  3. Yeah, Corrados are cable change and Golfs arnt so it won't fit. Keep phoneing about there must be loads of Golfs in scrap yards!
  4. It could be the crank shaft bolts snaped. Its very comon on G60's. When mine went all my dash lights came on and it just stopped.
  5. Only just downloaded the "G-Lader VW tech talk" video from http://fastpurple.co.uk/corrado/vids/ Didnt know anything about it before. Its ace well funny!! Is there more of these anywhere???
  6. I know what you mean in multistorey car parks. I just carnt reach that ticket without puting my right leg in the passenger footwell. Then you have to get going quick before the barrier comes down!!
  7. Cheers Gavin! I swear I'm going to end up some sort of G60 fuel pump spotter by the time I get mine fixed!!!
  8. I wouldn't bother with it. They may only be after your bank details to rip you off. Why do a bank transfer when they have to come pick the car up anyway. I had a really funny email from somebody claiming to be a relation of an exailed president of some obscure African country. Asking to use my account to transfer there money to this country. All they needed was my bank details!! Sound a bit to good to be true??????
  9. No coolant. Don't want to scare you Gaz but I think this can mean head gasket problems carn't it? Anyone?
  10. Gavin will the pierberg fuel level sender work/fit on the VDO pump? If it will it'd save me a lot of messing around. Also did you have to change the intank mounting to fit the VDO pump to it?

  12. Are they the RS's that had been striped and sand blasted? I almost bought them but really couldnt afford it. New I missed out on a bargain!
  13. Why did u buy the saxo Jim? Surly it must of cost a fair bit! moment of madness I reckon
  14. Thats well nice! What size and make ar those wheels? They look great!
  15. Sweet!! Worth the wait.
  16. Thats ACE!!! First think you should do mate is clean the engine with "Gunk" looks like it would come up great!!
  17. I had this exact problem. I bent the hook a bit more, attached it back to the pedal and have had no more problems! Sorted!
  18. I have had a look at my pump it has no markings on it. But the tank lid with the pipes going into it has pierburg on it and the part number 191 919 051 bm. I've tryed phoneing GSF but the bloke I spoke to was trying to sell me a Bosch pump for a late 8v gti which I'm sure is wrong. So I carnt get a Pierburg pump from VW, and am having touble ordering one from else where.
  19. I have just got off the phone with my local dealers. The pump they have listed is a VDO. Althought the have a listing for both a VDO and pierburg fuel sender!! Me and the VW guy both agreed that they probably dont sell a pierburg pump anymore. So your right on the money H100VW!! I think it means that if my pump is pierburg I will need to buy a VDO pump, fuel sender and mounting. If its a VDO I will only need to replace the pump. I'm going out now to have a look!! Gavin I'm sure its the pump because of the noise. I've cleaned filter on the pump. The nosie it makes isnt healthy.
  20. I've been thinking about this (it didnt hurt to much) and the problem is that I'm being told that there are two makes of pump which arent interchangable but share the same part number!! That carnt be right????
  21. My cars really hesitant, so I've changed the inline fuel filter, clean intank filter, etc. I'm 100% sure its the fuel pump. When I turn on the ignition the fuel pump makes a noise like sucking the last of your coca'cola through a straw! I was told that the VDO and pierberg are not interchangeable. That they have a different mounting. I also would rather keep the old fuel level stuff as it cost £50 and there is nothing wrong with it. If the pumps are different its likely that fuel level stuff is different as well? I should be able to sort this tomorrow though, after checking my pumps make. I'll just phone around. Cheers P.S. I'll be trying to get at least one other engine modd for the RR day  You coming along then?
  22. I used to prefer PVW but I think that’s because of its better graphic design and overall look. However, the quality of the articles in the Golf is better. One of the problems with the magazines is that they seem scared to say a bad word about any garage or product for fear of offending there advertisers. There okay magazines but if you compare them to any bike magazines there not as good. All bike magazines have great articles on products and services giving them honest unprejudiced reviews. I suppose this is because of a small circulation and the advertising revenue being very important. The problem pages are great! Dub freak: "my cars not right Mr Awesome..." Mr Awesome: "bring it round son, we'll sort it!” ........"ch-ching!" Genius
  23. Did you get another VDO one from Awsome? Do the mk3 vr6's have both pierberg and VDO? And which is the best?
  24. Weird one this.  I'm trying to get a new fuel pump. Its a single pump type. I've been to my dealers to have a look at there computer and got the part number 1HO919651Q. I got a friendly independant VW mechanic to order it for me from John Roberts Bosch suppliers, Wrexham. They reckon theres two makes of pump, VDO and I carnt remeber the other make and there main dealer only. They said that GSF are a suplier of the other make of pump (not VDO) but when they have ordered them they have been sent the wrong type (VDO). They also reckon these two makes are not interchangeable. I'll have another look at my pump to see if I can tell what make it is. I could order one from the main dealer but they have mentioned nothing about the two makes so I dont want to order one (up to 7days) and it be the wrong one. Anybody know whats going on here?
