  1. Very true everyone. Im glad I started this but the forum plus MOD/Admin deserve praise. The other forums I wouldnt ask any questions unless someone can answer with a simple YES/NO not "well if you do that your car will be poo and you will lose 1000 scene point and my respect" This is more about advise, help and chat rather than 'my way or the high way'
  2. Hi all, Just wanted to say that Im very tempted to buy another Corrado just for how good this forum is. I now have an R32 and belong to r32oc and the some of the members on there are pretty horrible to talk to. Its nice to be able to come back to a forum where you dont get slandered by members for trying to help by putting your point forward. The Corrado Forum is definitely the best!!!!
  3. onyl prob with lap times is you are almost guaranteed to be slowed up at some point during the track due to crashes. im still one of the believers in it is more about the rush of the drive than the time you finish it in. Also you can drive the F1 track aswell!!! That has got to be good fun!!!
  4. very jealous! I was there in June for my 2nd ever time and first time with my own car. It is such an awesome experience that all keen driver have to try, even if you go as a passenger. I will definitely be back there next year as well. Looking forward to seeing you photos
  5. Yeah the Red MK4 they only made 44 of ( I read the same article ) I think your right in saying that the price of modding the R is still very high. All you need to do is look at FI prices on the JBS website.
  6. Thats because your too busy watching 'Hip Hop Honeys' on your 7 inch DVD screen in your R.
  7. I have moved from a Corrado VR6 to a MK4 golf R32 and I have to say that I enjoy every moment of driving it, more than I did my VR6. I will never forget the sound of my VR but I think that my R32 is just much more exciting for me. The torque is fantastic. Although I do respect Kevs view above I do think that his Corrado is far superior to most corrados around. So I think he would absolutely love an R32 if he had it to the great standard his Corrado currently is (Bi turbo etc) I have just recently taken the R32 to the Nurburgring and I absolutely loved its response on the track. I felt great with no under steer and loads of power when coming out of corners (this is with a remap). Also the stopping I found was great. My last thing about the MK4 is its rareity (2200 made approx) the MK5 is a great car but is a mainline item from VW. The MK4 was final fairwell you could say, like the Corrado Storm. I have a Grey one which is 1 in 31 made in UK.
  8. sorry guys. just thought I would pop up the pics. im missing the corrado a little, but funny enough I miss my 16v more than my vr6
  9. Hi all, just thought i would put up a couple of pics of the new wheels on the golf
  10. Its has all gone off on a bit of a tangent. I just wanted to get across that I do think the MK4 R32 is a great car. My VR6 corrado was completely standard and my R32 is also, and the only thing i miss about the corrado is the sound. Maybe its because we all seem to want something different things. Its like the front seats were mentioned as heavy etc. I loves them, really comfortable, heated, remind me alot of the recaros in the mk2 golf gti. I think the power is great, loads of torque (which I love). Maybe its because you guys have quite seriously tuned cars.
  11. have a little search on the forum. theres a post there to give you the answers
  12. I have had both rado vr6 and R32 now and I will vote 12v for sound definitely. BUT!!!!! that does not mean a 24v doesnt sound nice. My R32 is completely standard bar K&N induction and when you rev it, it sounds like thunder. Also I dont believe that 12v NA 'eat' 24v for breakfast. Standard they are statistically slower. Also I understand bananawhips is an exception due to the amount he spent on it but I still dont believe with that spec that it is seriously faster than a R32 for example.
  13. Thanks for the reply guys, Im really please with it. The interior is amazing! It does drink a bit of petrol but not really that much more than the VR6. Also as VR6 said above, the handling is fantastic, the 4 wheel drive system is spot on. Also with the variable cam/inlet, you do get alot of torque low down!
  14. Thanks for the comments guys. I had to stick with the VR6 style as I did enjoy mine. I think this one will do me well. Very rare colour as far as R32 go.
  15. Hi all, Im sad to see the corrado go, but need something a little more reliable, I have a job that I have to use my car daily. Soooo....... I decided to get me one of these! what do you guys think?
  16. i Think Im right in saying that a highline doesnt have a throttle cable. So that prob where your finding the difference there
  17. Its on 132k, cloth seats, guy before me says timing chains have been done but there is no history of it. there is lots of history, clutch and bits have been changed. I have changed the rad fans, rocker gasket, both rear calipers as others had seized. Body work is ok, there is a slight bulge in bonnet because the previous owner was driving round with the front engine mount undone. The things that are wrong are that from what I can tell it needs two front abs sensors as it can come on randomly. There is a oil leak coming from somewhere. had a compression test done and they were coming out approx 160 on each cylinder. The rad only comes on stage 2 (105c) so I have put in a manual switch. Also since Ive put the samco hoses on it leak a little bit of water. That is pretty much it really. Oh and it is MOTed and taxed. MOT is until end of this year I think.
  18. RIght guys. Im afraid my Corrado is gonna have to go. It has been replaced with something rather nice :D What do you think? The VR6 will be going up for sale very shortly, so if anyone is particularly interested in a bargain then get in touch. I havent decided on a price yet but it will be cheap for a VR6!!!!
  19. As a second car yeah def get one. But it is hard to adjust down as the guys said before. maybe a mk3? not as scene but has all the trimmings.
  20. legend! 15 dead is pretty dam good for standard away.
  21. Hi Tom, Thats sad to hear mate. Does that mean its not going down santa pod this year? Is the hesitation at low revs? Is it continual?
  22. Right Direct line are coming up with a barely monthly payment totalling £556 approx for the year. Really nice guys at Adrian flux but they couldnt beat it. Im gonna try a few other but have already called admiral to give them the boot
  23. nice rims mate. Looks almost like you have some negative camber on the front
