  1. You can replace headlight lenses separately... fogs should still be available new as far as I know!

Right I've had a good look on google etc, and haven't had any luck finding either full lights or replacement lenses?.

Would you be so kind and point me in the right direction...? I fancy getting the lenses for the fog lights and doing the mod too. But they are only in the USA I think and are a fortune postage..... Help me guys!!!!

  2. Thx Ian, they look canni. Amazon sell everything these days, certainly have there fingers in a few pies...

    When do they arrive,?

Youll have to let me know what they ste like.

I thimk i need this hole filling in or a certainly a new glass or plastic lens before a bulb.

I'm wishing to keep my car looking pretty original but improving with a few bulbs woulnt harm,

  3. Not having great luck, a stone has damaged my front O/S headlamp, it's holed

Is it best just to replace it or are there any good glass resins?

Has anyone got one spare of either lights, my cars a 2.0 1995? Have they changed spec on the later cars?

As the late spec fogs are seemingly rare, has anyone had experience with ordering and doing theDIY on the fog? Advice welcomed

    See link

Also while I'm on, what bulbs are best for good white solid light, while I'm messing I might as well replace them. Are there any plug in and go bulbs for headlights and fogs? Can the rears be upgraded?j

    Thanks in advance.

  4. Not sure I'm happy about all the 'PM'ing' going on. I though FS threads were supposed to be an open discussion not a closed auction. Clumpy, let me know if I'm next in line.

    Thanks!

Whoa Ollie get on the net, it's the way... Tomorrow I'll own two pair for a tenner surely that's the best around. A lot of scrap dealers aren't interested in the little bits. And wanting the car just for engine and metal chassi etc, to sell on. This one im driving to tomorrow is exactly that type.

    Great bargain..... I hope.

  5. Mine are none Lupo Gti, and the guy took the drive side ones off too for me too. I'm gonna run with the Bosch style eighty's looking blades I wanna keep it looking retro. The vw ones on are canni so ill leave them be unless the lengths aren't right. Dunno if I'll be keeping nostalgic and saying no to the blade style if they aren't working great,

Anyway what is this lupo Mod for, stronger arm springs and overall better design?

Haha...... It was Stuart first before me?

OllieVR6, get a few scrap yards called bro. I'm pleased I did.

I Just typed on eBay: lupo breaking then searched nearest first.

  6. Class, great useful info again, always like the sound of start with cheap then work up. I'm sure Maf sensors can be cleaned and sorted that way.

I started it up tonight for a little run up the road and it ran a bit lumpy until it warmed up.

Engine sounds sweat as a nut. I'm sure Fridays inspection will be the day.

Thanks for parts links. I'm needing a rear number plate lights and cover its rusted away. Odd place for chrome?....

  7. That's fantastic information, thank you so much. Saved me a water pump. :) hahaha. I'm so in the dark on tech stuff.

Apart from the idle valve and top back of cam cover cleaned out is that the issue of the poor cold idling sorted?

Any good links for the right tensioner and sensor? Where's best to get good VW parts these days?

  9. Good Morning Corrado team,

I spoke to Jim on Sunday and he recommended to post a few questions in here.

My Corrado is booked in at a local well established vw specialist I previously had a polo G40 in 1995 and they looked after it back then, plus the owner has two VR6's one storm that he's had from new with only 34k. Garages with a interest in the great older stuff I feel is always a good choice.

Mine is a satin silver 2.0 8v it's been owned with the same keeper for last 13years and history is dealer upto 90k then local specialists after that upto it's 125,000, a service in the record is now due.

    Right My questions;

    1) I've booked it in for Friday for a good look underneath first, all being well I've decided on the day for timing belt and a major service. What other stuff would you guys get done on that visit? Is belt tensioner and water pump a must while they are in there ? What's a good idea to get done on friday and check/replace on my little 8 valver?

    2) Currently when started cold (every time) it's will not idle, without revving it just cuts out, this happens at junctions until 10mins till its warmed up? This garage has a VAG computer but I'm under the impression from reading alot that it may say a number of things. And problems still urcure. Should I purchase a coolent temperature sensor ready? what are all your wonderful findings?

    3) The rest is bulbs and headlights, a few lights are off and some housings are cracked, are there now easy plug in and go options to improve the lights? Ready to rock halogen brightness up front.

I'm needing a drivers side o/s headlamp or do a repair it has a hole in the glass off a lovely stone, and the fog light under it on the drivers side also, thats totally smashed and rusted reflector plate. Not seen any later spots about, can anyone help.

Lastly to replace the number plate lights to clear white style are they a plug in and go? Bulb type?.. Also the screws in the fixing are well gone (rusted in), is it safe to drill it out and not damage the treads behind?

    Thanks in advance, :)

  10. That's fantastic, and ordered up :)

I've a few little mini jobs that need sorting, sunroof seal needed (can't find replacement) would that cause a wet rear n/s footwell? And the other little job is rear number plate lights, the screws are rounded. Do u know if they are safe to drill out? And not damage the car? What's best.
