 92 ron fuel??? Did your caps come with the gauge panel??? or did you order them seperatly??? Be good if you can get some piccies.
-
What caps  Where did you get your AF gauge from?
-
I've just received what the dealers claim to be the last gauge panel. :D The one that houses two gauges under the ashtray. The dealer checked around the UK and only came up with one in Bristol and now its mine  . The question i have to anyone who has one is how do you fit it??? And where is the best place to buy gauges from? Looking for a boost gauge and a A/F meter.
-
Very nice mate. Nice and clean...i like clean :) Where did you get your gauges from?
-
I thought i would post some piccies (not the best quality) of my latest mod...removing the orrible silencer from the charger and replacing it with a ported rallye outlet. :D Doing this didn't really increase the noise (as i thought it might) but it has made quite a diffference to the acceleration. It picks up quicker now, or at least it feels like it. :D Real easy to do to. Took me about 30mins. :thumbleft: While i had the camera i took a piccy of my 68mm pulley . Dunno why
-
Cheers Lenny, have checked/removed the the ground lead. Touch wood all is OK now. BTW. I haven't forgot about the chip and pulley, i'm just snowed under at work right now  will get in touch soon.

FYI C failed to start again Saturday but managed to get started by bypassing the ignition. So that proved it was the ignition switch. Replaced that and everything seems fine. Should of listened to you in the first place

Why would it drink loads of fuel? Wouldn't the oxygen sensor detect the unused fuel and because of the closed cicuit the ECU would change the duty cycle to suit?
-
G60, :D :D :D PM me with your address so i can check out shipping charges.
-
G60, If you were closer i would send you the ones i have just taken of mine.
-
I agree with what you say about the delivery and response. To be honest i wouldn't really know what an extra 10bhp would feel like. :? What i do know is that the chip that i recently fitted transformed the car completely it know pulls like a beast and drives, tick overs, accelerates like never before WITH the standard FPR. Another plus point is that if i drive reserved, i still get approx 31mpg :D
-
Dubcharged, What kind of torque and bhp do your chips produce? Have you got any dyno readouts?
-
I made a checklist to tick off when you look at a G60. If you want a copy PM me.
