I wasn't going to reply to this to be honest getting rather silly thread but seeing as I am being singled out because I said what I'm sure alot of other's were thinking but were too polite to say (sorry for being scottish and speaking my mind).I am one of maybe a handful who goes out my way to buy new or as new there are a hell of a lot of people on this forum who for whatever reason do not want to be paying to be frank some of the extortionate price's both Classic parts and Vw heritage list ( Tempest Jim :camp: ohh you guy's :lol: When you actually know anything about me then start the mud slinging :wave:

Heritage are not VW run mate they are a private company all they do is get the bit's from classic parts which is VW and put their mark up on it which is why the prices are so silly. They are not interested in helping enthusiast's just interested in shafting you.

Agreed Jim it is hard to police it you guy's give up enough of your free time already I certainly wouldn't like to see it ended as that would possibly mean alot more Corrado's falling by the wayside which I know alot on here would not want to see. We all do silly thing's at time's but the fact it has happened with quite a long standing member is maybe why the reaction to his actions have been in this vein. Like dave said rant over.

I have replied to someone's wanted thread on the thread saying I had said part and he could have it for xx amount ended up getting sorted from another party who hadn't posted on the thread a little annoying.If the person who posted the wanted thread had asked me on the thread if I could do it a fiver cheaper I would say yeah or no but that only work's if the other person offering said part post's on the thread too. Some people just don't care and think they can do whatever they like. Time for a classified's Mod I think..

This is where it has all gone wrong regarding the parts for sale/wanted section. People don't play by the rules and there is a sense of one upmanship the forum is encouraged to be open ie you post on the thread there are those with integrity who do this but there are also those who do the pm'ing route and gazump the honest one's. It's a little sad.

Totally agree with you Cazza but anyone looking to buy one of these know's the potential issue's due to the age of the car's which may be why we see certain one's selling for silly low money (but still get folk's saying that's too cheap) Seriously they have had very little money spent on them that's what they are worth.On the other hand to buy mine,Goldie's,ChrisL's,Vaghag's, N3p's etc you are going to have to pay a good bit more as these car's have had alot of money spent on them which obviously attract's a higher price tag.

Rog I've had had it with the daily vectra nowt to do with the previous owner but people who he trusted to do the work right to his car never i.e. when the timing belt was done they didn't do the proper tightening up procedure but due to the way the previous guy drove it (why I bought it) it was fine. I replaced all the bushes on the rear we dropped car started it and it sounded like a Diesel!!! Why because the timing belt had jumped 4 teeth on the crank very lucky for me in the "safe zone" so no bent valves and now a new Timing belt kit is on (was due anyway) it's purring like a pussy cat and pull's like a train. And the guy I bought it from gave me some money back too :x-mas:

I've got my OZ vega's which are in the part's for sale section which are rather rare and hard to come by and also a set of six spoke Stern's which are very hard to come by.
