Hi All We have reproduced the wing mirror gasket for Corrado. Anyone want to test fit the sample i have? You can obviously keep it after
-
What are you wanting for it? Whats included.
-
That would be awesome if you do. The one i took off my car isnt right, the bolt holes dont line up and ive no idea how it was fixed in
-
Morning, i got a mail from powerflex this morning, these should be available from friday :-) they will list on their site and we will get them on our site too once we have them

Hi All I need just one of the fans from the twin fan set up in VR6, the one with the motor. To be honest i only need the motor part as the fan is OK. Turns out the nmotor i have does not fit my cowling and at some point has been changed for one that is incorrect so wont fit properly into the cowling. Part 357-959-455/L is the one i need

Hi, Will be sold as individual hoses as to do as a it you need multiple kits to cover things like air con and no air con. Marks S2 thanks so much, great review
-
Hey, any news?
-
as you can probably tell this is the first time ive taken the engine apart on my own. I had help previously but now i just cant bear anyone else touching the car. Im far too precious about it
-
ahh i didnt go that far down, rocker cover was as far as i needed to go. My inlet mani, throttle body and everything had it on before. I wont bother then, i have ordered some just in case, plus i think its probably a pretty useful item to have in parts/tools stash.
-
Thanks for the reply. Ive only re fitted the bottom inlet manifold at the moment and with just the gasket so may use a tad of that on the rest of it
-
Thanks for the input people. The engine is fully rebuilt with only 2000 miles on it, it had pistons/shells etc etc 6 years ago and the cooling system is good, all new samco hoses on there and no leaks etc. For me when i sit in traffic going to shows during summer it gets hot, up to about 120 IIRC, (been 4 years wince ive driven it) so ive always thought about adding a cooler for this reason. Plus i have it already bought now so would be happy to run it. Just dont want to get it wrong. Super motivated right now to get it rebuilt!

Hi All Currently rebuilding my mk2 VR6. Well some of it. I stipped it down to get rid of teh chrome crap i had in favour of black powdercoat. So its stripped to the rocker cover. When i rebuilt it last time, as in engine rebuild with new pistons etc we used a sealant/gasket paste stuff as well as the genuine gaskets. Ive got new gaskets and fixings for everything ive removed. What i want to know is doesnt or has anyone else used sealant as well as the gaskets. Should i use it again or just put it back together with gaskets as it should be?

Hi thats what it lists to do in their description, allows the fitment retaining the original oil cooler. So confused now. Does anyone want to fit the bloody thing for me lol As far as i was aware i needed an early cap that metal and comes apart and that bolt i have in the link about, then bolt it all up together. job done
-
got that bit which i b elieve is this one https://www.merlinmotorsport.co.uk/p/mocal-extension-bolt-for-the-volkswagen-vr6-engine-m-eb-vr6
-
Hi Awesome, I believe the pipe should separate from the cap. If it does then i will take it. Drop me the details for payment etc over
-
checked mine last night as my engine is a right old mix of early and late parts. Its deffo plastic. damn! So deffo need one of these
-
awesome, thanks. Just realised i put early plastic bolt but it should say metal
-
Hi Needing the early metal type large bolt that sits in the front of the original oil cooler. Its the one where it separates apart. Needing it to fit my external cooler. Mine is plastic :-(
-
This is why i want to leave the original in place too as to not over cool. Its the threaded extension tube that can be fitted wrong. i spoke with Merlin motorsport and that isnt the right cap. I need an early metal VR6 cap where the threaded part seperates. My engine is an early one but i am 99% sure the cap is plastic on mine

Hi All Currently re building my VR6 engine. wooo be good to drive it again after 4 years. I have a mocal 13 row external oil cooler to fit. Now i want to keep the original cooler. Im looking for some instructions or pictures to help. Obviously never fitted one before. Now the sandwich plate goes onto the original and you need the extension bolt which i believe i have. This one https://www.merlinmotorsport.co.uk/p/mocal-extension-bolt-for-the-volkswagen-vr6-engine-m-eb-vr6 I then think i need the cap they say you might also want when buying https://www.merlinmotorsport.co.uk/p/cover-plate-3-4unf-m-cp-3-4unf as i have the plastic cap. My engine is a bit of a mix of early and late parts. Then just carry on and fit the rest as you would when removing the standard one. If anyone can enlighten me to whether i am right or link me with fitting pics then that would be greatly appriciated. My engine is fresh rebuilt so dont want to fit it up wrong and bugger my engine

Any news

Hi Thank you for the feedback, thats awesome. Did i send you the G60 bottom hose too? There should be a full set of VR6/G60 hoses available soon the way we are cracking through them

Ive now set these up at VW Heritage. They are £29.95. Hopefully using these will get you late Right hand drive owners out of a hole. Ive had no luck finding the correct RHD version
