it's been two years since i put the exhaust on, (jetex), and its banged every day since  , well last week end i took it all off, cut off the original hangers from the chassis and the exhaust welded on new bracked and used bobbins, or cotton reels, wow  the car is so nice to drive, even on the biggest bump and over cobbles there's no klonk donk donk, and coz i made it all up i was able to get the tail pipe in the middle of the opening, 8) the rear box is almost solid! well chuffed with my self. 8) definatle a must do, those silly B shaped ones just stretch after a day of use. i'v got pictures, just know idea how to get them on here, .

g-lader, the one in dorking was austec, they moved. end of the high street, in a back ally.
-
austec are the only rolling road centre around here, they dont do vw tuning , they are tvr and ford peolple. but they are good blokes i supose. i have'nt asked them yet but i'm sure we could, i phone them and see how much and avalibillity. ect, i'll try for... 12 cars, that should keep em busy, may be end of next month,
-
IF i can, i would like to try to organise a rolling road day, or if some else could,. i would need to speak to a local tuners, Austec racing in gatwick first but who would be up for that.! G60 vs VR6.. emm. that given me an idea..

i dont remember which mg it was, it is a scappy. no doors back end missing, the only reason i knew it was an mg was the front alloys had mg on em  . but i've seen people use golf 1.3 coolents rads, but there was much room, the air con rad is only 16-17mm thick, real slim line. as for the pump i'm using a single speed caravan pump. only £20, but noisy, i'm on the look out for a two speed inline pump, all the pro pumps the inlet and out let are at 90', this would cause me probs,
-
i went down the breakers, spent an afternoon looking and measuring rads, i found an MG air con rad, about 6" longer and 2" higher than the g60 rad, chop the feet off, cut and block the excisting air con feeds, drill throu the holes in each end,(where the feet were) and all the way down the botom, cutting out the baffles, and it should sit in front of the coolent rad perfectly. there, one long very efficient rad and for about £15, works a treat, 8)

i've had an indicated 145 in my g60. got a bit scared and pulled back. but it was going up slowly.at about 6000 rpm
-
i had a the similer problem . turned out to be a i'd been running soooo rich it had flooded the cyilnders contamiating the oil, all was rectifiled with an sns chip, my previous chip was made up using jabbas as a base then uping the fueling on the computer, not recommended. get he injectors checked as well then phone darren at g werks and get them to look at it, go on get red tops and a sns chip, you know you want to, oh and change the oil and filter pronto or you'll damge you bore,
-
your boost reading, what rpm did you see the 11-12 psi, ?? the air fuel meter will cycle up and down, this does not meen your fueling is out, the ecu (digifant) uses the lamda on a closed loop, so it reads and closes etc, hence the meter going up and down. which of couse means reading it nearly impossibly  the only real answer to make the air fuel meter work is to have a second lamda installed in the exhaust, cheap but a pain in the arse. this way you can accuratly read whats going on. and a must have on any modified engine,, i my self wasted £120 on the luminition 19 l.e.d meter. before working this out :(
-
ok ok :( so it cant really be done, oh well.

i was chasing my mate in his impresa round the gatwick straight the other night,(from stand still he eats me, but from 60 to 120 we are even 8) , he runs 280bhp, i'm close to 240.) and he get flames out during gear change, no flamer kit, just natural flames, and it looks sweet 8) :D , i want it, surely theres a way, i using a stage 5 sns chip, any ideas???[/b]

dame computer's, can't even put a picture where it's suppose to.. or it could be me  ...
-
well it's not clean at the mo' but it has been pretty cold outside, and the neighbour gives me a fummy look every time i start cleaning the engine. 'when are you going to sell that noisy thing and get your self a Rover?' erm never, now f@ck off

i had a good deal with my local centre, redhill, did a blinding job and well priced, highly recommended, :) shame i can't say the same about jetex, stainless, fitted ok worked ok for about a year then the welds start to crack althou it's got the warrentee it's so much grief triing to sort it out, it also knocked and banged  drove me mad., then the rear box split, this was the last straw. it's now in the bin, £360 along with it
-
iv'e heard of people using mk3 1.9 diesel gear boxes, fit's straight in,, but i don't know how the ratios would suit. also the 20v gear box non turbo fits straight in but is very short geared top out 120 -+, the 20vT box will fit but you need to change the drive shaft flange  over, but with 20vt boxes going for £600+ for the 6 sp you had better make sure first, i looked into it a while ago but nobody could give me a straight answer. i only want to get into the 14sec 1/4 mile my best is 15.10

What's the law on removing the indicator from a UK wing?
g60bv replied to biggerbigben's topic in Exterior
it's not illegal but if you spray your rear lights, you must fit another , or don't spray over the reflecter bit on the cluster, this would be an MOT failure, i've been screwed for this on my golf, i had to go to the brakers, buy a new set for the MOT, then change them again, gits :x , but some MOT staitions or on the ball , others can easily be distracted. enter girlfriend in passenger seat in a low cut top, :D , -
excellent the funny box will be in the bin tomorrow, now i can reap the rewards of weight saving horray, i'm sure i could gain loads of extra speed as well :-P
-
right. you've all been under the car at one point or another.. i hope. well i was doing the clutch on my g60 yesterday and it reminded me to ask, on the front subframe behind the engine there is a box approx 6" x 1.5" x 1.5", now in the Haynes it said something about it being a counter weight..? so what does it do. and if nothing can i take it off.? now while were on the subject of taking things off, on the off side drive shaft there is a large round bush, which wabbles about, well mine came loose ,so i thought it best to 'simply' cut it off, it's 8mm thick steel with a thin layer of rubber. i had to carefully  cut it off with a angle grinder. any ideas ??? ta

no but an eaton m90 or m112 supercharger would flow enough, and there much more reliable units than say vortex and quite compact units, i see these go on ebay, emmmm...
