  1. Just seen the C advert video! Love it!!
  2. Wicked Ant, really looks the part these days. :-) :-) lol, Just looking at the picture of your engine. Is that an oil cooler install that held on with a cable tie? :-) lol Like it!!
  3. Yeah my feeling exactly. :-) Back in North Wales at the moment and probably for the forseable future. Will be at some shows with the new car next year......what ever it ends up being. I'm sure I'll see you there. I may try organise another RR day when I've got a new motor to put through its paces. Your cars looking even better than when I last saw it. Last time I was at yours you where complaining you didn’t like the way the accelerate cable went right across the engine. Can see you've ran it nicely under the engine cover now. Where's your battery gone? I'm pritty sure the internals on the AGU are the same as the 225's. Read it on that Club GTI list and in a article on 20v engines in Golf magazine. Think both say the compression ratio's are different. So does help confirm that the pistons are different like you said? Also did I hear you where selling you car?
  4. Andy, thats exactly where I'm getting my info from. ;-) Just heard it wasnt 100% and to be taken as a guide. ;-) We'll I fancy a change, had my G60 for over 2 years now. Fancy a 20v but cant fit one myself and dont fancy paying £5000 for sombody else to do it. Think I'll get something that comes with a AGU factory fitted for my next car. Still haven’t decided so weighing up my options. Thing that worrying me is the cost of remap evertime I add a new mod. A DTA, Emarald or Haltec may be the way to go but seems a shame to butcher a factory installed setup in that way. Also want the car to be very reliable. I dont think the word reliable is associated with running custom ECU's or what ever the term for them is :-) , even if they are setup well.
  5. Beal, a remap from most companies will take them from 150bhp to 210bhp for about £500. Don’t quite know why flashing the ecu with some different fuelling figures, etc costs so much! Problem is add anymore mods and you need it remapping again! Don’t know what sort of other mods mean you have to get a remap though.
  6. Cambelt change on Fiat Coupe means Engine out!! :-( Sounds a typical well thought out Italian design then......:-) :-)
  7. Those Fiat Coupe's are suspiciously cheap to buy.
  8. After an intercooler. How about toothed belt or aquamist? :-)
  9. **back from Autotrader How about a A3 1.8T?
  10. **Runs off to Autotrader website to look at A3 tdi's!!
  11. Nooo, keep the centers black! The contrast against the white is awesome! I rember a german white mk1 golf cabriolet being in pvw or the golf with BBS splits that had black centers. That looked mint too. Think its the best theme/style to go with on a white car.
  12. I think you can get a Golf TDi for under 5k, but if it was me I'd want the GT TDi (150bhp with room for more 8) ) and those still cost quite a bit. :-( If you could get a GT TDi for under £5000 I'd already have one! Good looks and performance but with diesel economy. Perfect for conniving yourself your being very sensible! Until the remap, etc becomes just too tempting.
  13. aaah, you where still posting more pics above. Total transformation or what!!! :-) :-)
  14. Nice! Dont ussually like white cars but with those wheels on it looks mint. ;-) Got a picture of the car from a bit further away?
  15. I just want to check something with those that know. If you got a 99 AGU from a Golf. It would have the following; Forged Crank Large Head ports Non VVT External Water pump Cable throttle 20mm Piston Pin and KO3 turbo. That right? Would this engine then be capable of BIG power (300+bhp) with bigger injectors, turbo, intercooler and stand alone engine management. Without having to change any internals? So, I'm thinking if you fitted a K04 turbo and bigger injectors to a AGU you would then have a better engine than a 225 BAM engine code jobbie. Because you'd have all the good stuff plus larger head ports, external water pump but minus VVT and DBW.
  16. Jim, Just a bit over your price range would get an early mk4 1.8T 150bhp. Think they start at £5000 for a 5 door with about 100K. Insurance group 15 and apparently quite economical before there chipped. I've been keeping an eye on them! Fancy one myself soon maybe!
  17. Nice one Darren! I had this happen to me too, the day after I bought my car. Luckily there was no damage done. But it’s a real worry while you wait to find out if there’s any damage. Its also just happen to my mates G60 two days ago. He posted the story on the Dubforce forum. We haven’t got the broken part of the bolt out of the crank yet. We won’t know if any damage has been done until we get the broken bolt out (nightmare) and try turning the engine. At the moment it looks promising as he was going slow when it happened and the bottom pulley is still on the car but has popped out a bit. Think the water pump pulley has hopefully saved him as its jammed up against that. It may have slipped a couple of teeth on the timing belt but hopefully that’s it. His car has a Jabbasport big valve head on it too!! He’s gutted but optimistic, could be very expensive though!! What makes it worse is he had Awesome replace it about a month ago to prevent it from happening!! Any ideas why its happened? Think maybe Awesome didn’t torque the new bolt correctly? Darren, I need to tell him not to get another G60 bolt then and to get a DX engine code replacement bolt?
  18. Really! Nice one cheers Supercharged Part number anyone? Please
  19. I was just trying to order a new Speedo cable as mine is cracked and looks on its way out. The problem is my car (Golf G60) is LHD, so the cable is different from a RHD. I assume the only difference is length. Has anyone got any experience with this. I don’t really want to have to go to main dealers and then wait ages for them to order me one. I also don’t want to fit a RHD one to it if the difference in length is a BIG one. I have tried GSF and GPC. Neither have one in stock. Could some body with EKTA installed tell me the part number for a Golf G60 LHD Speedo cable. The guy at stealers obviously couldn’t be arsed to check EKTA when I phoned at 5:20pm. Also while somebody is checking EKTA could they check on the ABS sensors for a Golf G60. I thought they where the same as Corrado ones. But guy at GPC reckons there different and £94!!!! Can you belive that £94 for 1 ABS sensor!!! Bet that doesnt include VAT either.
  20. Thats minted! :-) Really like it!
  21. Dennis.be I think there are some exceptions to that rule, but very rare. Ant (BannanaMan) has the external stlye pump on his G60, not sure of exact year though.
  22. Shows how little petrol I could afford when I had my Storm. lol
  23. Right first off is it an intank pump? If it is intank there are two makes of these Perburg and VDO. The problem is you can only get a VDO one of these now. So if you have a Perburg you will have to buy a new fuel sender too. Because a Perburg fuel sender wont fit on the new VDO pump. I havnt got EKTA to check but it looks to me like the dealers are trying to sell you a external style 16v pump. Arnt 16v pumps 4bar and a old style part number begining with 191? Euro and GSF have probably got a VDO internal G60 pump. If I had ECTA installed I'd check the part numbers. I'm sure sombody else will. :-)
  24. Ah, you can get um then! :-) Also the fuel tank was metal on mine. Durring the last petrol crisis thing. I filled it right up and it leaked, probably due to the presure of a full tank and its age. Think the tanks corode were the rubber pipe that joins it with the filler neck is. So check that for signs of a leak.
