  2. take the rad off.(its quite easy. 4 x10mm bolt screws for the cowl, then just a drain down. flush the rad throu with a hose,.?? but it does look like every thing else has been done, and althou the water pumps are of metel cnstruction, theres nothing to say the wrong anti freeze has been used in the past, which could have resulted in corrotion to the pump shaft.??

  5. FOR THE past 2 years i've had 180 miles per tank but since havinng the 5.5 SNS chip, i managed 250 miles per tank. But Santa Pod is 200 miles away (round trip!) Thank you!! But still managed a 14.54s QM. WOW!!! Considering that i'm runmnig 225n bhp & 225 ftlb of torque without a proper remap! i'm happy. Plus standard tranny. And my water injection works great!!!
  6. i saw that, i went up in the misses car.. nice polished vr wheels. my friend was supose to be competing but snapped his rear drive shafts in his 620bhp cossie, when he put 200bhp nos throu them, 2 days befor the event, he would have won his class too.

    Am I mad?

i do see what you mean, buy new car, which will come with other problems and cost, or (and i would do this). spend the 1500 on a super charger kit, then water injection, then a remap. 280-300bhp. plus the vr sound track, sorry guys i know i'm a g60 man throu and throu, but a supercharged vr, oh baby.
  8. you wolly. but not the first, i must get new plates which read G60 8V. . oh and those who didn't go the gti festival, my 1/4mile timea. 14.54 @97 and 14.6 / .7 /.7 , very consistant,
  9. bloody jesus christ. that is going to be a beast to drive, don't even mention torque steer, you'll have to do away with the front wings, just so you can get the massive slicks on.

    front spoiler

well actually 50MM FRONT SPOILER.....................£60.00  90MM FRONT SPOILER.....................£30.00 plus vat, and p&p.
  11. it's 14.7 psi = 1.0 bar. so if you making 0.8 0.8 x 14.7= 11.76 i'm making 18psi so thats 18/14.7 = 1.22bar any help?
  12. i purposly left the towing eye in, to not give it the OTT look.? and the swag lines. i have hooked up the old number plate lights to the brakes,, just need some brighter bulbs.! but it's really for show at night time, than actually a visable 3rd brake . you can get a blanking plate which fits in , instead of the black number holder thing, these are only £50, and would have given the desired line and smooth look, but would have taken 30sec to fit and anyone can do this, this i feel is more personal, i think once a desent respay(signal white? or posible a nissan pearl white?) A3 handles and a FEW other subtle changes, hopfully more will like it, .... if it were in pearl mulberry purple thou..?
  13. cheers chris, the exhaust,.. it's a miss match, mostly ss jetex, i welded on the tail., 4 1/2'' jap style. looks too big from the rear, but looks good from the side, on the blue car, the spoiler is carbon, 8) well sweet me thinks
  14. :( i've done it now, suppose i've got a felt tip pen. :D this is what made me do it, his is smooth and looks lovely.(i think so) maybe it doesn't suit the white,.?
  15. i do go through funny spells, woke up, smashed the rear number plate thing off, . had a plate made up and welded it over the rear, smoothed it all in, went to the breakers, found a yaris( i think) cut the bumper section out, and plastic welded it in place, all in all, too week ends worth, and i'm well glad it over and done.(well kind of, still need a bit of filler here and there, and oviously a respray) the new number plate lights up, and the old number plate lights are now red and come on with the brakes.,, so what do you think .? please be kind, i've cut my hands up and my back hurts.. wouldn't do it again,..
  16. get the charger rebuilt FIRST, them 68mm or 65mm, red tops and 5.5 sns chip. 3.5 fpr straight away 215 bhp and 220ftlbs, then get a desent intercooler. your laughing, people get scaerd of getting 65mm's. so long as the chargers been rebuilt properly, with quality bearings, and you change the oil every 5k max, you'll be fine for 3 - 4 year's, or 25k then rebuild again.
  17. christ, i'm tring to make mine quieter. they can really drown on the motor way, and the induction is VERY loud. get a k&n panel remove the silencer snorkel, ,.. and see how you get on, if you want it louder, well that bits easy.

    box problem

i was put raggin my old golf, and first gear blew up. :!: shashin a big hole in the side of the box and loosing all drive,, looking back at it, quite funny really,, not that this helps you in any way,.. sorry. unless you find a big hole, and lots of teeth on the road side,
  19. W6 DPO's are the g60 ones, but you can get the w5 dpo's, these are the g40 plugs and are colder. if you serious about it, i had ngk ones on mine for 6 months, and caused miss fires and all sorts, sounds good but..
  20. i did, he sounded busy and i 've lost his address. he hasn't done handles before. and i'm sure he could but i'd like to have some one who has, only becos i want them to stay in, i'm still concidering to do them my self. i know a breakers who has a corrado in. it's been beaten and the doors are fu@@ed but for a few quid it might be worth practicing on, fitting them isn't the problem, getting the mech to work is,, i'll let you know.
  21. they are the a6 ones. but i'm still havnig difficulty finding a fitter, might try and fit them my self.

    Air / Fuel Gauge

Bert. if you want a air/fuel guage to actually mean something it's best to get a second lamda installed in to the exhaust, you can get one from the breakers or something, ... if it's a g60, cos the lamda is read closed loop, on off on off. if its a valver it will be different and prob for vr6,?? dunno,
  23. i wouldn't worry just yet, when my car went in for same treatment p&p cam etc, it was delayed by 2 weeks, problems etc. all was ok in the end, this was in race power motor sport. in kent thou.
  24. my friends dad is serious about cossies. and before he does time trials he spray's the intercooler with pipe freeze, availble from any plumbing merchants. althou he was pushing over 500 bhp and 485ftlb of torque at 39psi.. on paper it would beat a maclaren f1 between 100 and 150. 0-135 12 sec.  but he wants more, his having it rebuilt to cope with 700bhp. crazy, and it was still a 2 liter, 4door full interior, oh and it was rated the fastest cossie in the country, 183.27mph.
