1. Which brings things back up to date Unfortunately a change of plans means that the car is now going up for sale, I'll be sorry to see it go as I had every intention of keeping it for good but I simply don't have the free space to keep it and couldn't bear to see it sat outside on my drive rusting away.

3. The car is all back together and has been in use for a few months now, flew through the mot even without the cat fitted :) ;)
4. It's been a while since I last posted on here so here's an update to where the car is now. A change of plans with the interior, I have decided to go back to the factory look and reinstall the rear seats and carpet. The battery has been moved to the nearside rear corner on a custom made battery tray.

6. I'm laid on the beach in Spain at the moment, I'll post the link when I get home next Monday.
7. Steelworker, 25yrs in the industry. Looks like there are some very well educated chaps on here looking at what some of you do for a living.
8. I can recomend Wicked Paint And Panel in Pargate mate, they're not the cheapest but check out their work on FB. https://www.facebook.com/Wickedpaintandpanel/?hc_ref=ARSuojk8137l94jYyizYgMOj3pdXXtpNu_F-_eT7Oyhv8HuBoxNWbSuT4vsQTPLEi0M&fref=nf
9. My mate took these photo's, nice car btw.
10. A bit of an update, I've managed to get the intercooler pipe welded up and fitted, I'm just pondering sending it off for powder coating now. Also fitted my carbon air intake, it's a Simota one off my old BMW 328 Msport. I made a little bracket for it and secured it to the intercooler pipe. I'm just waiting on a silicone hose arriving now for the recirc valve. I've also been a little bit busy in the back of the car. I made a strut brace with the mountings welded to the strut towers. And boarded the rear bench seat area out around my battery after reloacting it to the back of the car. I need to source some carpet now and carpet over it all. I'm trying to make the back of the car look something like the Audi TT Sport Quattro.
11. I'll get a new pipe made up at my local hose company during the week.
12. Not a good start to the weekend, as I went into the garage I could smeel petrol. A quick glance under the car revealed a nice pool of petrol. The leak was coming from the accumulator pipe that was quite rotten, so no option for it I had to take the pump assembly down to investigate further. Seems that wasn't the only problem. The plastic pump housing was also cracked, admitedly made slightly worse as I was wrestling to remove it. So a bit of clever plastic welding with the soldering iron ensued, follwed up with a coat of epoxy resin. 13. Oh bugger that's not good. I've been there myself, it made me almost sell the whole project and just walk away. New motor and start a fresh is the way.:thumbleft:
14. Oh **** man! has it damaged the head? Hopefully you will get away with just a new valve, but secondhand heads are plentyful on ebay.
15. Ahh, I see. So you have a bit of a Frankenstien motor then? Looking good mate, supprising to see 2 Blackberry 20v's being built on the same forum. :thumbleft:
16. I have a full Milltek cat back system that I will be selling soon, it's 2" bore I think. It was on my 16v when I bought it, also there was a guy on the Corrado FB page selling a 16v tubular manifold.
17. Steel sump? what is that off, I didn't know that there was a steel one available
18. Good idea mate, if I was doing it all again then I would try my best to hide as much as possible.
19. My turbo intake pipe has finally turned up so with this fitted it has given me chance to look at the intercooler pipe work. I have made it all from 2.5 stainless, just need to get it all welded up now. I have also moved the expansion tank to the other side of the bay. And I managed to fit my catch tank, must remember to order a cap!
20. Time for a bit of an update. I have changed all of the brake pipes for copper, unfortunately I didn't have enough pipe to do the drivers side front so This will get done later when I get more pipe. So that's pretty much everything done on the underside of the car. I decided to move the battery into the back of the car, I have used a mk4 golf battery junction box mounted in the engine bay to give me a few power options and to make the battery relocation easier I have used welding cable from work for my main battery cable, that should provide plenty of cranking amps! I have a few plans for the rear of the car, all will be revealed later.
21. There was a guy on Club Gti making baffles for the 1.8t sump, I'll have a browse and see if I can locate him.
22. Hmmm, not a bad idea. I'll have a look at that. :thumbleft:
23. Been doing a bit of machining today and made some stub axle spacers, I wasn't sure whether to go with 20mm wide or 25mm so I made both :)
24. Lovely work, I'd like a mk1 Golf myself and had every intention of getting one before the Corrado. It would be nice to see all of the photo's from the start of the thread if you have time to re-upload them?
