yeah steve did 95% of it, barely let the other two chaps near it, haha he is clearly a perfectionist. All great chaps though.

Just had a new screen fitted by Autoplus today, I drove 300 miles today in total to get them to do it and spent 4 hours at a M1 service station but I cannot recommend Steve and his team any more highly, class workmanship and total care and consideration. My car has been cherished all its life by its one previous owner (prior to my ownership) and yet it was easy to see how fitters not used to working on corrados can not do the greatest job. Reasonably priced too. Only issue is i'm going to have to get more miles put on my insurance policy now haha Edd

These front door fitments?

Vw rule did you buy a mk2 golf one? Can you update this thread after you have done it please? Would be very useful for all I am sure. Cheers. Edd

Mine sunroof is disconnected at the moment because my conlog alarm likes to automatically open in when it is set..:( As a note I'm sure i read that the auto closure is a part of the Corrado locking system and not the alarm itself ---------- Post added at 6:01 PM ---------- Previous post was at 6:00 PM ---------- The only info you will ever find about a conlog alarm us that they are cr4p..

Interesting thanks chaps, just how close is the mk2 one to the Corrado?, mine has rotten to the right hand edge wall of the tray looking from the front of the car so ideally I want the whole tray panel as if would come if it were a Corrado replacement (if you get my drift, the vertical edge of the tray provides the welding point to the inner wing I think)

I'm with footman James but have an agreed limit of 3k miles. If I remember correctly an extra 1k miles was circa an extra £100 increasing at that increment.

What's the condition of the battery tray area would you be prepared to cut it out. Where are you based?

Guys just want to pick up on this, I fitted mine on Tuesday and have just taken the car out for a spin and I am really stoked. I driven Corrados for over 8 years and have always felt the longish throw on the gear lever was a weak point against other more modern sports cars. No more, just feels great now, nice and tight and crisp and just a pleasure. I'd say it would even be worth taking yours out and sending it to Dave to convert your own if he is having trouble sourcing the originals; even if it does mean being without the c for a few weeks. Only thing is make sure you have a Dremel, wasn't expecting that bit and it is a necessity I'd say to do a tidy job. Cheers Dave. Edd

Ok thanks Dave May be down that way next week can you pm me contact details so I can come take a look. Edd

Blast.draft.b0ll0ks. So despite the car having virtually no rust anywhere else I discovered a horribly rotten battery tray this weekend. Was a complete tray before i put the screwdriver through it but within minutes id pulled it back to the solid stuff which left me with this... Having looked on ETKA it looks as though the battery tray is a welded in section thta would just about remove the whole of the rotten area but i cant be sure if the inner wing is affected to. looking at the join line i think not, can anyone advise... Is the battery tray still available i have looked on VW Heritage and vw classic parts De and i cannot find it? otherwise is it a case of finding someone murdering their own Corrado and cutting the necessary body parts out? part 14 on the exploded diagram i think Edd

Just found the only bit of rust on the car unfortunately my screwdriver went right through it and took about 3 inches diameter of metal with it, battertray and possibly surrounding area shot, anyone breaking one where this area is pretty solid. Happy with somerust as ong as it is treatable.. preferable in the midlands area as i would prefer to see in situ beforehand. Edd

v nice looks very tidy, good find

Ok mate il come back to you, Just had my golf towed in London yesterday as i didn't see the pay and display spaces had been removed from use for the week so have just had to fork out £300 to get my car back. *******s. Just need to look at funds! Where are you based Cheers Edd

Cheers Chris, swapped it for another one, got a bit snap happy.... To be honest James im really undecided on suspension, i can't be doing with crash too stiff-a-ride anymore, id forgotten how smooth a Corrado can feel when on stock suspension, even if there is a bit of roll and it looks bladdy awful. Do you really rate the KW V1 i just assumed the V3 would be smoother on the basis of cost....but have ot say hate the thought of payig outt hat much on the V3's Anyone else offer any thoughts on the suspension direction i should go, have had the Koni and H&R setup on previous cars which i was happy with to be fair..
