now for sale due to loss of job http://the-corrado.net/showthread.php?t=88786

95 Classic Green VR6 (pics added) reluctantly i'm having to put my corrado up for sale due to being made redundant 2 months ago and bills are starting to mount up so i cant really afford to keep it anymore. I have owned the car for just over a year now and in that time iv spent a lot of time and effort trying to bring it back to its glory, at the beginning of the summer i had spent over 1000 pounds on engine and general maintenance. this is the previous sale thread all is basically the same as this other than the work iv done over the last year: http://the-corrado.net/showthread.php?t=83146 In the time since iv bought the car iv done alot of work on the mechanical side of things most of which includes: -All engine bay brackets powder coated black -Brand new hella radiator -full service including plugs, leads, all filters and gearbox oil -New water pump -Clutch and Chains done less than 1k ago -New clutch slave cylinder -New header tank -New crack pipe and thermostat housing -New head gasket set and head bolts -head has been cleaned valves re lapped in and new valve stem seals fitted -Engine and gearbox got stripped down and re painted -Bilsein B4 suspension with new top mounts -Un branded stainless steel exhaust system fitted (sounds great but not over the top coupled with the BMC filter) now the bad bits which are to be expected with a car of its age there are a few little niggles that iv not got around to sorting. - there is a patch of rust just breaking through on the drivers side wing about the size of a screw head. - the sun roof doesnt work properly i suspect the mechanism has gone as the motor still works. -the paint work is in pretty good condition but its does need a good machine polish as its not looking its best. -underneath the car is a little rusty stone chip is still all in good nick its only the suspension components have a bit of surface rust on them, not much to look at but are completely solid through out. All in all this is a great car that is mechanically sound with a great deal of maintenance done over the last 2-3 year with all the receipts to back it up. great bodywork with only a few niggles to sort out. I would like 2200 for the car but i would be open to sensible offers. contact me on 07956 442954 if your interested. will upload some pictures when ****e weather will allow. a quick spin round the block normally sorts this problem, usually just take it for a 10 min drive then check level when im done and top if needed. doing it on stands first is always better just never fully bleeds it until its driven then its usually quietens down.

Finally got around to getting this sorted in between daft work hours. sent the head to my mechanics to be stripped down and inspected, turns out valves are all straight and undamaged. So had the all the valves cleaned up along with the head and had the valves lapped in again with new stem seals for good measure. Re assembled the engine with a new head set and head bolts while i was at it, took a few hours to get it all sorted but first turn of the key it fired up as good as new just slightly rattly until the tappets re filled. While the head was off at the mechanics i decided to replace the ebay special coilovers with some bilstein B4s that came with the car as i want to use it for work without breaking my back. Fitted new top mounts on the front while i was at it and a new rear bolt as one had snapped, now all the wheels area aligned right the ride is excellent, love how smooth it is now and it still corners reasonably well to say its 10ft off the ground. The culprit for all the damage. 4x4 corrado

could possibly be wheel speed disk catching the sensor, if you rotate the whole thing and see if its warped any. got the same problem on mine sounds like something catching once every revolution.

Corrado Heat Shield Hood Liner (Group Buy 2014)

payment sent, much appreciated -
had a steady day removing the head to see what damage has been done, not entirely sure whats going on there doesn't seem to be any bent valves just looks like there's been a bit of detonation in cylinder 5 as there seems to be a fair bit of blistering on the head and on the bottom edge of the cylinder, i will send the head to my mechanic to have it inspected and see if he can shed any light. there was only a very small probably 2mmx1mm long piece of stainless steel sitting in the cylinder which was likely a washer at some point in it life. didnt take to long to get the head off seems like a pretty easy job just a pain in the as. this is a picture of the pitting on cylinder 5 not a great one but you can see it on the raised section.
-
one of the seals had given up so had a fairly large fuel leak, ended up being a rushed friday afternoon job before going pub which was probably the biggest downfall
-
went up this morning to try work out the extent of the damage, car runs like an absolute bag of spanners sometimes barely idling so i stripped inlet manifold off to see if i could see anything. cylinder 5 inlet had a load of fuel sat in it and looks like the inlet valve has been pretty badly bent.
-
well problems dont rain they pour, managed to replace all the injector seals but in doing so looks like i might have dropped something into an inlet because there was loud rattle for 5 second and the engine seemed to choke after starting it back up. so now looks like the head has to come off to inspect the damage.
-
nah nothing else just seems like theres alot of pressure in the system
-
nope just been feeding it shell 97 go juice, just completely stumped as to why it'd go from been completely fuel tight to a torrent in 3 weeks of being sat idle.
-
not had much time for corrado over the last couple of weeks with work and other things. Went up this morning to give it a little run as its been stood for 3 weeks and was greeted by leaking fuel lines and leaking injector seals, to say i'm a bit ****ed off is an understatement as its was fine before i parked it up. any ideas as to why they'd let go ?
