  1. Nah, that was the only negative off the whole day, I'm not regarding it a biggie and neither did they, just thought I'd run it pest the UK's finest Corrado Team,!!! (Corrado forum)

The guys at the garage today have been working on dubs since early 80's and they all said it was just summit that they haddn't ever seen or noticed in the past. They thought a bush on the Lay Shaft. Without the cam belt on it turned with a spanner, nowhere near as tight as the cam wheel but a bit tighter they said than it should be.

Surely it couldn't stick? Or course a belt snap.

  2. Good luck with the car mate, hope you enjoy it as much ad I have mine. I've got a '95 Classic Green 8v, had it since Feb 2011 and it's not missed a beat apart from the starter motor being a bit off over the past couple of days.

That's good to know, maybe its time to big up the 8valve a little and it's oh so simple engine, mine is a 95 silver and same owner for last 13yr all dealer and never boy raced, bog standard, I worked for jaguar Aston for 12 years and I'm just taking life easy now and picked up a iconic car for 1500. And after today with its great thunbs up. They spent 2hrs just checking everything, I love having a perfect fair vw service specialist local. :)

  3. I'd just like to ask, how long was the interior light on for? Had you been working inside the car,.? Scary pictures tho, I'm just thinking of getting a few. [cough cough] think I'll leave we'll alone....

Wonderful post cheers for heads up.

  4. It's my daily used car, corrado 2.08v in this morning at a old school specialist vw and on changing the timing belt and tensioner the diagnosed that the lay shaft is turning tighter than normal?

Checked to dizzy and the oil pump and they are free, so they say....

    Any ideas guys

    Thanks in advance

  5. Hi Michael,

Our light protection films were developed for Leman racing/classification (Yellow) and protection, so they are race proven over many years. They are adhesive backed for easy fitment and removal should you require.

Our product is very, very different to a sticker or graphics vinyl. You can actually request any samples at: http://www.Lamin-X.co.uk/samples.htm which will allow you to get a look/feel of the product. There are basic fitting instructions/guides etc on the downloads page too.

As an example, to protect both Corrado headlight faces, the product cost would be just £15.99. I don't want to step on Owen's toes so obviously I'd like anyone to make their own decision on product choice, and he's a good lad, I'm just adding a little info regards our product. In fact we have had many members of the general public fit our light protection onto plastic/perspex/plexi covers.

    I hope that helps. :thumbleft:

Sounds fantastic, thank you for taking the time to explain and include a link.

I'd like to sort out the fog and indicators out with protection.

  6. I'm hoping if interest is good enough a price between £25 and £35

Count me in please, top of the list. Might have a couple of sets. Did you say your getting them specially made?

I might get the fogs done yellow with Lamin-x and the indicator bits clear... Does a done know if the Lamin-x is easy removed? It it just a sticker?

  7. Great information again, thankyou so much. See what the dealer order time is.

Yeah mines a 1995, that fix looks great how to with the bosch BMW/Volvo lens looks mint and right up my street to have a go at. It's the fact I can't even find a place flogging the bosch fog light lens...

I keep looking on ARZ at the full set of French yellow style with clear indecators included and smile.....well until the 16o.ooEuro price... :p.

  8. Cheers for that info, I shall try dealer first thing in the morning for headlight lens, wonder if its easy swap? I do hope so.

As for them pesky fog lights it's maybe back to the drawing board. Grrr!,, my current drivers side fog is like totally smashed in, spoiling the front look :(
