your spoiler is also controled by your clocks!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!. worth thinking about before buying a module.
-
I did this, to be honest you could do a 20vt for the same type of money,or sell yours and buy a g60 corrado ,i spent aprrox £2600 doing this conversion, done well mind with nothing spared.just late nights in the garage!!!! When you go to sell you ll lose out, your car plus everything = same as before all bar a few quid. better still buy mine and safe yourself some headaches""" regards kevin

JMR is a top bloke,if only everyone was as honest as john!! this should turn into a JMR appreciation thread??
-
have no doubt that you know your stuff from reading these threads!!!!!!. but could i ask "in your opinion" what the ideal oil would be for a g60??? thanks in advance regards kevin
-
as neil said the coil with the ht lead, the wiring is completely different on a g60. regards kevin
-
whats been going on neil!! got to the bottom of it yet regards kevin

yeah get it swaped mate i bet that is all it is??? remember different chips use different co pot settings,if un sure ring your chip manufactuer. i have five different chips all for a 68mm pulleys,i think if you intend to keep the car have a full custom re-map done,I have tryied these chips in a few different g60 all with different outcomes,or at least use a wideband to see whats what.the one chip i have does the same as you have mentioned in all g60s i have placed it in. regards kevin
-
as above mate!!! I changed the chip and all is spot on,on my set up as i would imagine yours would be my fly and crank are bang on a match, but i do set up by the fly!!. mine was a duff chip as i said above. at the moment im not running the sns chips i have but have gone back to the bbr one, with this chip i get no hesitation when booting it,and the car revs so much better. change your chip neil and see what happens, only takes 20 mins or so. regards kevin

neil i had that problem,it was the same at the flywheel. it turned out to be a dodgy chip, had new one sent and no problems since!!! you purchased your chip around the same time as me if you remember, might be related. i thought it was the way i was seeting the car up at first,so took it to a local rolling road and he found the same problem, the car was impossible to set the timming, went back to my old chip and had no problems at all.contacted bilal and he then sent out another chip. no problems with new chip as for setting timming but it massively over fuels when you floor it,but fine if you gradually exelarate. try putting your old chip back in and see what happens regards kevin

-
i sent you the full document, for changing early to late clocks without changing loom and ecu, as you have done the above ,you only need to start at section 5. regards kevin
-
document sent/good luck
-
thats ok thats the way ive done it,you will need the document i have got regards kevin
-
ther are a few connections that need to be changed over for the clocks to work correctly and you need the digital speedo sender in the box. drop me a pm with your email addres and ill send you a document with all you will need to know. recently done this for the fourth time so still fresh in my head. regards kevin p.s did you use the g60 engine loom and lighting loom.or just the engine
-
just fill in the engine number on the v5,as your not changing engine size thats all they need. i did this 18 months ago, your car however can never be a g60,it will be a 16v with a g60 engine in it. it also works out cheaper on insurance as its still a 16v but modified, sound stupid i know but belive me,i phoned the dvla about ten times before they told me exactly what to do. regards kevin

neil pm ,replied no probs on the part number mate shall look it up on the weekend for you . by the way i wasn't after big bucks for the lot, just i know it will cost a tenner for postage.only trying to help???? regards kevin
-
hello mate no probs, just i could do with a set fully working g60 clocks. i can get you the part number if you need it over the weekend just have to nip down the garage??? parts for clocks from VW are very pricey, they want £200 for the mfa sensor. make me a decent offer and you can have the full cluster, remember p&p will be £10 i should know i have bought a few regards kevin. neil !!! what do you need mate?? im sure i could find a few bits. drop me a PM as not on hear to often. all the best kevin
-
got both !!!valver ones are mint,g60 ones are also in good nick, but they dont operate the spoiler at speed, currently running late 2.0 valver clocks with g60 rev counter, all great exept the mfa with this set up, not all functions work correct, if needed have speedo cable and wiring diagrams for the clock swap. regards kevin

i have changed from 1.8 16v to a g60 and the clocks are not fully operational, there are a few conections on the clock to fuse box loom that need to be made, not really a major hastle thou!!! speedo is cable driven on early clocks, only has one indicator flasher light, temp gauge is wired different , and early clocks use a metal rear mfa sensor. not the black 2.0,or the blue g60 i have a set in the garage going spare ,would swap for a decent set of g60 clocks. regards kevin
